STORY: * BL STORY * This does have a sci-fi feel to it. As unrealistic as it is that an phone app can summon a hologram (or a virtual person anyway). It also is part psychological thriller. I really liked that it showed a long-term relationship of two guys, even though it is going through tough times. This does have a happy ending.

ACTING/CAST: Absolutely superb. I was amazed at how well these actors conveyed the emotions of their characters. They weren't bashful during the "making out" scenes either. The actor playing Lin has some very pretty eyes.

MUSIC: It was good and a bit sorrowful.

REWATCH VALUE: I liked this enough to watch it again with a friend.

OVERALL: I WANT THAT APP! Watch this and you'll know what I'm talking about.

"Does love really dwindle as time pass by?"

The question wherein the story circles. It's a story of fading love from a long term relationship, and the overwhelming satisfaction a new company can offer. It has a very unique plot and gives a message at the same time. It's a bittersweet story but with happy ending nonetheless. So for sci-fi lovers, this is mostly for you.

Acting is good, no awkward scenes at all.
Music is lovely since one of the characters is supposed to be a songwriter.
The length of the movie is just enough to cater everything in the plot.

AFTER WATCHING THE SHOW YOU'D SERIOUSLY WANT TO HAVE THE APP. LIKE REALLY IT'S KINDA FATAL BUT WHATEVER I WANT A CUSTOMIZED BOYFRIEND TOO! lmao

Great Sci-Fi Idea But No Character Growth.

GENERAL SPOILERS below.
What the hell was the point of what they went through? The relationship arc could have been the exact same even if there had been no cyber lover. You could just jump from 7min into the movie to the last scene because the characters are pretty much emotionally and psychologically at the same point regardless of the stuff in-between. "Happy ending" my foot. *They didn't re-learn to love each other, didn't even put any effort into doing so*, but somehow they're back together at the end anyway. Mutually grieving the loss of their happy early days does not equal a good reason to stay together.

I wasn't able to root for any of the characters because they were unlikable without enough reasons/examples to make it understandable why they were that way. I did end up feeling the most pity for Wen, but that didn't translate into liking, and I really couldn't understand the last couple of choices he made for his own sake at the end.

The ideas in the movie are definitely new and intriguing. That's what kept me watching all the way through. Unfortunately, the exploration of themes felt shallow to me. The main characters started, stayed, and ended sadly reminiscing about the beginning of their relationship. They were stuck regretting that their relationship was no longer like that *without actually doing anything or taking any steps to make it better going forward*. Even at the end! Lots of regret but very little shown of their growth (individually or as a couple). That's what frustrated me the most about this story.

The sci-fi stuff does require a lot of suspension of disbelief but they do an okay job world-building their own rules with what's possible.

The timeline is so unrealistic. It took 2 days to "love" a cyber "person" with no real personality of their own; he was like a 1-dimensional puppy. The story jumps around abruptly and simultaneously doesn't give enough build-up to either the past human relationship or the current cyber one.

There are some hot intimate moments and there is kissing and making out. Unfortunately, the intimacy lacked emotional depth, so it felt flat and unsatisfying to me.

The audio track was really low quality. Most of the time it sounds like listening through a phone call or under water, especially whenever Wen played music. It's bearable, but definitely noticeable. It's so bad I'm wondering if it was an issue with where I streamed it from or if it is indeed the original sound? (Found on GagaOOlala Nov 2023).

Other than the idea of the plot and the decent acting, this felt like a waste of time.

Refreshing plot

Intriguing plot, it was refreshing and unique.

Acting by main cast was decent, everyone did his part. The psychological aspects of the story kept me on the edge.

I would have liked to have more background info on how their relationship broke down that led to each one’s subsequent actions.

BEST PART: It’s good to see an Asian LGBTQ story premised on a plot other than external forces against the nature of their relationship. Kudos to whoever wrote this. I’d love to see more writers get this creative.

Strange kind relationship

This does have a sci-fi feel to it. As unrealistic as it is that an phone app can summon a hologram (or a virtual person anyway). It also is part psychological thriller. I really liked that it showed a long-term relationship of two guys, even though it is going through tough times.

Basically this movie turned the idea of dating apps and took it one step further. What if there were virtual companions that were customized to your exact desires. The skin ship is out of this world, brilliantly shot. Lin was adorable when he came but as the story progressed you start wondering what's really going on. This movie talks about something extremely common in most relationships. You never know if you are truly in love or if you're confusing it with some other feeling. About the rut every relationship goes through and how people grapple with confused feelings of attachment and simultaneous resentment. Not too sad, but it is emotional.

Overall : A happy ending, but a rollcoster.

Wow..

This Movie honestly left me so shocked at the end! I've never watched a BL like this before and honestly I kinda liked it. I will say it there is definitely a big twist! It was very interesting how things ended up (:. Music wise , there wasn't even really any music to rate except for when Hao Wen sings. I will say his vocals were great. The acting was pretty decent in my opinion. Even though this movie was different and I enjoyed watching it, I do not see myself personally rewatching it. I will say I'm okay with the way it ended, even though there were parts of the movie that made me question the ending and if I actually liked it.

Unique and powerful BL

Let me start off by saying that this is a really unique BL movie. It's sci-fi theme, but it handles a more realistic not-so-fairytale romantic situation.
I thought that the story was absolute gold. It has a deeper meaning to it. "Can love be replaced?" is the question you ask yourself while watching this movie. I think it was very powerful, in this deeper sense.
The cinematography was really well-done, and it was almost artistic at some points, in my opinion.
The actors were great! I saw nothing lacking here.
I definitely would give this movie a shot. It brings you through many different thoughts and emotions towards a bumpy relationship.

Wow! Great movie!

This was a unique, badass, sci-fi twist on a BL! I really enjoyed it. I love BL’s that go outside the box of typical BL storylines. The acting in this movie was amazing. And again, the plot! Wow! This is a movie about seeking love, how far would you be willing to go for that “perfect love”, and once you obtain it, is it even what it seems.... The actors are hot, and there’s a lot of sexy scenes to accompany this unusual, very creative storyline. I really can’t say much more without dropping spoilers, you really just need to watch it for yourself! I really enjoyed it. I recommend you watch it.

Okay, first of all, I loved it.
I found myself replying the 10 minutes over and over again until the next episode was out. I became so addicted to it. But let me got further into it:

The story: well, I gotta say, the story wasn’t something absolutely unique and difficult to tell, and nothing never done before. But it was still very well thought through, with a good concept and something you could good accomplish in 80 minutes. The pacing just felt absolutely right (even tho they had just 10 minutes per episode (storytelling is way more easier when you don’t have the limit of an episode like in a movie)) and not rushed, and you still felt connected with the characters cuz each of them got a proper introduction. It fully accomplished its purpose, the main goal was to create an easy going, little story which was pretty light hearted. (And the amount of cute jealousy and little interactions were sooo nice to watch)

Acting/ cast: my favorite criteria!
The actors were soo good, omg. The age gap of 9 years between the two main Leads wasn’t noticeable at all and the chemistry was insane.
The other actors were well chosen as well.

Music: that’s a point, which is not that high in ranking for me. It was good overall, but it wasn’t special. My criteria for excellent OSTs are if I can still remember it after sometime and want to jam to it, which wasn’t the case here, but still, while watching it fitted and made me feel comfortable while watching.

Rewatch value: this one is high again because like I already said, I replayed all the episodes already a hundred of times cuz it was easy to watch and made me happy.

Honorable mentions: I’m glad korea made the step and finally produced a BL series again (after (how it felt) ages), because Korean series have such a high Production standard and overall they never disappoint! I have to talk about the easy story telling again, cuz Thats exactly what they wanted to produce, and easy small story, since they made the step and finally produced a high quality BL series again (since I see so many people here who criticize this point.) they wanted to start easy. That’s also why this show was directed mainly to the non Asian viewers and to “introduce” some people in the BL world .I hope they won’t get turned down even if there’s bad feedback...

And yeah, that’s it :)

When tolerance runs out what then?

I didn't expect to like this movie as much as I did. The plotline is a little insane and fanciful but it entertained me. When you've been with your partner for 10 years, is the love the same or have you just grown accustomed to eachother? When the tolerance runs dry what happens then? You long for something new. When left alone to your own literal devices, you crave companionship.

That is what ultimately happens with Xiao Feng and Hao Wen, the tolerance for eachother wears out; Xiao Feng gets annoyed by Hao Wen's piano playing and Hao Wen gets annoyed by Xiao Feng's presence cause he can't seem to find the inspiration for his music anymore and it leads them to seek understanding and love from an app that gives them a companion that seems all too real to be true. Can an artificial heart fill the void of human love though?

I personally enjoyed the acting in this movie and loved the chemistry between the actors. Not much to say on that except I felt every emotion and never felt stale.

The music was beautiful ( mainly the songs composed by Hao Wen) but didn't leave much of an impression.

The visual fx were great.

I wouldn't mind watching it again out of pure enjoyment or when I have nothing else to watch.
