Action: Top Favourite Genre

I am really an action junkie. I always need my dose of good action and explosions. Forget about the plot in most action films because it's not that important compared to gunsplay and action scenes choreography. My favourite action director is without doubt John Woo, not only in Asia but he's also amongst my favourite action directors in the world. His heroic-blooshed genre owned it all. He's followed by Tsui Hark. I literally never get enough of them. Samurai (especially Chanbara), Martial Arts, Wuxia and Gangster films have lots of action in them but I will skip most of them here since they have their specific lists. As usual the order and the general rating have nothing to do with each other. The order is dedicated for the action value of the film.
