From this list I have watched and recommend I'm Sorry I Love you and Delightful Girl, Choon Hyang. For tearjerkers there's also Wonderful Life, and other interesting ones are Sweet 18 and Goong.
Not detective? So no crimes to investigate and solve?
It's been a year since I saw this and I don't have that much of an impression about it, but if I remember correctly they had minor cases not that interesting and without much mystery about them.
This is an interesting drama I do recommend it but please do watch the Parallel episode 10 for a complete closure. I also want to say that I'm really glad Yamazaki picked this role because it certainly is something different from what he has been doing and it does let you see a different side of him as an actor.
I agree with all your choices! Except for Tunnels no Minassan... only because I've never watched it before O_O…
I was going to add that show as a bonus, but I thought the article will get longer. I actually love that show and have made softsubs for some episodes and shared them on my LJ.
How do you watch Japanese variety shows?? It's hard to find.
You can find most of them raw online if you search by the date and name (preferably in japanese). And for subbed episodes the best option is to look in livejournal communities. For Shabekuri episodes I use this site http://japanvarietyshow.com/
You make me go back in time! I watched practically all the taiwanese dramas you mentioned and I agree with you I really loved them back then but I wouldn't rewatch them now because I'm afraid to shatter my precious memories LOL (My favorites were Smiling Pasta, My Lucky Star and Tokyo Juliet) Meteor Garden was sooo low budget!!
OMG! This drama was terrible, please don't waste your time with this one. The story started ok but it went crazy mod on later on, the villain was waful and the situation was pretty unbelievable.
Meteor Garden was sooo low budget!!
he/she is divorced or has kids!"
I would add when they oppose because he/she doesn't have parents!! I also hate that
