I liked this drama. With the majority of lakorns being dramatic for the heck of it or having crazy 2-D delusional characters, I have to say this drama was a nice breath of fresh air. You have a headstrong kick-ass FL and supporting characters that do more than to be entertaining. ML isn't too shabby either. My fav character has to be hands down the spurned wife, P'Nat. She was more than just a crazy villain, as we're able to see the motivations behind who she is and why she does certain things. I felt for her the most, and was honestly on her side for the majority of the lakorn because when it came down to it, the FL's sister stole her husband from her and it was because of something she couldn't control (this is where I really felt sorry for her because she was infertile and goddammit that's not her fault). It was off-putting to see the FL's sister be so nice, because if she was so nice then why be with someone who's taken...I was kind of annoyed by her near the end.

I also loved P'Nat's fashion LOL. Fashion is usually not something I pay attention to in dramas, but everything she was wearing was something I wanted to wear it too.

I also didn't like the second ML; I'm not sure if it's his character or the actor but I felt like most of the time his expressions weren't appropriate to the situation at hand. I felt no emotion from him, and he felt like a robot to me. He was only really alive when he was with P'Nat, and honestly I was shipping him with her more than the FL's sister.

My favorite part of the lakorn was the mother-child relationships; all were really touching. In particular, the ML and his adoptive mother's relationship touched me the most. She raised him despite being not related at all and it really hearkens to the idea of family being more than just blood; it's about unconditional love and support. I like how the adoptive mom doesn't hate the bio mom of the ML, and is understanding because of something that I believe; that not everyone is meant to or knows how to be a mom.

It took me a while to finish this lakorn. Why? Because I'm someone who's driven primarily by romance when watching dramas, and while it was here, I wasn't really feeling it. This is not a romantic drama, the romance being more of an element and it was done okay.

All in all, I'd recommend watching if you want to watch something with not much bs, a great storyline and fleshed out characters. Don't expect heavy romance. Music was alright, nothing to write home about. Not sure I'd re-watch it tbh, it'd only be to look at what P'Nat is wearing and looking for something similar.

Beautiful friendship makes life more delicious..

What I love the most from this drama is the friendship between 3 main female lead! Their friendship is just beautiful despite their characters are so different from each other but somehow i think they complete each other and they always be there for each other!!! I just love all the conversation in this drama I think the scriptwriter make it so real that it somehow makes me can relate to certain line. The romance well despite the title said delicious romance but I think their friendship and each of the character life struggle is more interesting!

Between their childhood and current timeline, the acting from both timeline is just amazing! All the actresses potray their charactesr so well which make this drama even better!

This drama is so light and I think you can bingewatch it in one sitting without feeling bored but instead you will feel happy, you will laugh, sad, upset and the characters will also grow on you. I would love to rewatch it again just to feel it all over again!

Remember the really important people in your life while you can....

I started watching this short movie a bit uninterested. Though lately I discovered that I like these short movies a lot, since the have a very concentrated message and usually you have a lot to learn from them.

The story is really touching and warm and it has a very strong message on "Carpe diem"....and I think that in modern times and even more so now in COVID times we should really appreciate the people we love and show them that we love them.
The story is pretty simple: an orphan is emotionally "adopted" by a younger boy who supports him during childhood and adolescence....as they continue to grow, at some point they stat to drift apart due to the differences in their life, including sexual orientation.

Years after, Adam find out that KU is gone....and is filled with regrets for failing to keep his promise to always celebrate his birthday with him..especially after he realizes how much Ku has really loved him and what he meant for him.....too late though....

So beautiful...and sad!!! I liked everything about this movie: script, directing, acting, music!!! Remarkable short movie.....both actors were great and I totally liked KU...I do hope he will have more opportunities to act in the future. I noticed Adam Lin since Jump the boy series and I like him a lot too!!!

30 wonderful poetic minutes.....you definitely should watch....

Disappointing!

I rarely give low scores and I love classics but I couldn't stand watching this drama. 20 episodes and I watched all episodes by skipping. The FL character is so lame, clueless and cries when there is no need to but is projected as a leader who deserves to be a scholar.. I was bored but I don't drop dramas usually so finished it! There was talk about pride when it wasn't needed. She didn't seem manly either. Actually all the characters felt lame to me except for Song Joongki's character. Upto 15 episodes, I felt story had not moved. It was slow and a very disappointing drama for me. Overall, it was an unappealing drama.

**Disclaimer: I don't follow the book, manga, or anime. I also had no idea what this drama was about before I started watching it. Basically picked it up because I was bore & my friend said I would appreciate the female character. Note: I normally never like watching Asian drama because all female lead tends to be very 1-D in character. They don't seem to exist any sense of humor. Either they are the embodiment of virtue, innocent, or dumb...and zero in-between.

My first impression of this series was more like WTH? Is this a troll drama? Some people said they found it confusing at first. But I think if you game you will understand the early references. At first, I only watched it because the drama was so different from my expectation of a wuxia drama (even for a comedy). I just wanted to see what was going to happen next. Than I got suck in and yelp..I finished it in 3 days. I then had to go back to re-watched the whole thing because I completed the series so fast I wasn't sure WTH I just watched.

Story line: I think the story will be better appreciated by guys. It's action pack like a gaming journey, little romance, and strong buddy friendships. It has a very Shonen manga vibe. Overall, I actually like the story because it starts really funny but gets meaningful at the end.

Acting: Everyone was good at their role. People disliked the main female lead but I actually find it refreshing. Like wow, finally a female character who is shamelessly herself. I also liked the female actress because I feel many Asian actresses would refuse to showcase the expression that she did. I can see why they cast her for the role.

Music: I think there was only 3 songs in this series but they were used effectively so no complaint. I have one currently on repeat.

Rewatch Value: I rewatched the whole thing so I would say yes.

Overall: 10/10. Did not know what to expect. Was more entertaining and enjoyable than I'd anticipated. 10/10 would recommend for my brothers, gaming and guy friends. Also, I pray they do a second season because I want to know what happens next.

Had potential

This drama I was really looking forward to it, but sadly I was slightly disappointed, in the sense that he had so much potential if they had just expanded the story line and give it more screen time, its one of those dramas you watch in one sitting if you have literally an hour to spare in your lunch period.

There was actually no real story to it and it just played along, 500 year old vampire kills his first love, and then falls in love again with a pure blood, only to die himself cuz he too afraid to bite his new love. And that is it!! that's the whole story.

The episodes were toooooo short like 8 minutes the longest being 18 minutes, the chemistry between the two were off but like I said if this was a little longer they may grown on me, but sadly this drama just didn't work for me.

Overall: Short / Sad / & could have been better.

NARAKK

Omg I have so much to talk about.

First of all, this show is just adorable in every way possible. From the songs, to the friendship and much more !!!!
We are used to see series during the uni time but they are less series in high school time. AND I'M LEAVING FOR THIS! High school romance is so cute and they really exploited it well. I feel that now, people like when their is a lot of "X-rated" scenes (you know what I mean by that), but when we take a look at series that doesn't have that much of skinship like 2gether, they were still super popular.
In my school president, high school romance / first love is talked about and it makes it a lot more appealing. Just like in k-drama who are known to be more laid-back, I was living for their simple and daily interactions. A kiss on the cheek ? whaou that was cute. Holding hands ? omgggg.
Gemini and Fourth really portrayed perfectly their roles. I was waiting every week to see them again. They were bringing light to my life.

You might think with all that I said that it might be cringe but it is absolutely the opposite. I was screaming, running in my house or even more just because they were so adorable. Every I see them I feel like a proud mom.

Second of all, their friendship. They seemed so close and portrayed the insecurities of a teen dreaming of something and not being alone during his journey.
The way they were helping each other but still had some fights made it more real.
The happiness on their faces whenever they were all together. Tiw was such a mature friend helping Tinn all the time. They also helped each other all the time when needed.

All of the characters are well written. They all grow and all of the characters developments are well made.
Awards time :
- Tinn our favorite green flag
- Tiw the best best friend
- Tinn's dad our favorite shipper
- Gun's mom our favorite helper
and I could go on for every single characters...

We can't talk about my school president without talking about music.
Every episode a new song, that is genius. My playlist is now packedddd. Every song is so meaningful and linked to the episode which add a lot more meaning to both of them.
The genuine smile on their faces whenever they were all playing their song >>>
You've got my back is all the time in my head but i'm not complaining at all.
Ford, Satang, Fourth and Gemini voices are so beautiful!!!

I could go on for hours but I will say one last thing : If you haven't watched it yet, then DO IT NOW.

I'm pretty sure that Gemini and Fourth will have a long and awesome career in front of them, they are so talented. As a proud mom, I will follow their work closely and you should too. (They are playing in Moonlight chicken and you should also see that).

It's a short movie, 27 minutes long. Didn't have high expectations. Practically no synopsis, didn't like Ying Er since her role in Sealed with a Kiss, and I didn't know the male lead. But the beginning captured me because of the high tech effects. I loved how the movie just simply captured me in. Since it's a short movie, if you're in for a little sweet romance, definitely mark this one on your list!
A BIT ON THE STORY: Basically there's this love department where they extract or input memories of love. Marriage, divorce, break ups, separation, etc. This department is able to extract these memories and when couples want these memories restored, they can also do it. This movie revolves around future high tech.
Though I didn't really rate it that high on my list, I'm giving it an 8 for this review. I found it a deeply emotional story line. Very touching, very life-related. If I say what it teaches now, then there wouldn't be a reason for you to go watch that now.
All I can say is that, you can definitely expect what the ending will be but the events that lead up to it are so sweet~ Don't expect much in the acting field though. I certainly like Ying Er in this short movie compared to SWAK. Definitely re-watching now just because I definitely didn't expect the twist!

Such a beautiful drama! I wish I had watched it when I originally thought about watching it!! So realistic and heartwarming. The perfect story for all of them, and everything worked out for the best in a happy ending!! The acting was superb, but I wouldn't think of anything less with Lee Bo Young... She is such a believably fantastic actor. After seeing Lee Sang Youn in "Angel Eyes", I wanted to see him in another drama. His beautiful smile, dimples, and shining eyes... He's so handsome and such a good actor, too! The entire cast was amazing and perfectly matched to their characters.

All in all, I truly loved this drama; and rated it 5 Stars for everyone to watch and enjoy ;) The only thing that held me back from watching it was that it had 50 episodes... Honestly, though, once I made the commitment for the 50 episodes, I was so glad I did! Yes, it was long; but the time passed relatively quickly because the story line was so good, thanks to the writers! No fast-forwarding through any of it. It's just worth every minute of watching time. Try it! You will love it!!

I was born to be cruel you fool!

Carter Wong gives mama’s boys a good name when he takes on Chen Sing’s flying guillotine wielding baddie. Decapitations and amputations come steadily at the hands of kung fu’s most bizarre weapon.

The plot is thin and has numerous confusing plot developments, many never explained. The basic structure of the story is that Carter must go to the Shaolin monks to borrow a mystical healing handbook to save his ill mother's life. In order to gain access to it he has to fight his way through three levels of shaolin fighters. When he ultimately succeeds, he and the monks are betrayed. In order to retrieve their special book stolen by the 4th Prince who has grand ambitions they are set on a collision course with the master of the guillotines.

The guillotines and other secret weapons as well as hand to hand combat are employed to deadly ends. Some fight scenes are better than others, many including a healthy dose of wire-fu. Carter Wong wasn’t as stiff in this movie as he has been in some. Chen Sing always makes for a compelling bad guy, even in a bedraggled gray wig and beard.

The Fatal Flying Guillotines looked like it had been mostly remastered. Even at that there were scenes which went from clear and wide screen to grainy full screen images. The cinematography was pretty decent for the budget and era. Much of the fighting took place outside in some very nice scenery.

Guillotines kept the action going almost non-stop with double and triple crosses all in the name of gaining the knowledge of the spinning weapons. Many kung fu films suffer from an abrupt ending, and The Fatal Flying Guillotines was no exception, but not as bad as some. Overall, it was an entertaining 1970’s kung fu film, though maybe not the strongest of the guillotine movies.

I'm obsessed!!!

I really love OffGun's chemistry and was excited to see their new project together. I was pleasantly surprised when I was coming back every week to watch it for the excitement of the story and not just for their chemistry (which was still absolutely amazing btw defo the cherry on top). The second couple DanYok, which I haven't seen these actors together before (don't know if they were in another drama together) their chemistry was off the roof. I really loved how their story was real, mistakes were made, feelings were hurt but isn't that with all relationships? I loved their development.
Anyways onto SeanWhite (OffGun). The story of White going undercover in his identical twins life, Black to discover who put him in a coma really kept me on my toes. To me it was quite obvious who beat Black up but it was still portrayed in a really good way. This was definitely a slow burn/ enemies to lovers (I LOVE THAT) as Sean and Black do not get along, so White acting as Black made both of them butt heads at the start but alas they get their happy ending.
This covered some really heavy topics as well, not just your fluff action you get in other BL's, this portrayed fighting for rights of those who get discriminated against and holding those high in power accountable for breaking the rules. Sean, Gram, Yok, Tod and Black (well White) are apart of a 'rebel' group which try to expose these people by doing various stunts to gain social awareness and to put a stop to their illegal businesses. All the people in the group have good story for why they are doing this so it really brings the watcher more joy when they succeed in their little adventures.
Overall, amazing show, really eye-opening and the romance was absolutely amazing, not too much where is dilutes the action of the story but enough to be screaming internally when watching the cute moments (and trust me there is a lot)

This drama was good, but frustrating in terms of the story and some of the characters.

The writing was the biggest issue I had, while being sometimes riveting there was too much back and forth, not a lot explained, wishy-washy feelings and just not enough clarity.

There were a few things touched on and left unexplained I thought - such as a certain gang leaders propensity to stare at the older sister like he couldn't believe she was really there. (There is a history there, it's quite interesting, I just wished it would have been fleshed out more.) I actually would have liked to have something romantic happen there, I think the older sister deserved it after what she had been through with the second male lead.

I thought So Ji Sub was brilliant and endearing, his character was probably the best written of the bunch and wonderfully played.

Kim Hyun Joo as the younger sister (Kim Yun Hee) was appropriately spunky in the beginning and she played her part moderately well - she and So Ji Sub had brilliant chemistry, however I began to roll my eyes at her character the minute she and second lead met. Her character had been good up until then. After that, as much as I liked Kim Hyun Joo - she couldn't really save the affection I once held for the character. I think it was more the writing than anything. As above I mention the wishy-washy feelings, this is where it is.

Kim Ji Ho as the older sister Kim Tae Hee, An okay character I felt, however she could have been so much more. Again - she was brought down by the writing in the latter part of the story, but she did have some stronger moments, more-so I think than Kim Hyun Joo. As above, I wished they had used that history I mentioned above and done something more for her, in the end she was more of a weak fourth wheel for the main love triangle and TBQH I think she deserved more.

Han Jae Suk as Jang Jae Hyul, it doesn't help my review in that I never cared for his character to begin with... I didn't really get him to be honest, there was no sincerity there for me (as a character) I just don't understand how he managed to have two girls (smart as they are meant to be) under his spell.

On the whole, I think there were parts that could have been done better, I liked the story - it kept me to my seat in general and I only fast-forwarded through a few bits.

Perfection

If I could give this show higher than a 10 then I 100 percent would. This served as my first Phillipino Bl series, and it has blown all my expectations out of the water. I thought I had seen good series, but they are nothing compared to Like In The Movies. I was recommended to watch this series, and this was literally the best-recommended thing I have ever received. Such a real depiction of a gay romance, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Where do we start?

Let's Dive In.

I think Thai BLs can learn a thing or two from this series. It didn’t involve a 3rd person in the way, or some dumb trope about “I don’t like guys, I only like him” type shit. This shit was REAL and I mean Real as in Realistic. This show had me hooked from the start as soon as Karl saw Vlad dancing in his unit, I could tell that this series was about to be THAT bitch. I love the balance between the tough subjects and the humor. I mean, the humor was spot on. I laughed at pretty much everything. What I loved even more about this series is that Vlad was open about himself and the struggles that he goes through with his family. Us just watching the moments that Karl starts to fall in love with Vlad was so sentimental and so raw. These two actors have such amazing chemistry that it’s insane. Don’t get me started on when Karl gave Vlad his first slow dance. My heart couldn’t contain the emotions that I had. The vision of them dancing with the lights and all the other stuff, dude, I couldn’t take it. Another really raw moment was when Vlad and Karl got caught kissing, which wasn’t a very big deal, but in Karl's eyes, it changed everything. He was being real about his emotions, which was the best part about all of it. And then Vlad starts crying, so I start crying and it was so good.

Talking about that scene, let’s talk about the soundtrack. Good googly-moogly, I have never had so many emotions from just the song itself. Fools by Nathan and Mercury is such a FUCKING BOP. I have had that song on replay for two weeks straight after I had watched it. And I love who when moments were happening, we could see the lyrics of the song, and it just connected so well with whatever situation was going on.

The best part about this entire series, and I mean the best part, is between these two scenes: Karl having the heart-to-heart conversation with his Uncle, and Karl envisioning his alternate ending with Vlad. Both had me weeping like a fucking baby. Those were once again such raw and real emotions, and I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved the ending, it one of the best endings in BL by far. Karl is still figuring himself out, and even though he had come to terms with him being gay, there is still so much else he has to get through. Also, in the credits, Tay and New from DBK are mentioned as a thank you, which was really nice to see that others' series help to inspire others with their work.

This series rocked. We definitely deserve to see more of the realistic depictions that this series has shown. I’m very hopeful for a season 2, and I’m pretty sure we’re getting one. A definite recommend, and a definite favorite.

Great!

It needs to be noted beforehand, I watched the dubbed version on Youtube.

I had huge expectations going into this series, and was not at all disappointed. The battles were well done, it has political intrigue aplenty, and the acting seemed like it was well done overall (even though it can be hard to tell when watching in a different language). Special mention also needs to be made about the costume and set pieces, which were very well done and not at all overdone. It is all very befitting of the time period, and the primitive technology can be felt at each turn. I did feel there were some slower episodes, but I also felt they were necessary to build upon the law intensive plotlines. There are definitely a few surprises along the way as well, despite the fact that this is historically based.

A word of warning, the dub can be a little rough to get into at first. You get used to it after a while, and I did think the voice actors did a pretty good job. The major issue is that there were not a lot of voice actors, so they could only disguise their voices so much between characters. Another thing is due to copyright, some scenes had the audio completely taken out, and there were 3 or 4 episodes that had the audio out of sync (fixable if you have two windows open to sync it yourself). It was kind of a pain to deal with all these issues, but if you're as keen on seeing this series as I was, it's still worth it.

I do have a few complaints about the story, however. It doesn't stick 100% to historical accuracy, for one. And it can sometimes be hard to wrap your head around some of the logic behind character actions. I also was completely baffled by the deaths of two major characters at the end and the way it was conveyed. It made absolutely no sense, was intentionally vague (almost to the point of ambiguity), and just left me feeling cheated. A show that tries to portray itself as serious and realistic shouldn't all of a sudden leap into the fantastical for one scene, as it completely pulls you out of it and leaves you scratching your head.

It's hard not to get into the positives of the story without getting into spoiler territory, so all I'll say is that if you like these sorts of costume dramas, it's absolutely worth giving this a watch.

I began this drama because of Nishikido Ryo, but completely fell in love with Takizawa Hideaki! The way he acts is amazing; not on par with Nishikido Ryo, but they don't over shadow or compete with each other... in some ways, a complete match and in other ways, completely different. I like their styles of acting very much and plan to follow them from now on; minus the "stalker-ish" way it sounded. I've followed Nishikido from Ryusei no Kizuna; the way he seems in this story, slightly (in a teeny tiny way) reminds me of his character from that story, if you watch this, you may know what I mean but you also may not and/or disagree with me. Also, my time is 4:15am, so I may be speaking nonsense. Anyway... The ending was a complete surprise, yet at some points I came close to guessing what was about to happen. I didn't recognize Haru at all, which was surprising, but she was wonderful in this series; as was Kumada Sea and Sasaki Kuranosuke was positively frightening. The cast in this was iffy to me in a few parts of the series (namely one or two persons specifically, I wont name names) but it's easy to get over if you focus on the story and not the people... which is sort of hard to do since you're watching the story that focuses on peoples lives. Well, either way, this drama was a wonderful story and I've never seen anything like it! Definitely a recommendation!
