Pure Chaotic Brilliance

Wow, it was soooo good. It's a real shame this drama isn't more popular—it's an absolute hidden gem. If you're looking for a dark comedy, this one is totally for you. It made me laugh out loud more times than I can count.

I love how the story is told. Each episode unfolds from a different character's perspective, and the way it all comes together is nothing short of amazing. The storyline feels fresh and refreshing, and the way it balances suspense with black comedy is masterfully done. I watched the entire thing in one day because I simply could not stop.

The acting is top-notch across the board. Kim Hye-soo is magnetic as Park Kyung-hee, the popular influencer who seems to have it all. Kim Ji-hoon plays her husband Lim Jae-hong, and Cho Yeo-jeong (from Parasite) is perfectly unsettling as the neighbor Su-jeong. The cast is just incredible.

It's pure chaos—crazy, unhinged, and completely addictive. You cannot look away. The production values are top-notch, and the camera work is excellent. As usual, the rating on MDL is disappointingly low—what else can you expect? I'm not surprised the drama is so well-made given the talent behind it: director Lee Chang-hee (A Killer Paradox, Strangers from Hell) and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk (Squid Game).

It's a shame there aren't more dramas like this. Pure entertainment from start to finish.

The Idea Was There, But Was Poorly Executed

Dinosaur Love was a difficult series for me to fully enjoy. Unfortunately, many of the events in this series felt forced, rushed, or simply unnatural, making it difficult to become emotionally invested in what was happening.

The series seems to lean into the idea of love at first sight, with Dino. However, the romance often lacked the development needed to make those feelings feel believable. Rather than allowing relationships to naturally progress, the story frequently seemed to jump from one emotional moment to another without giving the characters enough time to establish genuine connections.

One of the biggest examples of this was the situation involving Mek, Rak, and Khram. Mek cheating on Rak with his best friend was already a complicated situation, but the way the series handled the aftermath made the entire storyline feel even more problematic. Khram knowingly entered a relationship with his best friend’s boyfriend, and was overjoyed when the breakup happened. His desire to remain with Mek while also maintaining his friendship with Rak, seemingly without facing meaningful repercussions.

The series then attempted to shift the audience’s sympathy even further by portraying Khram experiencing a mental breakdown and self harming after being cut off. This did not feel thoughtful nor impactful. But felt more like a narrative device designed to make the audience feel sorry for him.

At the same time, Mek’s character portrayed more in the wrong felt weird. Villainizing him by having him become aggressive and the attempted SA felt random. What bothered me most was the inconsistency in how the series handled morality. Even the apologies throughout the series felt insincere.

That said, Dinosaur Love did have some genuinely interesting ideas. There were moments where I could see the potential for a much stronger series underneath everything. The problem was that these ideas felt randomly inserted rather than properly integrated into the overall narrative. It often felt as though the writers had numerous concepts they wanted to explore and tried to fit all of them into the story without carefully considering how one event should naturally lead into the next.

While the cast had potential, the acting was inconsistent, and certain performances made the series feel more like a YouTube video or student project than a polished drama.

In almost every major aspect from writing, pacing, character development, acting, and overall execution, the series fell short for me. Yet, somehow, I still found myself enjoying parts of it, even when the story is making questionable decisions. Maybe it is the potential hidden beneath the messy execution, or simply the fact that I wanted to see where all of these increasingly chaotic storylines would eventually lead.

Ultimately, Dinosaur Love feels like a series with plenty of ideas but not enough development to bring those ideas together effectively. Despite all of its flaws, I can’t say I completely regretted watching it.

Such a beautiful drama

It is simply a stunning show and truly one of the best series ever aired.
I returned to watching K-dramas after a break of several years following a strong recommendation from my mother, who told me this was the first show I had to watch to dive back into the genre—and she was absolutely right. It is an addictive, captivating, and deeply emotional series.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the show is the rare glimpse it provides into daily life in North Korea compared to the South, portraying the stark contrasts and human connections between people from both sides of the border.

Beyond the central romance, the supporting characters add so much warmth, humor, and genuine friendship as they help Se-ri navigate the impossible reality she finds herself in. It is also beautiful to trace the subtle twists of fate and see how the leads' paths crossed long before the main incident.

The onscreen chemistry between the two leads is extraordinary and practically glows through the screen—it's no coincidence they fell in love and got married in real life!

As for the ending, it is somewhat bittersweet and melancholic. While they do stay together, having to maintain a long-distance relationship and only meet for brief moments abroad is painful, but given the political circumstances, it is far better than being apart forever.

It is a absolute must-watch for anyone who loves deep romance, love against all odds, and a deeply moving human story

KEEP AI SLOP AWAY FROM ART

AI needs to stay away from creative spaces. period.
I am disappointed because I desperately wanted this to be great, but idk.
The premise is fantastic. A zombie apocalypse BL. A breath of fresh air. Manhwa readers know how well such a plot can be executed. Do they do that here? I'll have to say no. There's a lot of inconsistencies & holes.
The obvious AI shitty music makes me want to throw my phone across the yard. Some of the special effects & the title sequence is also prompted. There has been great media before AI & is still after AI. There are literally a 100 other ways you can do this on a budget. Use them.
Lots of things that don't make logical sense. Like the magically appearing clothes & invisible neighbouring houses on aerial shots.
The make-up is atrocious, they look pastey white is most lightings.

The episodes are short & it has good pacing, so you won't get bored at all. It would've been soo much cooler if the makers had a better budget. I wish they would avoid these mistakes for their next project if there is one, because this one has potential.

Stranger Things But Make It Historical Joseon

I love love this drama until the last 1,5 eps.

They set up so many things so well. The world-building and the lore is so good. The multilayered plot twist is just *chef's kiss* because they show you some parts of the story and make you assume things and then turn it all on its head. Best part: all of it make sense (and someone who watch many mystery stories would've probably saw it from miles away) because they actually plant them early on.

Then it's kinda fall apart when they introduce deus ex machina and they don't even bother to explain it or show it early on. There are also few things that they set up and complitely gloss over at the end;

1. Gu-cheon's eyes. It basically enchances his visions so he can see rain drops clearly(?). And ofc he can see spirits again. But they also make sure to point out how it affects him a few times but we don't actually know the side effect and what harms (if any) its caused to his body.
2. Primordial gwimae(?) and the chain. They suddenly appear in the last ep and we get no explaination whatsoever. Like what happeed after he defeat the crown prince? Where did he go? How did he come back? I thought the sword came with a price, but he's ok at the end? Why can he leave the palace if he still have the chain? So many many unanswered questions and things they decide to gloss over.

But it's pretty good horror, action, mystery drama. And to end this on a positive note: the baby ggeomeoksali is my favorite i love him so much.

Surprisingly , it was most decent for all the versions

I watched all the version and this is only the drama i can finish since they got 10 episode so it was more fast paced so you can watch with ease and the main cast was perfect Nakajima Kento is most perfect male lead for this. Koshiba Fuka's acting is quite natural and not wooden like chinese version or too loud like korean version. Akaso Eiji looks perfect compare to second lead from another version even though i never fond of his acting. This drama has less angst since they need to cramped the time and the ending was too rushed. The chemistry could be better but i can tolerate because lack of episode to make relationship development. Actually, i rewatched this drama 3 times this year.

Best High school bl drama

Yujeen(Lee) and Yugene(Ter) have genuinely made me want to come back and watch this drama every single week. I went into Class Crush Crisis expecting a cute high-school BL, but I did not expect to become this emotionally invested in these two and their relationship. 🥹

There is something about their chemistry that makes their relationship incredibly easy to get attached to. Their happy moments are genuinely adorable, and watching them grow closer made me want to keep watching just to see where their relationship would go. The characters feel young and believable, and I really enjoyed the way their feelings developed throughout the story.

But then… episodes 6 and 7 happened. 😭

I am currently on episode 7 and honestly, my heart is struggling. Watching Yujeen and Yugene go through everything they have in these recent episodes has been painful because by this point I am already so attached to them. I went from smiling at their cute moments to sitting there wondering why the writers decided that my happiness was no longer important. 😂💔

What I appreciate most is that the drama has managed to make me actually care about the characters rather than simply watching because it is a BL. The emotional moments have more impact because you understand how much these relationships mean to them. Even when things become difficult, I still find myself hoping for the best for everyone involved.

I also really love the overall high-school atmosphere. It has the sweetness, awkwardness and emotional chaos that make these types of dramas so enjoyable. The cast has done a great job, and I would honestly love to see more of them in future projects.

And now we have reached the biggest problem: there are only 8 episodes. 😭

How am I supposed to emotionally recover from episodes 6 and 7 and then wrap everything up with ONE episode?! I haven’t even finished episode 8 yet, so I don’t know how everything is going to end, but I am already begging for more.

I really hope we get to see more from this cast and these characters in the future because I am absolutely not ready to let them go.

For now, I’m giving this drama a 10/10 because clearly I have suffered enough to earn that rating. 😂🥹❤️

And seriously… please give us a special episode. At least one. I am begging.

"Knot" worth watching.

If ABO is your thing - this is bad.
If you like Boat/Oat as a pairing - this is still bad.

I made it through 10 episodes before feeling so irritated by Knot that I had to come and actually leave a review.

I really wanted to like Knot, to give it a chance. As something different, it would be refreshing to have a little more variety in the BL genre. But unfortunately, what Knot delivered was...tepid, frivolous, and left me disappointed.

Boat and Oat have so little chemistry it's painful - not even the special effects adding in 'pheromones' to make it seem like they're burning up helped convince me the characters were remotely together. (This is incredible since those two have chemistry just joking around together, that the show managed to kill that is...mind boggling.) The side characters sometimes felt preachy or were over-acting to the point of cringe/bad camp.

Episode 10 had one character emoting all over the place physically with nothing showing in face or tone other than some makeup effects to redden high points.

I want to say more but I don't have anything constructive to say and I'm not going to dunk on Knot for trying something and not hitting the mark. I will dunk on it for being almost unwatchable thanks to the execution, direction, and script.

I'm sorry, cast and crew. I'm sorry, fans. I wanted to be able to praise this show.

A Classic Worth Brewing Over

Definitely one of the classics. Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun-hye were superb! 🙌👏

Yoon Eun-hye was so convincing as Eun-chan, you really could believe she was a boy. And the emotions on their faces? You could actually feel them. Han-kyul’s pain when he finally knew for certain that Eun-chan was a girl was palpable. After watching him struggle so much with his feelings because he genuinely thought he was falling for a boy, that realization really hit. And you could feel Eun-chan’s struggle too — especially when she had to face the reality of how much she had hurt him. Both of them made it feel incredibly real.

The second leads, Lee Sun-kyun as Han-sung and Chae Jung-an as Yoo-joo, were great too. It’s hard not to like Han-sung. And I really liked how the love square was handled — no unnecessary scheming, no cartoon villains. Somewhere in the middle, things just started shifting. People changed, grew, and ended up moving in different directions. Much more satisfying than the usual love-triangle chaos.

I could watch this over and over and never get tired of it. This is one of those series that helped make K-dramas so popular in the first place — and it’s still one of my go-to rewatches. ❤️❤️❤️

My Bias, My Boss: Everyone Has the Wrong Idea, and It’s Wonderful

I am on episode 4, so this review is based mostly on where I am at now in my watch: The car apology scene.

The reason this rom-com is landing for me so well: it has nearly all the machinery that can make a rom-com irritating, but so far it keeps using that machinery for comedy rather than suffering.

The misunderstandings are the clearest example. There are *so many* of them, but they're generally plausible, funny, and allowed to resolve once they've served their purpose. The spy plot could easily have produced three episodes of Ha-gi treating Da-reum horribly. Instead, he figures out he's wrong, feels awful, tries repeatedly to apologize, and finally tells her exactly what he thought. She laughs until she can barely breathe and volunteers to catch the real mole. Done.

And the big misunderstanding, Da-reum believing Ha-gi is secretly in love with Chan, is almost functioning as an anti-angst device. She isn't jealous or threatened by Ha-gi and Chan because she thinks she's observing their tragic secret romance. Ha-gi doesn't yet understand why Chan and Da-reum bother him. Chan seems sufficiently decent that even if he does like her, I'm increasingly doubtful he'll turn it into some grim competition with his best friend. So the triangle exists, but everybody is standing on the wrong side of it. That's much more fun than two men glaring at each other for twelve episodes.

Even the antagonism is currently at manageable rom-com scale. SE is unscrupulous, and there's apparently a mole; the jealous coworker is nasty and probably sabotaged Da-reum's report; But nobody has yet emerged from a limousine announcing plans to destroy Appello, disinherit Ha-gi and have Da-reum deported. 😂

And the leads are simply very easy to spend time with. Da-reum is cheerful without being incompetent, and we're now discovering she's also a bit of a tease. Ha-gi is serious and socially stiff without being cold or cruel. Most importantly, they're already having fun together. That car scene wasn't some grand romantic set piece. It was an apology that turned into her laughing at him, declaring loyalty to his company, volunteering to become a counterspy and imagining herself in a television drama while he unsuccessfully tried not to smile at her.

That's exactly the sort of small interaction that makes me buy a romance.

So yes: cute people, increasingly cute together; lots of comedy; low-stakes obstacles; misunderstandings that actually *generate* jokes instead of making you scream JUST SAY THE SENTENCE; and enough plot to keep the fluff moving.

And Giant Chan is apparently riding in the back seat until further notice. 😂
