So Much More Than its Title
When I first heard of this show, I thought it would be a gimmicky show with no depth or value. It ended up becoming one of my favorite queer Thai dramas of all time.THE GOOD
- This show has some of the best character writing EVER from Thailand. Every single character (even those you think won't) get a developed and interesting storyline. Even though the plot of the show was already interesting on its own, the addition of such realistic and deep side characters made this show so special to me.
- The relationships in this show are brilliant. The grandpa and his grandson, the estranged dad and his gay brother, all the kids at the orphanage's friendship... This feels like such a full & realistic show thanks to those varied relationships.
- This show has so many deep lessons. Even going as far as building a backstory of the grandpa having his own homo-erotic friendship back in the day but never acting on it or even realizing it fully... Save's growth about his feelings for Guy... The gay uncle finally being accepted by his family... I was invested in all of them, and I feel like this show added so much to my life by watching it, which is very rare!
- The first few episodes of the show are so freaking hilarious, I never thought I'd see a grandpa reading omega verse yaoi, I was deceased lmao!
- This show was very satisfying and wrapped every single storyline very neatly, which is more than most Thai dramas can do! Again for the overall execution, it truly stood out so much to me!!!
THE BAD
- Not a huge problem for me but the chemistry between Guy and Save is giving BL from 6 years ago instead of a 2026 one. They're cute but compared to other pairings' chemistry, theirs felt a bit hesitant. However imo this show is much less a BL than a queer story so I don't think you should even watch it for the fanservice and shippey moments.
- This is a PBS show. Sometimes the scenes linger a bit too long or are paced slightly too slow, however I'd say the show managed to keep my interest throughout them all anyway.

it took me a while to finish watching, i stopped at episode 9 when it was airing and only continued two months after the series ended. to me, it was a little underwhelming because it lacked complexities but i think that was the point. it's overall a simple and straightforward university romance and i think that's what people love about it. i think the story's pace is really good, not too slow and not too quick, and i loved that. for teeteepor's first ever lead roles, they did such a good job, especially teetee. he was phenomenal.i think the conflict with qin's parents was remarkable to me because it really shows that a child's development is deeply affected by how they were raised and the environment they were in. and it only took a plain apology and a hug, which to me is kinda unrealistic. proves to show that all a child would ever want from their parent/s is affection. hits close to home.
p.s. the cinematography is just *chef's kiss*

THE enemies-to-lovers romcom
Finally, in the Lord's year of 2026, we finally have a Korean rom-com that ACTUALLY does both the romance and comedy right. Electric chemistry and a fast moving plot line with mind-bending twists that have you at the edge of your seat. The showstopper is the ML, Cha Se-Gye. It's been so long seeing the cold, arrogant CEO trope done right. Often times, they are straight-up assholes who are hyper-aggressive to prove their masculinity. Don't get me wrong, he's still an ass but NOT to her. I'm so soft for the ML is cold to everyone else but the FL cliche. And don't get me started on his eyes. The way he looked at her made me feel like I should be looking the other way. He's such yearner and his love language is definitely touch.
There was some doubt about the FL, since the actress fits the villain role so well. Lemme tell you, Seo-Ri blew it out of the park. Her vigor for justice and her energy to live life to the fullest is so well-done. She's such a lively character and it's no wonder Cha Se-Gye fell so hard for her.
The ending was also just so beautiful. I had low hopes since many dramas currently released has not been able to stick the ending. The finale is so important to me, it leaves such a bad taste when it's not done right. Thankfully, everyone's stories were wrapped so neatly and it truly was a happily ever after.

Great acting, torturous watch
Watching this drama felt like torture.Getting through the first few episodes was genuinely painful because the male lead's character was completely unlikeable. I kept waiting for him to grow on me, but it just didn't happen. If you manage to push through that rough start, the drama does get a little better and becomes more watchableâbut honestly? It was still too much for me.
The thought of sitting through another 8 long episodes? No. Just no.
What made it even harder was watching the female lead struggle and not being able to fight back. It was frustrating rather than engaging. By the end, I started skipping scenes just to get through it.
The acting was greatâI can't fault the performances. But great acting alone couldn't save this one for me. I just couldn't force myself to finish it.
Verdict: Great cast, unbearable watch. Only for those with a lot of patience.

A World I Still Carry After the Story Ended
I took some time to reflect after finishing this drama. I cried a lot when it ended, and even now it still feels difficult to fully move on from it. It has become something very special to my heart in a way I donât often experience with dramas, and I know it will stay with me for a long time. What lingers most is not any single twist or resolution, but the atmosphere the story leaves behind. It feels like being held inside a world that knew exactly what it wanted to be, and trusted itself completely from beginning to end. The shifts in tone âfrom humor to deep melodrama, from fantasy to quiet intimacy â never felt abrupt or disjointed to me. Instead, they seemed to follow an emotional rhythm that gradually reveals itself.
I also appreciated how the drama often feels like a quiet tribute to earlier drama traditions and classical tropes. As someone who has been watching dramas since the 2010s, there was something familiar and intentional in the way it draws from older narrative patterns, yet reshapes them with a more modern emotional sensibility, something I miss a lot in recent dramas.
As the story unfolded, the familiar genre elements â reincarnation, time shifts, fragmented identities â stopped feeling like separate narrative devices. They began to merge into a single emotional logic, where identity is not fixed but layered across time, carrying traces of different lives within the same continuity. The characters felt less like separate versions of themselves and more like expressions of something trying to reconnect.
The romance is built in a similarly restrained way. There is no reliance on rivalry or external competition to generate tension. Instead, the focus stays on recognition â on how connection persists even when memory, time, and circumstance keep pulling the characters apart.
The writing itself feels unusually tight. The dialogue is sharp, perceptive, and often quietly very clever in a way that really stands out if you understand Korean. I found myself laughing more than once at how precisely some lines land. Certain phrases stay in the mind long after they are spoken, because they feel so intentional and carefully placed, almost inevitable in hindsight. Nothing feels ornamental â everything seems to serve the emotional direction of the story.
The performances match this precision. Much of the emotion is carried through subtle physical detail, especially in quite scenes. It creates a sense that what matters most is happening slightly beneath language, in spaces where feeling is not fully articulated but still clearly understood.
By the end, the story does not settle into a single interpretation of its world. Its timeline, its metaphysical structure, even the fate of its Joseon counterparts remain open to different readings. That openness feels intentional, as if closure would diminish something meant to remain partially ungraspable, echoing the way history itself resists being fully grasped.
What remains strongest is the coherence of it all â the way writing, performance, pacing, and emotional logic align so closely. It stays in memory as a continuous emotional experience that slowly deepens the longer you sit with it afterward, as if asking you to stay a little longer before you leave.

A Strong Start That Slowly Lost Its Magic
Just a small disclaimer before I begin, this review comes purely from my personal experience watching the drama. Thereâs no hate, agenda, or ill intention behind anything I write here. These are simply the thoughts I had while watching, you might agree with some of my points, disagree with all of them, or fall somewhere in between and thatâs completely fine, we all connect with stories differently. This is just one viewerâs perspective, so letâs keep things respectful and appreciate that different opinions can coexist.Itâs been quite a while since I actually finished a drama from start to end, lately Iâve found myself dropping shows halfway through, sometimes even after just 2 or 3 eps, so the fact that I completed this one already says something.
What initially pulled me in was the premise, yep the sould-swapping, reincarnation, past lives, and a cold, arrogant male lead who was obviously destined to fall hard? Iâm sorry, but thatâs exactly the kind of setup that gets me every time. The trailers looked great, the concept sounded promising, for the first few eps, I was genuinely invested, the story felt intriguing, the pacing was engaging and I loved how this drama incorporated the joseon storyline alongside the present-day narrative, it added mystery and depth beyond the usual romantic comedy formula. What worked for me was that it wasnât relying solely on the romance, there were bigger conflicts, darker motivations and questions that kept me wanting answers, it felt like there was something more substantial beneath the fluffy surface.
Unfortunately, somewhere around episodes 7, 8, and the rest, i started losing interest. Itâs hard to explain, but the magic slowly faded, it stopped feeling like it was moving forward, charas development felt stagnant, the narrative started spinning its wheels, and everything became oddly flat, ar first I thought it was just a temporary slowdown cz many dramas need a few eps to find their footing but the deeper I got into this one, the more I felt like nothing particularly exciting was happening. The biggest example for me was seori, early she was fantastic, strong-willed, independent, awkwardly navigating a modern world she didnât understand and her joseon speech patterns made her genuinely entertaining to watch hut later on, especially once the romance became the main focus, she started losing some of the qualities that made her unique. I understand the intention, she's adjusting to modern life, becoming more comfortable, opening herself up emotionally but the transition didnât feel completely natural to me, It felt rushed, almost like the chara changed cz the plot needed her to, not cz she organically grew into that version of herself and honestly, this issue extends to the romance itself.
The relationship between seori and segye moved way too quickly for my taste, well in most dramas the first 7 or 8 eps are dedicated to denial, tension, emotional buildup, and gradual character bonding but here, it felt like they skipped several steps and jumped straight into romantic moments and the result is that I never fully bought into the relationship, they had cute scenes, sure but thatâs kind of the problem, it felt like the drama was prioritizing romantic scenes instead of building the emotional foundation necessary for those scenes to truly hit, a lot of their interactions felt manufactured rather than naturally earned. I know many viewers loved their chemistry, but personally, I never got butterflies, I never found myself kicking my feet or feeling their happiness, instead I often felt like the drama was trying really hard to convince me that these two belonged together rather than letting me naturally arrive at that conclusion myself. Even Segyeâs âhead over heelsâ devotion sometimes felt excessive not cz the chara shouldnât be in love, but cz the emotional progression wasnât strong enough to support how quickly he got there. Ironically, I found mundoâs storyline far more interesting than the main romance đ¤, by the middle i caught myself skipping some of the lovey-dovey conversations between the leads but paying full attention whenever mundo appeared, well despite being the villain he was genuinely compelling, yes i shouldâve hated him, but somehow I couldnât. Thatâs probably a testament to how well the character was written and performed.
I also understand that this drama only had 14 eps, considering the complexity of balancing two timelines, reincarnation, historical connections, mystery, romance, and character arcs, the story may simply have needed more room to breathe. Honestly, I think this couldâve benefited from 20 eps or more not cz more eps automatically make something better but cz the emotional development wouldâve had space to unfold naturally instead of feeling compressed.
Performance-wise, jiyeon gave everything she had. Thereâs no denying her commitment, that said, there were moments where her portrayal felt a little too heightened for me, I admire the intensity she brought to seori but occasionally it crossed into overacting territory. Thatâs purely personal preference, though. Meanwhile, I want to give special credit to seung jo, his performance was fantastic, no matter how manipulative or terrible mundo became, I still couldnât bring myself to fully hate him. His facial expressions, emotional restraint, and overall screen presence made him incredibly watchable.
Also one thing I do appreciate about the drama is that it constantly invited viewers to theorize. I love stories that leave room for interpretation and discussion but by the final, I was hoping for clearer explanations regarding some of the timeline mechanics and lingering questions. Instead, it felt like writer-nim occasionally followed vibes over logic, whichâŚwell, happens.
And now letâs talk about heo namjun as lead, well this probably unpopular opinion, I donât think heâs a bad actor at all, in fact I quite enjoyed his performance, he feels natural, grounded, and refreshingly different from the typical ML, he has a mature, masculine look that stands out in an industry often dominated by flower-boy visuals, but my issue was never his acting ability, Itâs his screen presence, cz some actors can completely steal a scene as supporting characters, yet struggle when asked to become the emotional center of a major production, being a main lead requires a different kind of gravity, they need the ability to command attention even when they're doing absolutely nothing, that intangible quality where the atmosphere changes the moment they enter a frame. At this stage of his career, I donât think he fully has that yet. When he appears, my reaction is often, âOh, yep he's here" not "THERE HE IS" and yes, those are two very different feelings. Many actors arenât conventionally handsome or idol-like, yet possess overwhelming lead energy, like the camera naturally gravitates toward them, the scene bends around them, atmosphere shifts when they take control of the frame. Thatâs the kind of presence Iâm talking, yes Itâs quite difficult to measure because itâs not really about acting technique. Itâs charisma, star quality and aura or whatever you want to call it, right now, namjun feels like a very good actor who is still growing into being the central force of a large-scale drama, maybe thatâs cz this is still early in his leading-man journey, or maybe he simply hasnât found the project that perfectly unlocks his full potential yet.
And honestly? Thatâs completely fine cz the talent is already there, the foundation is there, I genuinely enjoyed what he brought to the role. I just donât think heâs fully reached the point where his presence alone can carry the entire weight of a drama.
That's it.
And overall, this isnât a perfect drama, Itâs messy, itâs uneven, and sometimes it rushes where it should slow down and lingers where it should move faster but despite all of my criticisms, I never hated watching it, the concept was interesting, it kept me curious, several performances were memorable and even when it lost some of its momentum, it remained entertaining enough for me to see it through to the end, just a drama with a lot of potential that, for me, never quite became as great as it could have been.

Not for me
I think this series just wasnât for me. I didnât enjoy it at all, even though it included all the themes I usually like. The truth is, Khun Leâs behavior toward Rann put me off so much that I couldnât appreciate their relationship. That being said, the storyline and the acting were both very solid. Honestly, despite my feelings about the main relationship, I was still entertained while watching it.

Royally Smitten (・âĽâżâĽď˝Ą)
My Royal Nemesis is a fun drama with strong characters who actually grow. That's my catnip. The performances seal the deal.Storyâ¨
A double transmigration story: FL transmigrates, ML reincarnates. She's smart, he's ruthless, his slimy cousin is the obstacle, and along the way they realize life's sweeter with a partner. That's the gist, oversimplified. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Characters and Performances
â¨This is the drama's strength: performances even more than the characters themselves, though those aren't shabby either. Im Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun carry the show. IJY's Sin Seo Ri is the transmigrated "demoness consort," sharp enough to navigate the modern world and build a life for herself, - spunky, resourceful, honest, easy to root for. I went from hating "Yeon Ji" to loving "Seo Ri" within minutes. The same smile that made me want to punch my screen in The Glory had me smiling right back here. That's range.
I'd seen Heo Nam Jun in When the Phone Rings and wasn't impressed. Here, though, his ruthless, possessive, borderline unhinged chaebol is the heart of the drama. His arc from "I only need success" to "I only need you" is hilarious and romantic in equal measure. Their chemistry sizzles. (And, shallow aside: the man has fine abs. đŤŁ)
Then there's Jang Seung Jo as Choi Mun Do- slimy, saccharine, thoroughly evil. From his first scene I wanted to punch him; the smile, the slow drawl, the fake earnestness were so well done I wished him straight to the seventh circle of hell. That's the mark of a good villain performance.
The supporting cast pulls its weight too, which is what makes this drama steady rather than wobbly. It's not just resting on its leads.
Weaknessesâ¨
The script, otherwise sharp, gets repetitive in the middle. The same push and pull, the same resolve to "live life to the fullest," Tae Hui's pursuit of Se Gye. It all loops a few too many times and drags.
Noble Idiocyâ¨
My least favorite trope, and this drama has it in spades. Both leads keep deciding things "for the other's own good" instead of just communicating, which strips away agency and signals a lack of trust. Cue repeated face palming. đ¤Śââď¸
Overallâ¨
Great performances, real chemistry, romance that'll have you kicking your feet under the blanket. Yes, it sags a little in the middle and the leads commit noble idiocy like it's an Olympic sport. But the cast and writing make it worth your time anyway. Watch it.

Interesting premisce but oversweet, bland and repetitive.
** DISCLAIMER: my review may contain slight spoilers **The premise was genuinely engaging and the first 3â4 episodes were enjoyable.
Then, somehow, what began as a cute, quiet sliceâofâlife romance quickly turned into something oversweet, repetitive, and almost aggressively conflictâfree. Ironically, thatâs exactly when the story lost whatever charm it had.
The leads are good actors and look nice together, but their interactions soon become too steady and too unrealistic to take seriously. Their conversations remain uniformly soft, their dynamic never shifts, and the romance settles into a loop of âoverly cute moment + friends teasing.â It gets old very fast.
Even as someone who loves slow burns, the pacing felt stagnant. Both leads remain exactly the same from start to finish â perfectly calm, perfectly polite, perfectly predictable. Their relationship is essentially a long, smooth, unchallenged line.
The ML is the greenest flag imaginable: good at everything, always composed, never frustrated, never wrong, impeccably dressed, endlessly attentive and patient. At times, he feels more like a father figure than a partner.
The FL, despite being a smart and energetic university student, turns into the shyest, softest 13âyearâold version of herself whenever heâs around. After a while, it stops being cute and becomes simply cringey.
I eventually resorted to fastâforwarding (which says a lot, considering how sacrilegious that is for me) just to find scenes with other characters because I desperately needed a break from the main pair.
The story itself doesnât help: no stakes, no disagreements, no character growth, no meaningful conversations. Mostly an endless sequence of looooong sweet moments between the two leads.
I was also hoping to learn more about the Chinese dubbing industry. The dubbing scenes were indeed interesting and the traditional songs were lovely, but there was no real narrative thread â just scattered projects here and there.
The many cooking scenes, while appetizing, added nothing to the plot or the characters. Just another area in which the ML excels. And the combination of these two themes felt random at best.
There were several missed opportunities:
â the supporting cast and other couples barely develop
â the second couple is cute but essentially a copyâpaste of the main one
â the third couple â the only truly interesting one â is rushed into the last two episodes
â the vacation arc focuses almost entirely on the main pair (and the stunning scenery)
â the ML and the FLâs grandfather (both doctors) never have a meaningful exchange
and yes⌠nobody in this drama seems to get enough sleep.
Overall, I understand why many viewers enjoyed how gentle and unproblematic this show is. But for me, the lack of nuance, the absence of character development, the overly sanitized tone (borderline propagandaâlike), and the neverâending loop of sweetness made it a genuine struggle to finish.
In the end, the sweetest thing about this drama was the relief I felt when it ended.

Mostly I love the music and casting!!
This one of my favorite kdrama. I love the chemisty between them and how that Park hyung sik had a crush on her in real life. I love the plot line.! Also, the kissing scene look like he really meant them a lot. Even though, plot was mess, it would still be called one of my favorites. I saw this show like three time lol. If you like this show, you should watch the second season called Strong Nam Soon. Almost the same plot but different. They have little surprise, I am not going to spoil it. â¨â¨â¨Was this review helpful to you?
Servant and Prince: A Forbidden Romance Story
The first episode was SOLID!!! The chemistry, the tension, the push and pull, the teasing, the âi love youâ left unsaid and the suspense at the end!!!!!Thereâs not much to say about this than it is a very very good story.
Iâm keeping this review spoiler free, but if you like a good Lakorn BL show, then you will love this one. The beginning is intriguing and i hope it keeps the momentum.
Watch it, watch it, WATCH IT

Ummm the villain Choi Mun Do was in the drama too long LOL. they should have gotten rid of him a long time ago LOL.
Overall it was a good soul transported drama but I wont rewatch

Great acting
This had the potential to be perfect, but the writers just had to go ahead and make Ji-ah wilfully stupid - she kept lying to Minkyu and I hated that; it was painful to watch him being fooled when she could've just told the truth.Seungho was definitely the star of the show - outstanding performance!
Minkyu's disease was a great idea, I loved it! Perfect portrayal of it, too - I suspect 'Clean with Passion for Now' drew inspiration from this, but they failed to pay attention to detail the way this drama did.
I love that there are so many funny scenes in this drama, and I love the scientists, but hate the fact they made Baekkyun date Ji-ah - to the writers: did you even think about what you were doing? He's old enough to be her father - I don't care that they're both adults, it's still weird. On top of that, he had an odd obsession with her - it was creepy. It makes me frustrated because he could've been a perfect character.
Yoochul, on the other hand, was an amazing character!
Great acting, which didn't come as a surprise because they're all great actors - special mention to Geonhan because I love him, he's one of my favourites!
Awesome OST as well!
