Late for a meeting, Kotoko was running along the corridor in school and bumped into Naoki, their lips meeting. Naoki showed his disgust, but Kotoko started to idolise him, who was good at everything from studies to sports. When Kotoko's house burned down, her father's good friend Machiko invited them to move in with her family. It was then that Kotoko realised Naoki was the elder son of Machiko, who took up read morethe role of a fairy-godmother to bring the two together...despite the fact that Naoki was disgusted. Not discouraged, the clumsy and not-so-bright Kotoko started to do everything that would change her impression on him. Gradually, the icy-cold Naoki who disliked girls started to feel for Kotoko...

I originally began watching this show, but dropped it for awhile due to lack of interest by episode 4. Recently picked it back up after having seen the other adaptations of the series, and still didn't find it very interesting. Maybe it was because I'd seen the others completely first, but I felt a lack of effort for the story. The lead actress was a little over the top, though I know read more her character is supposed to be a little... eccentric...hyper... whatever you'd like to term it as. Takashi Kashiwabara, the main lead of Naoki, did well and really carried the majority of the series in my opinion. I won't rewatch this show very often, if at all, because the female lead annoyed me too much. I don't like giving a bad review, but... this was a dissappointment.

I mentioned in the INK~Love in Tokyo that I seen every version of this story. I forgot this version too. I've seen this drama as well.

This isn't my favorite version of this story, but it had some good things about this drama.

Story: I love the story, but it was so different from the original. But it's because the manga was still being written in 1996. The manga will forever be read more incomplete with no ending at all. The reason is that the author passed away(if you haven't known that, then that's the main reason that the story is so different). It's actually kind of more comedical(not as funny, but still).

Acting: I think Kashiwabara Takashi did pretty well as Naoki. He was so cold that I wanted to beat him because he was cold. There a few moments that he wasn't too cold. Sato Aiko got her role down. But I couldn't really relate to her. She was very annoying character. Aoki Shinsuke as Kin-chan didn't have much screen time at all because the story was still being written at the time. The person who played Yuki was pretty good as well.

Music: Not that memorable at all.

Rewatch: I didn't like the drama very much, but there were some good moments in the drama I would watch over again.

Remember, it's my opinion. If you disagree, that's fine with me.

this version's kotoko is very creepy...it's not that she's ugly or what. but she is just too much. it's amazing how naoki could accept her. love is really a miracle o____o

good thing that all of the remakes are hundreds times better than this, especially the latest Japanese remake.

Is this the drama that kickstarted the asian TV revolution? Although looking back, it may seem the worst piece of sh*t, I think it gave the foothold for Korea/China/Japan/Taiwan to start branching out to the awesomeness we have today.

TBH started this because of Kassy (the lead actor), and I think he did a pretty good job as Irie. I agree though it could get a bit annoying esp with Kotoko around, but if you went back to the original sources, you'll find that she's not exactly a peaceful character in the first place. So I justified the annoying-ness of this jdrama with that. This is the only version I was able to sit through without wanting to throwing something since it deviated from the original story, so it all comes down to personal taste I guess.

I watched this cuz I've watched the korean and taiwanese(my fav) versions and I wanted to see how this one was portrayed. And it was okay. I didn't dislike it and it had funny moments. I can't wait to see the remake and how it'll compare. I feel like I know the story so well after watching so many versions and the anime lol.

I don't remember much about this drama at all, and the Taiwanese version was far better, but I still liked it. All I really remember is someone saying that Kotoko's ears were too big.

I didn't like it at all. The acting rubbed me the wrong way and the show just grated on my nerves.
