The main impression this movie left on me was that it was flat out FUNNY! But that aside, there wasn't really much to it. The romance was kinda cheesy and the story so-so. But I did enjoy watching it, it was unpredictable at times and the lead actor does a superb job with his "newbie" acting. Overall, its a nice funny movie to watch; don't think, just enjoy!

To start off, I am a huge Jackie Chan fan, so I may be a bit biased on this. I've always loved his movies, and this one definitely sticks to his genre of comedy + kick ass martial arts. But this movie deviates from his usual type because it has romance in it! It was a really good movie, with cute and funny moments. The fight sequences are well choreographed and I enjoyed watching the humor inserted :)

You should watch this if you enjoy Jackie Chan's trademark comic timing and awesome martial arts. Its Five stars from me ^_^

It is a cute story, and I enjoyed watching it. I was laughing and grinning like an idiot through most of it(It is one of those feel good movies :))

The leads make a really sweet couple, and "Junk-Man"(lead actor), is super cute ^-^ . The story is simple; Junko(lead girl) comes to korea in search of her crush and ends up getting lessons in Korean from the son of the guest house owner(Jungmon/Junk-man). The lessons were hilarious, and the aftermaths of the teaching even more so :D. I definitely loved "Junk-Man's" style of teaching. The succeeding situations where quite funny, where Junko ends up spouting sentences which are truly comedic :).

But the story is nothing new, we've already seen similar plots in many movies already. The refreshing thing about this movie was one of the supporting cast members, "George". He was a delight to watch in action!

I would have graded the movie higher, but I guess it just didn't live up to its prequel (My tutor Friend, with the amazingly hot Kwon Sang Woo in the lead )

Note:

I didn't really notice the music, which would explain the rating for it.

Rewatch value: I didn't give it much coz the story is simple, watching it again will just be redundant.

My first impression: WOW! What an amazing movie! I've been postponing watching this series for quite a while (both the anime and the movie) since I'm not really a fan of most "serious" movies(comic relief in this movie is as good as non-existent), but I finally left my prejudice aside and saw it. This movie in a single word; "Brilliant". Actually speaking, its the plot that's brilliant, so full credit to the mangaka who wrote this amazing story(Death note was originally published as a manga and later made into an anime series as well).

The plot is gripping, and it had me sitting on the edge of my seat throughout the movie. The movie raises the important question, is killing justified if the people killed are criminals? The lead character(Light Yagami) is a superb protagonist( I love 'em smart dudes :D ), and "L" is the perfect antagonist to counter Light's intelligence. "Light" who sees himself as a new age God, striving to rid the world of evil, and "L", the sharp detective who sees such killings in the name of righteousness as murder, both provide interesting and contrasting views on "justice". This was one of the few movies that had me rooting for both; the protagonist as well as the antagonist. "L" was a refreshingly new character for me; I fell in love with his eccentric personality and investigative skills and "Light" aka "Kira" gives a whole new definition to the word "genius".

Its glorious to watch these two masterminds battle each other, in a war of wills and belief; in addition to the mysterious and thrilling "death note" and "shinigami" ( Ryuk in this movie, a wonderful CG character whom I love :)).

Acting: I think both the leads did an amazing job and made the story believable.

Rewatch: I don't think watching this movie again will be as much fun as the first time since the most amazing thing about this movie is its unpredictability, and that will be lost while rewatching.

I recommend this movie for anyone who enjoys a brilliantly written plot. Watch to find out who triumphs in this epic battle.

The duelist is a period movie, set during the late Chosun dynasty era. I watched this movie solely because of the lead actors. Although the actors delivered, but the movie didn't. The plot is quite difficult and intricate; its easy to get lost. It took me a while to grasp just what was going on! It starts off slow, but picks up towards the middle, when we finally get a hint of romance(The lead actor is totally gorgeous by the way ^_^). The movie features quite a bit of sword fighting, but not the martial-arts-movie kind; its more of an artistic fight. Freeze frames have been used quite a lot.

To sum it up, the movie was average for me, it got my hopes up in the middle; but it just didn't follow through. The story was not straightforward and it had me confused a lot of times. You should watch it for beautifully choreographed fight sequences; they were definitely the highlight.

Where do I begin with this movie? To call it a masterpiece is not too much of an overstatement, considering that it's a movie which gives you plenty of material to ponder over. I think I spent half the movie deluding myself thinking that this was going to be the average cookie cutter movie...and boy was I wrong. This movie has a weird charm, it's oddly disturbing but immensely intriguing that you cannot help but be engrossed in it.

The story is as the summary describes: a teacher grieved by the loss of her child decides to take matters in to her own hands. The mystery of how this murder was committed is revealed in the first twenty minutes of the movie; and if you're wondering what material that leaves for the rest of the movie, rest assured it is phenomenal. What follows is a story pieced together through the perspectives of various partakers of the crime, and a story so engrossing you cannot tear your eyes off of it.

The cast did a great job bringing their characters to life in this movie, and portrayed the raw emotions that makes the movie the masterpiece that it is. Our protagonists who were acting out the role of middle school kids specially deserve a tonne of praise for their commendable acting.

What I liked the most about the movie is how invested in the story I was till the very end. No matter how disturbing some of the events were (and there are a few hair raisers in this one), the quest to find out how this entire saga concludes was a tremendous driving force. This movie makes you feel a roller-coaster worth of emotions; you start off feeling sad for the tremendous injustice, somewhere in the middle you feel righteousness exists in the world, down the road you wonder if the characters deserve some sympathy, and by the end all these emotions just jumble up together! I liked how there were so many layers to this movie, every arc of the movie felt like completing a puzzle, only to find out in the next arc that you were using the wrong picture for the puzzle reference to begin with.

The story unraveling makes it hard to stick to one side for the entire movie, humanity wins somewhere in the middle and makes you sympathize. Was there one character who was the ultimate hero? I'll let you be the judge. I think I ping-ponged around too much to say yes to this question. I guess the essential question is, how many lives is one life worth?

If I could pluck one thing in the story for which the movie is a point short of full, it would be due to the fact that I found Yoko Moriguchi staying off the law enforcement radar a little hard to believe.

All in all it was an interesting watch (albeit not worth a re-watch). I would recommend this to anyone who's up for a little psychological gamble and can handle an hour and three quarters of a thrilling ride. One thing's for sure, I will be looking at middle-school kids in a whole new light after this movie.

Probably one of the best romantic comedies ever made, "My Sassy Girl" definitely delivers where it counts. I watched the movie after it being recommended by a friend; almost didn't watch it because it was made a decade ago; but in the end am so glad I did.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this film. The lead characters are superb in their acting, and the lead guy's character is to die for! He doesn't leave much of an impression in the beginning, but trust me, he'll become your favorite by the end ^___^

The main character, "the sassy girl" whose name we never find out btw, is excellent! I've never seen a character like hers. Truly refreshing!

The story revolves around the innocent guy meeting "The sassy girl" and their life afterwards. Filled with comedy and heart warming moments, this movie made my day! Hope you will enjoy watching it as much as i did :)

Definitely a classic ^_^

p.s My rating on the music is just a formality. Frankly i did not even notice what music was there in the background. Was enjoying watching the movie too much!

"The man from nowhere" is a chilling action packed thriller, starring the amazingly hot "Won Bin". If you have a thing for hot men on a blood & gore filled mission, or a thing for hot men in general, this is the movie for you! But all remarks about the superbly hot won Bin aside, this movie is probably one of the best movies I've ever seen.

A word to the wise: This movie contains a LOT OF VIOLENCE. If you cannot handle blood very well, my advice would be to stay as far away from this movies as possible. Graphic detail comes as a part & parcel of this movie.

Now that we've got that tiny little detail out of the way, it's time to discuss the movie. To start off, it's an action packed movie, with just the right amount of emotions to set your heart into a frenzy. There is no hidden romance here, but the sweet bond of friendship formed between the two prominent leads, namely our "man" from nowhere(Won Bin) and the little girl whom he befriends(Kim Sae Ron), is what keeps the story going.

Won Bin makes an excellent lead, a man of few words who believes in action rather than talk. He not only possesses resilience and determination in astounding amounts, but he's also got the fighting skills of a trained mercenary to boot. The little girl shows tremendous courage for someone her age, and her personality is of someone who can melt even the coldest of all hearts.

I won't lie to you, the main part about the movie that I liked were the fight scenes; it's not your standard Kung-Fu, karate or boxing; it's a set of precise well calculated moves. If you've seen the Hollywood movie "taken", there appear to be some similarities between the two movies; and yet they could not be more further apart.

This movie is a roller coaster ride of blossoming friendship, despair, a revelation of the inhumanity that is still prevalent in the world today, and last but not least, of hope; that there is a light at the end of a seemingly endless tunnel.

I would recommend this movie to someone who
1. Loves action thrillers
2. Can handle brute(possibly graphic) reality
3. Is looking for something heartwarming(yes, underneath all the fighting lies a story that literally tugs at your heartstrings)

I enjoyed watching this movie. Its a good combination of Humor+romance+action. The lead actors do an amazing job; and Kwon Sang Woo is a delight to watch (and totally hot too ^_^). The comic timing is good and the fight scenes well placed and choreographed. The romance between the lead characters needed to be developed further in my opinion because it felt a little rushed to me ( making this into a drama would have been a great idea). Overall, the movie gives off a feel-good vibe and its definitely worth a watch!
