Definitely one of the best Jdramas I’ve ever seen!

I’m so happy that I found this one because the story, characters and the chemistry between them are SO GOOD!

First let me talk about the story. Althought simple, the plot can be very captivating and didactic. I loved Hamada Yutaro’s scenes and how they put a real representation of someone who is blind in real life! I learned a lot of things about visually impaired people in his scenes that I didn't know before, it was really interesting.

The relationship between the main leads is also beautiful. Azaka gave the "vision" for Kurokawa to see the world differently and Kurokawa himself did the same to her. Their relationship is purely based on mutual respect where both characters grow during the drama while their love also grows. I absolute love them and they’re one of my fav couples of the year. They’re too cute :(

Talking now about the characters, everyone here is likable. Maybe some ones in the first episode can be a little annoying but they grow on us later. I loved Azaka’s relationship with her family. And loved how Kurokawa’s friends embraced her easily. I also LOVE Azaka’s friends and it was good to see how different they’re from her. Azaka is omg..so cute I loved her :( She’s bright, strong and SO hardworking. I cried a lot in her scenes. And omg Kurokawa is seriously perfect. He’s sweet, caring, cute, funny, respectable. Definitely one of my fav male characters, ever.

The only few things I didn’t like that much about this drama was Azaka’s old lover in EP9 and I found things a little too rushed in EP10. Also, Shishio’s relationship with Azaka’s sister seemed a little forced because we didn’t see the grow in their relationship. But well, I still liked them together so it’s ok.

So yeah, I TOTALLY recommend this one if you’re looking for a good Jdrama. It may not be perfect for you but I think it’s impossible to not like this one.
And Koi Desu definitely become one of my fav Jdramas!

What a beautiful, emotionally compelling movie. I loved every minute of it. It is easy to reminisce about my own youth while watching these awesome actresses. Their story of the happiness and pain of youth experienced through loyalty and sisterly love is one for all ages. I'm sure everyone can relate.

All of the acting was good from the adult female lead Yoo Ho Jeong as Na Mi to the funny little lawyer that has a great time at the end.

The music is really good.

I would rewatch this in a heartbeat.

I recommend that everyone watch this.

I watched this movie after I saw Sophie's Revenge and thought that this will also be a good movie. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I feel bad because the other reviews are higher, but honesty is the best policy.

Story 6/10- The movie starts of okay, remain moderate, but leaves you with a question and feeling unsatisfied.
Character 5/10- The characters are plain which would give them a plus for realism if they had more substance.
Acting 6.5/10- The acting is nothing spectacular. The best character delivery was the female lead and her boss.
Music 5/10- The music actually wasn't bad it just was't memorable either.
Rewatch Value 7/10- Despite what my ratings suggest this wasn't a bad movie it just wasn't that good either. I rewatched movies that make you want to scream from anger. I can see myself watching this again.

This movie is not your Cinderella story, but more like your Cinderella ever after if she lost prince charming to her best friend. One thing I liked about this movie is it focused on the post break up, a period we all experienced whether we were dumped or the dumper. Particularly we got the story in the view of the dumped via cheating which is always cruel. What probably made it worst was how long the two were together. Post break up movies are rare. They force reality down the throats of fairy tales believers(optimistic and proud), but this one lacked delivery. It had great potential in the beginning, but the pace it solves her problems is too fast considering the amount of time and love they shared. Furthermore, it never really explained his side. Sure he is a bastard for cheating, however that is still only one side of the break up. A problem involving two is caused by two. I feel like they never address her shortcomings nor fully address how she overcomes the whole break up. The movie ends at an ending that is bittersweet and a question dangling from your brain.

The characters are equally bland. I liked the female lead. XiaoXian was the type of girl who expressed her anger to close friends and she was very spunky. The only thing I didn't like her about her was how she barely had friends which is explained by her as focusing too much on her ex. We're only human and she is the type of character that perfectly explains that. Meanwhile her sidekick Xiaojian was tolerable. He was actually a decent character and a funny rival, but their relationship is never fully explained. Poor character development. You can't really tell how he cares for her. At the end it is never resolved in my opinion leaving them dangling from friend to lover. Her ex was... I don't know. The ex was introduced as the cheater, but he never seemed like a bad guy and the flashbacks shed a little light on his personality, but it was the pre break up. I wished it was at least explained clearer why he cheated.

This movie didn't capture me as I thought it would. I watched it with high hopes from recommendations and good reviews and ended being disappointed. At the end at least for me this movie is not really memorable. I would recommend this to people who want to see post break up movies. Maybe you will like it. I just don't.

" Memorist " was a heavy drama, but with a nice mystery.

The plot was packed with action, twists, and drama that at some point it got tiring. However, the two main characters were dominating without overshadowing each other, or having a romantic plot to follow, which would have ruined their dynamics and the atmosphere of the drama. Actually, all the characters were complex and interesting.

The fantasy element was handled perfectly as well. And the mystery was unpredictable enough to keep things interesting till the very ending. The friendship of the police team was, in addition, a nice comedy relief.

Finally, the performances were great from all the members of the cast.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

" Mystic Pop-Up Bar " gave a wholesome story and managed the pace masterfully.

The drama had the main plotline, with the mysterious pop up bar owner, whose story gradually is being revealed as the drama proceeds. Apart from that, the drama added some small cases that the crew of the bar had to solve, all of them quite emotional and touching. Those cases were just enough in number to keep things interesting and not to give a tiring background story that will be repeated over and over again, as many dramas do. They also blended comedy and drama pretty well, so that the tragic stories didn't become overbearing. The big twist in the end, about who's who, was brilliant and kept the anticipations high in those last episodes. The action scenes, moreover, were well choreographed and the CGIs were excellent. Finally, the performances were top-notch, as it was expected.

So, overall, nine out of ten.

I didn't watch the movie before delving into this drama, and I was perfectly fine without doing so. The storyline stayed on track, so I was easily able to follow along. Overall, I enjoyed the concept and the writers did an excellent job of tying in overused tropes in a unique fashion. For example, in many dramas the men are the ones that throw around their money in drastic ways to get closer to their love interests. Though this trope was definitely presented by the man, it was also presented by a woman. It still is a commonly used trope, but having the same thing be done by a woman instead was refreshing in a way. (The script also blatantly points out the misogyny women in entertainment and business face!)

PREPARE TISSUES WHEN YOU WATCH. I don't cry easily when watching dramas, but along with the lovey dovey scenes, there was also raw emotion. I'm glad the writers and directors didn't just breeze past it for the sake of adding a tragic element to Hyun Jin's character. They dove fully into and gave those emotions the appropriate screen time they needed to be fully fleshed out. Do Jae's little sister (Lee Da Hee (actress)/Kang Se Ra) also stated something very true about the process of one recovering from sorrow.

I was truly awestruck by Seo Hyun Jin's acting. She made me feel her pain with her soft tears, happiness with her bright smile and continuously impressed me throughout my viewing of the drama. I'm sure a large reason for why I loved her acting so much was because of her character, who is an actress. Actors and actresses tend to be nouveau rich, and Hyun Jin did an excellent job of portraying a down to earth, yet wealthy and ambitious woman. Her leading half, Lee Min Ki also did a great job in his role as a conglomerate who came from an already wealthy family.

The only problem I had with Min Ki's character is that he was so expressionless. Even when smiling or laughing, it felt so artificial and I felt like I was watching a robot at times. What made this worse was when his character was joking around or crying. These scenes just fell flat for me because there didn't seem to be any authenticity to the character. This was a huge con for me personally. It also majorly affected their chemistry, especially in the first couple of episodes.

As well, as is with most dramas, the last few episodes were a bit laborious to get through. Most of the plot had been resolved and you already got a sense of how it was going to end. Still, it's always nice to see how it ends. I recommend skipping episode 14 however. An hour long episode felt like 5 hours; it. was. PAINFUL.

I'm always a sucker for side stories and friendships. I loved the friendship between Se Gye (Hyun Jin) and her two best friends. The bromance between Min Ki's character and his secretary was also incredible and you really got a sense that they have known each other for years. I also loved the romance between two of the secondary characters. At times (especially near the end), I wished they would show more scenes of those two getting closer. I was watching on Viki, and many people were commenting the same thing. This just serves as a reflection of how strong the cast is and the nuances in the story; it was more than just a sudden romance exclusively between an actress and rich boi. There was friendship, family, loss, discovery of love and self love.

I get it... but I don't

This piece of beautiful cinematography reveals some important flaws of the society that we live in but also shows how a specific part of it is suffering without us even knowing.
I liked that it showed something raw and real without focusing on the bl part which actually came pretty natural. The chemistry between the actors seemed pure and I loved that. They really managed to express difficult emotions.
On the other hand it seemed to me that it was one of those films where 'nothing happens' but it actually does. The plot looked like it was going nowhere so I was a little confused as I was watching it.

The ending didn't sit right with me and I was hoping to find someone here who I can talk about it but I am the first review so feel free to talk to me.

I thought this drama was below average. I liked the idea/plot but I did not think that the actors executed it well. I especially did not like the second half. It felt very campy-- when I think they were going for something more lighthearted--and trust me, I know campy as I watch a lot of wuxia. I would like to see a sequel but not in the modern era/instead I would like to see something about the father--and his fate.

In addition to the plot, I found the plot devices to be poorly executed. Yes, kdramas recycle plots a lot but that doesn't bother me. It just felt very forced and not very genuine. But I think a lot of people disagree with me and that is perfectly fine. Not everyone likes the same stuff.

Im disappointed...

This drama was very cringe...The story line is ridiculous. How do you all of a sudden fall in love with someone after ignoring them for years and yall were living in the same house since kids??? I had to skip a lot of the scenes because it was so cringe. There was not really any chemistry, it was kind of dry. There was this scene where the popular guy was walking down the hallway and all the other students were screaming and gushing over him like he was some kind of celebrity. It was so dumb I couldn't help but laugh. Honestly, I wouldn't watch this again, kind of wish I never did.

I came across this drama thanks to a featured article on mydramalist. Otherwise, I would not have picked it up myself, given how I tend to shy away from modern day Chinese dramas after having been burned multiple times. And the poster and synopsis do not do this drama justice. But lo and behold, here is a modern day Chinese drama that’s only 16 episodes long and kept my attention from start to finish!

We first meet our heroine, Ruan Nian Chu (Yilia Yu), going on blind dates and musing about boys and dating with her fashionable, wealthy best friend, like a typical city girl. But we soon learn she went through a traumatic experience five years ago with a man she cannot forget (hence why she's single). He saved her from drowning, and I must admit at first, her continued interest in this man had me rolling my eyes. I mean, this was five freaking years ago. As the story progresses, however, we discovered through flashbacks that this mysterious man and her spent a significant amount of time together following the incident, with him protecting her by disguising her as his woman to deter any would be rapists in a region controlled by a crime organization where she was held captive. Now THAT is understandable. I mean, who could forget an experience like that? The flashbacks have a way of revealing major, romantically intense memories in a way that had me fascinated.

After helping her escape, he appears to have perished in an explosion, along with the rest of the gang. She has been longing for him since. Now, five years later, suddenly, he's back. And here's where we meet our hero, Li Teng (Tsao Yu Ning), now head of a security company; a cold man with an assured authority. With the two of them meeting again after such a long time, in a setting so far removed from their first encounter, can they finally be together? Things are not so simple as he’s more mysterious than ever before and his motives unclear. One thing is for sure though, their feelings have only intensified.

This drama made me a fan out of Tsao Yu Ning (Where have you been all this time?). There were times when he reminded me of Lee Min-ki or Kang Ha-neul or Yeo Jin-goo but most of the time I just thought he was HOT. The dude looks seriously good from every angle. He's one of the most attractive men I have ever seen and even more so because he can act. He plays a man whose outside exterior is so cold but burning like charcoal inside for the heroine. I know that's a common character trope nowadays but he plays it so well I loved every minute of it. I loved, loved, loved his wolf-like, penetrating gaze. His chemistry with Yilia Yu is one of the best I've ever seen; whose character, by the way, is also easily likable. She is so delicate but so strong. Their characters’ sexual tension is palpable. A look here, a look there spoke volumes about their feelings. And their mundane, post confession romance is just as heart pounding and sweet. I couldn't get enough of their interactions that I rewatched for many days after finishing.

I was impressed with how the drama weaves the past and present together to help us understand the choices the characters make. The editing here is really top-notch. In a few scenes, the drama effectively conveys how the leads fall for each other before reluctantly parting ways. By the time they meet again in the present time, without much being said, we completely understood the characters' wants and the hidden layers. I do wish the flashbacks were longer; they spiced up the drama and gave depth to the story. Though not too many, there are some action scenes with excellent choreography. Li Teng felt like a real former special forces agent, capable and formidable. But at times you may feel as if you’re in a different drama because of how light the present story is. Overall though, it is a story that is a nice balance of light and intense. Thanks to its length, this was the perfect drama to binge on a long weekend and left me feeling satisfied.

YOOOOO

So first I gotta say my man Ma Dong Seok played his part FLAWLESSLY! He may be a really miscellaneous role actor but he's never failed to deliver to me. If you're looking for something that'll make you wince in imaginary pain, you've come to the right place. As someone obsessed with serial killers, I'm aware of where the law stands on the death penalty and I'm rarely satisfied with court rulings on any murder case. This movie is a perfect example of how poorly the law handles stuff by doing everything "the right way". I'd definitely do good as a mobster lol There's so much blood and profanity I couldn't help but be entranced with it all! If you love action with a side of psycho, you'll love this movie as much as I did.
Enjoy...

完美

One of my favorite dramas i’ve watch, maybe my top 1 as of now (from k-drama, j-drama, c-drama). I have rewatch it multiple times already but still can’t get over with their chemistry. Perfect!!! 恭喜大家! 還有真的感謝 for giving us this masterpiece. At first i was hesitant to watch because i was not a fan of e-sport and some of the actors are new, so not expecting much from them. But, just by its first episode i was already hooked up with the story and cannot wait for the next episodes. Due to my impatience sometimes, i watch it without english subtitles cause i cannot restrain myself to wait for another week to watch it.

STORY

The drama had me in so much emotions! The story was beautiful, the soundtracks, the visuals and everything! This is my April 2024 comfort drama. The chemistry was there for the emotions to play out right and the ending was very understandable and not rushed. This is the perfect historical drama with angst and many emotions, if you're in your feels or want to feel something!

A girl's manifestation came to life

July 30, 2023

Hidden Love is definitely one of the best released rom-com Chinese drama of the year. The story of Sang Zhi and Jia Xu is so fluffy and cute.

As a a rom-com Chinese drama, I was expecting petty and stupid arguments when the leads get together. But they are so mature to the point where all the little misunderstandings are resolved right away. They have such a healthy communication with each other. I am in awe with how much I am jealous of what they have.

Sang Zhi and Jia Xu's chemistry is just off the chart. It is amazing to think how much the actors can deliver into their character role. I understand the hype that Hidden Love received. They truly deserve it.

All the other side characters are just chef's kiss as well. They brought things to the plot and I didn't see anyone being a waste of time. I never skipped scenes either which is quite rare nowadays. As there are so many dramas putting up filler scenes and sub plots which sole purpose is for them to fill their timeslot and drag the show longer.

As someone who have watched Cdramas for a quite a long time now. I will put Hidden Love with the other "S"-tier fluffy rom-com Cdramas imo like "Put your head on my shoulders". "Perfect. & Casual", "Falling into your smile", and "When we were young".

If you are a sucker for rom-com who hates misunderstanding please give this show the love that it deserves!
