It's all about defying expectations and taking viewers on an unexpected journey.

Copycat Killer is a gem that not only keeps you on the edge of your seat but also throws in a dash of nostalgia and a hearty serving of genuine human emotion.

The cast of Copycat Killer deserves a standing ovation. Their performances breathe life into the characters, making you forget they're just on screen. Wu Kang-ren, in particular, shines as the determined prosecutor, delivering a performance that reaches through the screen and grabs your attention.

Transporting us to 1990s Taiwan, the series is a visual feast with its meticulous attention to detail. Outdated technology adds a nostalgic touch, while the cinematography plays with angles that amplify both suspense and beauty in every scene.

The storyline, with its Japanese drama flair, unfolds like a complex puzzle. However, it's not without its quirks. The killer's identity is revealed a bit too early, taking away some suspense. And relying on self-confessions feels like a missed opportunity for mind-bending plot twists.

Yet, Copycat Killer keeps you hooked by diving into the personal lives of its characters. Their struggles, not just with the case but with their own demons, add layers of realism. The well-written interactions make the characters relatable, turning this crime drama into an emotionally resonant experience.

In conclusion, Copycat Killer is more than your average whodunit. With commendable acting, a nostalgic setting, and a storyline that balances suspense with character depth, it stands out in the crowded thriller landscape. It's a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, even when faced with darkness. Despite its flaws, the series leaves a lasting impression, urging viewers to unmask not just the shadows within the plot but the shadows within themselves.

For those craving a crime drama with heart and depth, Copycat Killer is a journey worth taking. It's not perfect, but it's fun, humanized, and refuses to release its grip until the very end. So, buckle up for a thrilling dance through time and mystery!

A story about a young woman who dreamt of becoming a diva.

The idea of the story itself is very unique in my opinion. Though there are some illogical point (regarding her survival in the deserted island), but the whole visual is super great. And the story is not merely highlighting the romance between the main leads couple. But it showed us friendship, hope, resilience, and persistence.

The actors and actresses really did a great job in portraying their character. Park Eun Bin with her quirk, Chae Jong Hyeop with his talking eyes, Cha Hak Yeon with his wit, and Kim Hyo Jin with her clumsiness. I really enjoyed their acting here. So did the supporter character. Everyone was equally doing their best to portray their character.

Though the focus of the series itself is not romance, but I can feel a great chemistry between the ML and FL. They portrayed pure love. And it feels so sweet and sincere.

Is it disappointing ? Yes but good

Okay to be honest if I watched till ep no 08 i would have given even better review but between the ep 09- 13 it was really hard if you ask they should have cut short those episodes.
The power was over the top but for its okay it's good until ep 8.
But last three episodes again so good not best better than all other episodes of the show.
Many say it's over the top and I agree but it's what you expect from this series i think wasn't much of a problem to me. Only problem we have three characters doing same silly use of power which made lot of cringe factors kick in.
I think main couple has same chemistry as orginal only problem they won't allowed to shine except they were using the villain which is also working but why ?
Problem will go on but as i said first half is good and finally three episodes is better middle part rough as going in desert if you don't dig in the villon because main point of the story and grandma love triangle which is by far is super hard to pass on.
I don't think acting as no problem every did there role better but seriously the production team or make up team as series problem on cloth choice they made sometime it horrible to watch the actor wearing those.
They made first episode epik and lost all intrest and made a too hard to fallow ( I mean in character wise) character story
Thank you for reading ?

Wow, that got me. In one word - beauty.

Impressions? Feelings? Experiences? Strong, deep, unforgettable. I've been looking forward to this series for a long time, but I didn't expect it to interest me like this. I swallowed one part after another and could not tear myself away from it. Cast, great music, but above all a wonderful, incredibly strong story, under the pressure of which I could not stand up, no matter how hard I tried. The biggest rush of emotions I've ever experienced while watching a movie.

Plot, effects, camera, music, actors, jokes, chemistry, serious moments, everything works perfectly. I would rank it among the top dramas I've seen so far.

Do I recommend watching the drama? Certainly yes. - it was simply amazing!

Beautiful and engaging masterpiece of drama

Absolutely the best drama I have seen in every aspect:
- perfect pacing
- interesting and engaging plots
- excellent acting
- great chemistry between two main leads
- amazing delivery of the complex character (XW) by the actor
- all the actors/actresses did great job, they all suited their roles
- the ending is very satisfacory and makes the journey of 38 episodes that more precious and worth it
- the music is beautiful and suits the drama so well
- the actions scenes all look very well

This is the very first time the entire show stole my heart.

Just mehh boring..

Actually, this drama is good if there are no childish problems. from the start I didn't feel happy about the problems in this drama from everyone who treated FL badly and FL who was very stupid felt guilty because of her own actions even though I don't think it was her fault either but she was too afraid to admit it and through it she made it worse chooses to hide it and prefers to put all the blame on him. On the other hand, ML comes like a warrior prince who wants to help his beloved woman through all trials. I don't know why I don't enjoy and don't like stories like this, even though I like romance dramas and ost dramas, but stories that I think are a waste of time are really unacceptable.

Not what I expected....

I expected so much from this because this was the sequel of one of my all time favourite dramas and even the cast was amazing in this drama but the writer ruined it all. The plot was so lacking, we didn't even get to see the female lead using her powers much and I thought the 3 women would work together using their powers but they just gave grandma a cringey love story that I hated so much!!

The ML actor is a really good actor but they wasted his character here & the villain had more screentime than anyone else but I'm not complaining about because he's the only reason I watched this till the end. Byun Woo Seok carried the whole show for me because only his character had some depth with a background story & I even felt bad about his story because he was the only interesting character. He made such a good villain who was charismatic, also he was so hot I have to say that ^^

There were way too many useless characters and cringey scenes. I don't even have anything good to say about this. The only good thing was the acting because all of them were such good actors but the writing wasted their acting skills. I also didn't like how the villain killed himseld in the end because I would've preferred him to go to jail and receive his punishment. And as much as I couldn't hate the villain, they focused the story way too much around him and not the main characters

Overall it was a waste of time & I'm disappointed with the writer for ruining this drama like this. And please they better not make a season 3 after this disappointment -_-

love is beginning

The story is good and catchy in second half some episodes becomes difficulty to understand dew to screenplay
It's not an fast or slow drama it's gradually moderate its covers allrounder of audience because of the cinematography
In acting all actor and actors are well seasoned their character especially second prince Wen Jun, Chi Lan are best in new way
The main lead [ Li Yi Tong ] Su Jiu Er --- & --- Bi Wen Jun [ Han Zheng ] ther chemistry is outstanding in all the scenes i hope they Join again in some projects i like to see more both of them in more dramas as a couples both of them are perfect match

Cute but Toxic and Abusive!

Honestly, you have to suspend this series’ entertainment value from any sort of connection to reality because if you do not, your mind would be twisted into a pretzel of contradictions. It is a cute, entertaining BL at face value but if you dig deeper, it is a series that has so many incongruities in it and abuses, that it is hard to ignore those aspects of it. I know this is a BL and that portion was done in an entertaining way. While they made a cute couple, I never bought they were a couple, which of course did not happen until the last episode and then the screen was filled with moonbeams and hosannas. It was just a bit too Pollyanna and rushed.

Small dream/transmigration-story with interesting storyline

This is one of these small gems I sometimes stumble upon. The storyline is quite simple and the characters are interesting. Even if it is short, it doesn’t feel rushed. Well except for the ending that could have been a little longer.
Character wise:
FL is a peppy and sweet modern day woman who falls asleep in an elevator while being stuck. She dreams of transmigrating into ancient times where she is a courtesan.
ML is a nice and clever doctor with a hidden identity and mission.
Acting wise this is very good and all the actors do a great job with their characters within the limited timeframe.
So, if you love dream/transmigration-stories with interesting storylines and a good love story, this is definitely well worth watching.

Obsession

This story was really slow at the beginning. I literally stopped watching several times and kept going because of all the good reviews. But it really picked up around episode 15 and I just kept watching.
The only part I didn't understand was Suying's obsessions and her refusal to see that she is unhinged. Because of her obsession with a man who didn't want her, she was used to attack the dragon who was ready to marry her. She then justified her actions by calling him and all demons evil when they were just existing. And everyone was like, yup let's agree with her. No other human was like, wait didn't you attack him, how is he evil? Because of her obsession with the man, she killed his wife in front of him and was mad that he still didn't want to be with her. Everything she did was supposedly for the man but she just couldn't get over the fact that he didn't want her or that the dragon ultimately got away.
These people ignored the fact that the whole family was crazy and just let her do whatever.
And the Phantom Lord, what was wrong with him? Why was he giving off hunchback drag queen?

An adaptation gone wrong. I haven't really seen the original drama so I can't compare but this one really did not meet my expectations. The drama was good at first. It has that comedic genre that I liked.

I don't have anything against the actors, I think they did well in the drama. They expressed the emotions and portrayed their characters well. I think what makes it low rated is the pacing of the story. It was really hard to watch, since I started it long ago but I just finished it this year 2023. It is not an interesting korean drama.

Cheap, not-so-subtle romance

Story-wise, it is a decent drama as the story centers around a girl who was encouraged by her less-privileged mother to study as it would afford her more opportunities in the world. Great message for the women of today, and refreshing to see a female character assume a role as a court official, even if entirely fictitious. This is not the first drama to do this, but it is the first to show women taking the exam alongside the men to then become an official.

The acting from all 4 main leads are convincing and there is also a likeability about the supporting cast which isn't always the case as many dramas use the supporting cast as time fillers who serve no real purpose of driving the plot forward. Here they are given an identity, and even a personality, unlike their usual ornamental existence!

The music is a delight and the chemistry is there between the leads, compliments to the screenwriter who was able to bring the two characters together in a way that is amusing and also unique.

The problem? Oh boy. Where do I begin? The screenwriter (just like so many other screenwriters of chinese olden day dramas) refuses to believe in the capacity of the audience to be able to appreciate a romance that is mature, genuine, and that isn't all about sex. Their perception and trust in the viewer to be able to consume an adequately written, well-paced build-up of a relationship is so low, that wherever possible they try to remind us that the leads are attracted to each other, which actually ruins the natural chemistry they actually have. Just as we're enjoying the authentic and interesting dynamic, the screenwriter will then proceed to use vulgarity or not-so-subtle reminders that the male lead is a man, and that Muzhuo is a female, the supposed suggestiveness, not so suggestive, but rather distastefully shoved down our throat countless times instead. It's as if cdramaland writers cannot fathom that we as viewers of dramas can actually appreciate a romance that doesn't involve juvenile sexual innuendos at every turn and assumes that for a romance to be believable or marketable, we MUST incessantly ingrain in the viewers' minds that the leads want each other physically.

Whatever happened to the good old days of showing, and not telling viewers what to think? Whatever happened to conveying emotions of yearning for each other without ever resorting to cheap sexual references as a means to create chemistry between the two characters? For anyone wondering, I grew up on Hong Kong olden day dramas which rarely ever needed to employ such tactics to create romantic pairings that worked and was full of chemistry. The reason why olden day dramas are so popular and were such a pleasure to watch is because of the virtues that are known to be prevalent during that time. Loyalty, filial duty and undying, unconditional romantic love was at the forefront of themes featured in these dramas. These quintessential elements of an olden day drama is slowly being stripped away by the commercialism of these chinese productions, rendering the seasoned viewer in me restless and wanting to turn away from these narratives simply because of the patronising experience we are being confronted with because the screenwriters lack respect for their work, and the audience as a whole.

Do better please cdramaland. It could have been a good drama! Just like all those other dramas that were tarnished by the same limitation. Please quit the suggestive trash and regain some faith in the viewers' capacity to appreciate art and classy storytelling in the romance department of the story. Cdramas can go so much further if they would just let go of this obsession with featuring unneccesary sexual references in their productions.

I just wish it was better

as soon as this was announced I was so hyped and excited because SWDBS is one of my absolute favorite kdramas of all time . I can’t believe this is written by the same person who made SWDBS .
the writing here is so so bad , first 3 episodes were promising , well start - also with park bo young and park hyung sik appearance that literally made my entire year better . but then the storyline became so weak and messy .
too many side stories with so many screen time???? tell me tf why the grandma and her bf had more romance and screen time then our main couple??????
and the mother made me so mad sometimes I couldn’t stand her behavior , the way she treated her son was too much . she only talked and cared about namsoon , she definitely has favorite child and thats so messed up .
the only thing I liked since the beginning was main leads romance that we didn’t even get much of .
I wish main lead - hee shik had more back story and storyline other than just been there as the hot cop bf of namsoon .
in SWDBS the romance also wasn’t the main focus but it’s was done so beautifully in the drama , and the powers of bong soon , and her personality and her actions and just bong soon in general was a good character . the mystery in SWDBS was so much more interesting than the drugs shit in here .
i couldn’t care less about the drugs ???

now for rye shi oh - woo seok did amazing here .
rye shi oh he had an interesting backstory and mostly because of that people liked him more . I really think is the most interesting character here and that’s sad that he had to get that ending but that’s also what he deserved as the villain .
for the people who shipped nam soon and him - that’s a big no . namsoon might felt a little bit sad sometimes for him but for most part she hated him , he tried to kill her mother ?and also her at the end . so definitely not romantic relationship there for me . but the actors do look good together on screen.
but that’s just my personal opinion

it could have been so much better .. the romance between hee shik and namsoon - I wished we had more . our main lead hee shik - more screen time and story for himmm because he’s literally the main lead .
namsoon - firstly why cut her hair ??? , I wished she didn’t act most of the time like a child .
THE GRANDMA DIDNT NEED THAT MUCH SCREENTIME WITH HER BF I JUST HATED THIS IM SORRY . IT WASNT INTERESTING OR CUTE .
the mother was just annoying but the actress is fire
nam in was the cutest brother loved him and the father was a good one .
and the drugs storyline was not done properly , it was boring , not interesting or moving at all .

there’s people who might enjoy it more than I did , maybe if it was one of the first kdramas you watch or something it might be fun but just very very disappointing for me as someone who waited a lot for this and had high expectations . might be the biggest disappointment for me in 2023

Worst story

The villian out shined everyone...

The story writing is shit...
The fl has numerous super powers, but she chose to lie and backstab the villian?‍♀️?‍♀️

She could have found about the villians bad deeds any other way...but backstabbing nd lying while having all these super powers seems senseless....

And our beloved villian ryu shi oh deserves better? he had no other choice but to become a mafia...he was trained like that since he was a kid.....he definitely deserves redemption??
