2020 Watch Challenge Discussion Thread

Maybe it was already asked but how am I supposed to know how other users rate a specific drama?  

You can also click "Score"  to sort it by their ratings ie if I tap Score once in your completed list it starts with your 10* ratings and if I tap it a second time it'll reverse that since I believe one of them is to watch something they rated really low:

I am sorry if this question was already answered....

I started watching Weekly Idol to fulfill the variety show requirement and I have never watched it before. I was wondering how many episodes I have to watch for it to be considered a season.It has 460+ episodes so I am not so sure how many I should watch.

Earlier in this thread the mod/admin/ruler of the challenge said to watch a year's worth... so if it's a 1/wk thing it'd be ABOUT 50 episodes if they break for holidays, 52 if not (basically watch from any point last year through any point this year or the first year etc)... Since this challenge ends a bit before the end of the year, it makes sense to watch a couple/few episodes from last year, too, if you're doing the most recent ones/from here forward... 

HERE https://mydramalist.com/25574-weekly-idol/episodes you can see the episode dates so if you want to watch, say, from May last year through the end of April this year, you'd start on 405 May 1, 2019 and end on April 29, 2020 which I think is episode 457 (assuming they haven't had any skips since the last updated episode #). EDIT TO ADD: If this is too daunting for you, you can always pick something shorter; last year I watched Youn's Kitchen S1 (9 episodes, 90mins ea) as well as Youn's Kitchen Season 2 (100mins x 11 episodes) and this year I watched Lee Dong Wook's Because I Want to Talk (12 eps, 60mins each). I like Yoo Hui Yeol's Sketchbook (80min weekly eps, 500 so far) and Master in the House (weekly 100min eps, 150 total expected), but I can't get myself to consistently follow shows that go on that long! :)

I have a questions regarding the "Watch a drama/movie from an award-winning screenwriter" as well as the "Watch a drama/movie from an award-winning director". If the movie was written or directed by an actor and the actor won awards for his acting roles, does it still count for this category? 

Or does it only count when the director/writer won it for his directing/writing work?

From the way that it is worded the person has to have won the award.

So it only counts if they have actually won an award for their directing/writing work (even if it's not that specific drama/movie) and not for anything else?

yes ..for example you can watch any of Miike or Sono sions works because they have won awards at some point

Hi! Total newbie in this challenge.

Not sure if this was already answered around this thread (as there's no find function within a thread) but anyway. I've been interested with web dramas nowadays and usually an episode only last around 10-15 mins. Can I still count the whole show as a drama or is it only counted on the first part of the challenge?

if it is the database as a drama or movie it counts.  It must be in the database thus meeting certain criteria.

The webdramas I usually watch fall under the drama special category. It's still count as drama, right?

drama specials for japanese anyhow usually count as movies, since its one episode.  SO if it is more than one episode it counts as a drama, if its one episode its a movie

Ok if you go to the persons list you will we what they rated their dramas in one of the last few columns, you can sort their list that way with ascending or descending
