Wowa! The first episode was nice! And the secret detective is the same as in Temptation! The dog plays really well, i don't want Dal Bong to die! She said "fighting" to the dog XD Damn, Dal Bong's food catalog is so gourmet XD "Do you know there are rumors about your master? That he's a jerk?!" Gaw! XD I'm glad it didn't take ages (many episodes) to find out who Se Na really is. After Night Watchman's Journal i need a serious break from dragging to eternity.
The first scene of episode 14 was really strong, with a compass he could be at his dead sister's direction and he could actually "caress" her one more time and finally release her soul at peace. She even talked again about the warmth of her brother; just like she did before dying. I liked the way they did this parallel farewell, the one of dying and the other of being released at last.
So far i thought that the possessed king had killed the queen, but it was the prime minister!!
"The hero in the shadows who is never recognized by other people, that's the life of a Night Watchman."…
Either that or for some personal reason, that we'll probably find out in the near future, she wants to remain hidden for the time being. One of the reasons could possibly be that, had Lee Rin known she's his mother, it would inflict pain upon him by reminding him the horrific scenes he had to endure during his childhood by his possessed by a ghost father and king.
Loved the series, balancing somewhere between intensity and piece of mind, it never failed to overwhelm me. The end was somehow releasing for all the characters, no matter what happened in the past, and rewarding in a manner of speaking for the audience. Where there were clouds nearly before the end, a ray of sunlight left us with the impression that everything would flow well for Se Young and Seok Hoon; also for Hong Joo and Min Woo solely since they got over this relentless pursuit of revenge. I have to admit that i loved the OST, especially the songs with vocals, but the instrumental orchestrations were strong enough to deliver the intensity of the moment, definitely one of the most emotional OSTs i've listened to this year, the slight flamenco guitars from time time really did justice.
well this drama is not the best ( like the story is a little bit dragging sometimes) but the rating are crazy…
Yeah, the difference between the ratings so far and the way i look at this drama seem to differ a lot. And it seems pretty popular indeed, it even takes first place over my previous Temptation on Mondays-Tuesdays and i really don't get it -.-
I just realized that with all these dramas i've actually forgotten how it feels to watch a movie! Joker Game, Kinkyori Renai, As The Gods Will and Ao Haru Ride will be in my sniper scope.
I'm adoring Sol even more with every episode, she's such a cutie! The scene with Eun Gyu at the cafe was totally unexpected, i was pretty sure she was going to scream & shout or even slap him or something; but i'm impressed. And the scene at the end with Sol eating, come on, somebody shoot me and leave my body in the woods xD
The part with Yeo Reum's father.. electrified me. And now it makes much more sense, it's something she went through all alone by herself. "Is your memory that accurate? Your memory is correct after thinking about it a hundred times? Then you should be able to guess when it was at least. Think carefully about when it was. There was the first call and there was a second call. Third, fourth, there must have been countless calls. You said you were busy every time and you didn't even ask what the reason was. Out of those many days you couldn't come because you were busy, think carefully about which one of those days it was. You probably can't even remember because there were too many days like that. Think again, one by one."
Tae Ha's thoughts at the hospital devastated me, a rare moment of self-judgement. Aish, i love this drama! And the scene at the orphanage with Ha Jin and An Ah Rim was pretty strong. But i sense a punch coming with Ha Jin's arrival on the beginning of the next episode xD
"The hero in the shadows who is never recognized by other people, that's the life of a Night Watchman."
Amen! Now that's something, since the ceremony of the new chapter in their lives it's gotten really interesting; i like their new outfits as well. And In Hwa really played a big part in this crucial moment of how the story would flow. Because of her Moo Seok stopped doubting (after 10 episodes) the existence of ghosts and dark magic, but the truth is, i really feel sorry for him, he can't see ghosts, he misses the most interesting part of a night watchman's life xD He can only sense their location through the compass. I have to admit though that the Goddess of Smallpox is kind of scary, her stare is otherworldly and the scenes with Queen Dowager and the battle were intense! But she won't be bothering us anymore xD
Μmm, Soo Ryeon impressed me (not in a good way)! I would never imagine her unfolding such an evil face just because she saw Lee Rin hugging Do Ha! Sooo, you're hugging Do Ha and not me? I will destroy the universe! Mwahahar!
PS.
The little ghost girl is the ex-Queen, Lee Rin's mother!
The whole situation has become a star-crossed universe between ex-s. Osamu's ex-wife is an extra weapon of mass destruction placed on the defenseless strategy table. Sawa's metrosexual hamster husband has been trying to avoid hearing the truth that would hurt his pride and probably bring back memories of his hurt childhood years that had an impact on how his personality is right now. Yet he should have thought about it earlier without leaving Sawa's feminine side on the shelf. She's a human being desiring and willing to offer love. I'm glad she broke the bubble of ideal marriage he's been living in whereas at the same time it was a silent hell for Sawa. "A woman unable to throw away her integrity has no right to true love." Sometimes marriage is the deathbed of relationships that are not based in welcome amounts of love from both sides respectively.
Even if i felt a little sympathy for Noriko, she lost every right to maintain even a slight hint of sympathy to my eyes after she went to her husband's work and called Sawa's office to tell everything. I'm aware that in countries like Japan, Korea etc the reputation of oneself is very important, yet that doesn't mean that you have to expose the problem of your family to outside factors such as workplaces etc. It shows what a low person without self-respect you are.
I liked the end of episode 9, the two opposites, a dark, cold studio and the pre-sunset heaven drowning gently in all shades between yellow and red by the beach. Osamu and Rikako's goodbye felt saddening, full of doubt and uncertainty; just like the studio. Yuichiro and Sawa's greeting felt warm just like the surrounding scenery and the beautiful monologue: "the bindweed flower spreads quickly with its underground roots and never seems to stop showing its face again no matter how many times it may be cut down. This is why some have always treated the bindweed flower, the beauty of the day, as a weed, a nuisance. Like an affair, no matter who may try to stop it. Somebody please tell me, where are the two of us headed?"
At this very point, the question seems rhetorical, 2 more episodes to find the answer.

Let's pray.
