I think everyone should watch Summer Snow; a classic jdorama. Summer Snow is a mellow romance/family/human drama show with good slice of life part.
For the purest slice of life show, just try Pan to Soup.
Just mixes some elements of medic; periodical/history; science fiction; romance; and human drama to an awesome serial potion. Then add some powder of epicness (I dont know, there's some feeling of epicness in every episode) and a great OST.
Maybe there are bits of sour ingredients in 2-3 over melodramatic scenes; and thenn.. VOILA ... you 'll got JIN, an unforgettable journey.
IMHO; the BIGGEST flaw of this drama is being too meaningful and too beautiful.
People often overlook this type of gem because they just want drooling over their beautiful biases and watching fun fluffy stuffs.

till the recent subbed episode, for me this series rapidly closing the gap to Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Saikou no Rikon as the best romcom doramas...
