Healer might sound like a typical justice-prevails story where the good guys go through troubles but win at the end and the bad guys get their punishment; with a super hero jumping across roofs and defeating bunches of guys at the same time. Well that’s true, if you want to think of it that way. But strangely, no matter how ordinary and overused the plot might sound, it’s portrayed perfectly. Genuineness is not only about new ideas but new and fresh portrayals of the already tackled ideas.
Of course acting is superb. Every one did a wonderful job. What impressed me the most was the younger selves of the 5 friends! How could they find people who look so much alike and with such skills? Every time one of them would be on screen I’d simply stare.
The chemistry between the leads and the supporting actors was evident. Everyone seemed comfortable and well-aware of their roles. No one covering for the lack of skills for another.
Not a dull moment. No taking your eyes away. Especially the moments of Healer and Young Shin AND Moon Ho’s emotional outbursts. Moon Ho for me was the best thing about the drama and I officially fell in love with him.
The new Park Min Young was groundbreaking in every single aspect.
As for themes; I loved how they tackled the concept of family in its different aspects and probabilities; in a touching way. How money and authority can change people. How much freedom of opinion are we practically allowed?! Can people actually change each other and help them become better people? Are dreams definite sources or can they be changeable? And the most urging and universal question; does justice ultimately prevail?

This drama may seem to be simple at the beginning, very funny, romance, arrange marriage,political..etc.. so it would seem boring and light BUT then as you you GO ON and KEEP on watching you'll find out the things that this DRAMA wants to CONVEY to the viewers, this is one of the dramas that its not merely for entertainment but also to disseminate information and message to the world or all viewers..This drama tackles the different problems that we are encountering not only on our community but all around the world as it represents this nine regions on the drama..

The most important thing in a drama—especially one built on the enemies-to-lovers trope—is ✨C H E M I S T R Y✨. And going into Prisoner of Beauty, that was exactly what I was waiting for: the dynamic between Wei Shao and Xiao Qiao.And. I. Am. Not. Disappointed.
That very first moment—when Wei Shao opened the curtain and saw Manman… yeah, that scene was insane. The shot composition, the way the camera held on his gaze, the shift in his expression—it genuinely felt like time stopped. You could literally see the moment something changed in him. And from that point on, the chemistry? Already there.
But what makes it even better is that it doesn’t just stay at that level—it builds. Slowly, steadily, and then suddenly… it explodes 🔥🔥🔥
This drama really understands the essence of enemies-to-lovers. It’s not just about two people who dislike each other and suddenly fall in love. It’s about tension, resistance, denial, and then eventually—acceptance. And here, every step of that journey feels earned.
What truly won me over is Wei Shao’s emotional progression. At the beginning, you can clearly see the distance—even a hint of disdain—in how he treats Xiao Qiao. He’s guarded, controlled, and emotionally closed off. But as the story unfolds, layer by layer, that wall starts to crack. And when he finally falls… he falls completely. Sasaki Nozomi was outstanding as Rio, I was seriously impressed with her ability to master every emotion out there from tragic lover to cold ice queen to bubbly school girl. I often find angsty characters a bit of a bore however hard their lives are but I loved Rio! Her friends were equally likable and I almost wished we could have seen a bit more of them but overall I'm glad the story didn't try and steer off into millions of sub-plots that never get developed like a lot of movies do.
The thing I loved most about this film however was Tanihara Shosuke as Kouki. He was such an ordinary guy, nothing special about him, but the way we saw him through Rio's eyes made him appear to be the most special man on the planet. I was initially put off by the age gap but a few minutes into this film and it was completely forgotten. Straight after watching the film test yourself, would you pick Kouki over a thousand Matsujuns? I felt I could and would (if such a miracle ever occurred).
The story was touching, sad and the leads relationship felt very real, overall a romantic, interesting and heartbreaking film.

Overall and Story:
As a remake, there were many similarities between this and the original such as: the plot, some characters, and the concept. The show is based on criminal profiling and being able to “predict” an unsub’s (aka unidentified subject) actions through their psychological state. With the understanding of the unsub’s mental state and upbringing the team can help solve cases and prevent the unsub from striking again. The drama did “well” in this aspect. They broke down facts and solved crimes, but some details came out of nowhere. For a few cases, the profiling of the unsub felt far-fetched and unrealistic. I caught myself constantly wondering how the team deducted this information, but we never found out how.
The first few episodes were refreshing so the show felt promising and was intriguing. However, as the show progressed the cases and the criminals felt sapless. The cases may be similar to the original, but they lacked depth. The overarching antagonist in this drama also lacked intensity causing the drama to not have a strong and interesting (in a morbid pleasure kind of way) plot.
Acting/Cast:
About fifty percent of my decision to watch this was due to Lee Joon Gi. He portrayed Kim Hyun Joon who is an original character in this remake and as usual, I was charmed by his acting. Moon Chae Won is where I’m most dissatisfied. There’s no doubt that Moon Chae Won is a great actress, but the role of Ha Sun Woo was bland and stiff. I’m all for a tough female who doesn’t need romance in her life and can kick butt, but she was uninteresting to watch. The scriptwriter’s idea of a strong and independent female was far from amazing.
While we’re on the topic of the scriptwriters…they ruined the original Criminal Minds team. Lee Han was supposed to be Reid, Na Na was supposed to be Garcia, and Kang Ki Hyung was supposed to be Hotchner. I say supposed to be, because they failed miserably. I understand that there will be deviations here and there with remakes, but their character deviations were just atrocious. Lee Han reminds me a smart weakling who does nothing to add to the team, Na Na is trying so hard to be quirky she’s coming off as an annoying auntie who is a computer geek, and Kang Ki Hyung was…dull. There’s something about being the head of the team and going through what this character goes through that makes him stoic and fierce. His role knows the bitterness of the job, but sticks with it because he wants to better the lives of others by keeping these criminals off the street. The character, Kang Ki Hyung, was colorless and had no impact. I have not seen these actors in any other roles, but I don’t think it’s the actors fault that these characters were appalling. I truly believe it was the scriptwriters.
Last Thoughts:
It was hard to watch this series as a fan of the original because it’s difficult to not compare. Some of the cases are almost identical to the original so I couldn’t help but to compare. I firmly believe that the downfall of this drama wasn’t the cast, but the scriptwriters. The story and characters weren’t captivating. Maybe it’s because this series is so short that the scriptwriters had to rush the plot along, but a drama doesn’t need length for the content to be great.
If you’ve seen or are a fan of the original Criminals Minds I would not recommend you to watch this. If you’ve never seen Criminal Minds and enjoy crime/detective dramas I would recommend this with a grain of salt. It’s definitely not the best drama I’ve seen, but it’s also not the worst. It just lacked something to make it captivating.

Review @ ep20.So this was on my watchlist because I like YangYang but dang.
There were so many things wrong with this drama and IMO the only good thing about this drama is the visually appealing casts and their camaraderie with each other and also some of the emotionally charged rescue scenes.
So far this drama doesn’t really care about details/continuity and also getting proper procedures right. I am by no means a medical professional or a firefighter but even I can tell a lot of things that has happened so far didn't seem right and is so unbelievable and unrealistic but I guess the emotional tug of it is canceling out the lack of realism for a lot of people.
Then let’s get to the main leads, I love YangYang but the constant stoic frowny face was not giving at all. Sometimes his expressions were over the top and not adequate for the corresponding scene.
That face worked in Who Rules The World because he was supposed to be shrouded in mystery as Prince Feng Lanxi with the alter ego of Hei-Fengxi, it didn’t work that well in You Are My Glory but the script/plot in that one was better and also the chemistry/maturity of the characters covered up for it. I guess YangYang equates serious/intense with Stoic/frowny face.
But in this one I can barely feel any chemistry between the leads (which is surprising considering the rumor that they are dating). We are being told that they have this epic love that has made both of them stay single and maybe even celibate for 10years but I just can’t see it in the present time, we can’t see why they like each other because they end up fighting after almost every conversation and don’t seem to have the same life ideals and values. Even the flashbacks we’ve been shown so far doesn't really show me this epic love story, it was cute and all for a high school romance but nothing so life altering in the way it’s being presented in the present time. So honestly it doesn’t really make you care about the lead’s getting together. How many high school romance make it all the way?
The FL is basically suffering from Stockholm syndrome with her family and I seriously get the trauma she is dealing with but some of her character portrayal doesn’t make any sense. She’s very weak/meek towards her mom which is very understandable according to the storyline so far. But I don’t get why she is sassy/bold with the ML one minute but whenever they get into the rinse/repeat rollercoaster scene that has been their interactions for the last 20eps where they have the “we can’t be together because I don’t have the courage to fight for you but I will be stalking you and asking you why you aren’t seeking me out all the time & fighting for me even though I am the one that can’t commit to the relationship because of my family” conversation and she’s uttering this words in the most lowest voice possible with downcast eyes and pathetic/demur demeanor.
I honestly tolerated the pathetic/weak/timid/demur characterization of the FL because of the upbringing she had but my tolerance level went to ZERO after the supermarket scene in ep20. The female lead had always not only stood up to her creepy delusional brother prior to that scene but also even lashed out at him but all of a sudden we are supposed to accept her acting terrified/petrified of him in the supermarket all because of a freaking bag of chips, puhhhhh-lease. That scene made zero sense and was done for no other reason than the ML and the FL’s brother to have a testosterone filled pissing contest and for the ML to be the hero and save the day by rescuing the FL and honestly it was just beyond ridiculous.
I should have dropped this drama but I will complete it with the help of the fast forward ⏩ button and except you really like any or both of the leads or you just want to watch a fire fighting show where you don’t really care about accuracy and correct details/procedures then go ahead and watch this otherwise I strongly advise you to not bother with this.

Even with the fast forward ⏩ this was a struggle to finish. It didn’t get worse by any stretch of the imagination and although there were lots of cute scenes and heartbreaking scenes that tugged at the heart, for me it didn’t get any better either.
Typical CDrama kumbaya ending. It’s so weird that a wedding was talked about so much in lots of episodes but there was now no wedding at the end of the drama, I don’t really understand the directional decision on that but honestly I don’t even care because I was just happy to finally finish the drama and put it in the forgotten pile.
The drama just had lots of doom and gloom and the romance while cute at times was very muted for an adult based drama so it didn’t even balance out all the heaviness of the doom and gloom.
I definitely won’t ever be rewatching this. Like I said earlier except you are a HUGE fan of either of the leads or want to watch a highly questionable “right procedural” fire fighting and error filled medical show, by all means have at it, if not, do yourself a favor and don’t bother with this.

IM GONNA BE VERY HONEST
General Setting: Happy Ending, low romance, high on politicsIf you are looking for good execution, directing or romance then this is not for you. To be honest, the clips of the leads I saw on twitter made me excited to watch this. However, when I saw the actual scenes it was so disappointing. The first half of the drama is good although the pacing is messy and there are many mini plots which they try to end quickly. But still its interesting and you feel like watching more. Around eps 20 onwards it started going downhill with poor build-up and really bad introduction of plots. One main example is the story of song han. Just by watching the drama I could tell how much they had to cut out because really the progression was bad for his arc. One minute he is following songmo like a loyal brother 2 eps later suddenly he wants to kill songmo and has all the ambitions he never had. This is just one example.
The entire drama started with a time slip. This time slip was mentioned like maybe 2 times(?) in the entire drama. But i can understand cause the minute she stopped Songmo from his rebelling plans she couldn't really predict what happens anymore. BUT at least she should have like explained it to Songmo (she tried for like 5mins on their wedding night). So the entire "time travel" plot was dropped.
Romance....I didnt feel the chemistry at all....the chemistry the two had in ep 1 practically carried the whole show cause once they got married it felt like i was watching a 50year old married couple instead of a newly married couple. Honestly i blame this on the execution cause their kiss scenes were shot so bad all the random camera angles and cut scenes...their tension was much stronger when they weren't together lol .
I'm honestly not sure why people are rating this so high and claiming it to be the drama of the year...its really not..its a very normal drama i feel. First half good second half bad. The villains are mediocre only appear at the end, the battle was so underwhelming (they tried to make it emotional but...). Jiyong the character i thought will be her advisor and guardian for the time travel plot was a character with no role and just acted all mighty.
Overall, had expectations for the drama but was let down. Acting was subpar as well so probably will not rewatch this...

Awesome characters, great story, great balance between drama and action, love the humour in the series.In my opinion it is a must watch.
The principal roles are perfectly cast.
Chang-Young is a brilliant actor, has been wonderful to see its growth and development as an actor. I loved the second chapter, so funny and interesting. Highly Recommended.
As painful as bullying can be, I feel that at the end of the series there will be a good message about tolerance, education and respect. ❤️

Revenge Never Looked So Good
The title of the drama 春花厌 {Chūn Huā Yàn} means "The Withering Spring Blossom." I feel this is important because it holds the key to the surface of the story but also to the tragedy that the characters are going through. In Chinese, 春花 {chūn huā} means "Spring Blossom": something vibrant and full of life. On the other hand 厌 (yàn) shows feelings of disgust or waiting for things to go awry, like Mei Lin's spirit who was once colorful but now it wears down and withers. ╥﹏╥The story begins with Prince Murong Jing He - the proud commander of the Weibei Army who successfully reclaims Qingzhou {a lost territory of the Great Yan Dynasty} It’s supposed to be his crowning achievement and a chance to be known as a hero. But things turn dark because a massive fire breaks out soon after he takes back the city and it burns everything in its path and leaving only ruins sorrow behind. Rumors spread everywhere and soon people are branding Murong Jing He as the "Butcher General" They accuse him of ordering the city’s destruction as punishment for Qingzhou’s "betrayal" of Great Yan. His victory turns into something dark and now he is painted as a cold-hearted killer rather than a savior.
Then we meet Mei Lin who is a young girl who loses everything in the flames of Qingzhou. Her entire family is gone and her bright future is reduced to ashes. She now hates Murong Jing He, who she believes is responsible for her pain. She is devastated and alone so she swears to make him pay. Mei Lin joins a secret organization known as the Shadow Works, where she undergoes years of punishing training and physical suffering, she is even made to consume a deadly poison to prove that she can survive.
After years of training, Mei Lin is finally assigned to kill her target aka Prince Murong Jing He. She is then disguised as one of a hundred Xiyan beauties sent to Great Yan in a political marriage alliance and infiltrates his world. She hides her true identity and becomes one of many beautiful faces in the court while she plans to fulfill her vow of vengeance.
But here is the kicker, hehe (ˊ˘ˋ*): Mei Lin doesn't know that Murong Jing He is in fact the mastermind of her life right now and the one behind the Shadow organization she joined. He manipulated the events behind the scenes to ensure she turned into his assassin. In a very twisted way, she has been working her way through a path he had always planned before her because she was blinded by her hate and was willing to follow anyone who could lead her to be successful in her revenge.
But while she is trying to kill him, the sparks between Mei Lin and Murong Jing He are so intense that half the time, I was just thinking "Wait, do they want to kill each other or kiss?" Spoiler: it’s definitely both and it’s absolute fire lmao. I felt like watching the most dangerous love game ever where survival is on the line and the weapons are swords, poisoned tea and those looks they keep giving each other. I think it was part a deadly chess match, part flirtation and I was just screaming at the screen like “JUST KISS ALREADY!” But also “Wait, don’t trust him GIRL!” my emotion's were all over the place ngl because one second they were swinging swords at each other and the next they were exchanging horny stares across the room. It was too much for my brain.
Leaving that aside, even more than the amazing hate-to-love plot, another thing I liked about this show is the psychological part. I mean, you see cool martial arts (and they are great and very badass), but from the start, it felt like the true fight was in Mei Lin's thoughts. She wants revenge but also fights with herself about if the prince is the beast she has been told. You get caught up in her inner fight. Do you cheer for her to beat him, or do you hope they join up and set the world on fire together? (I picked the second one from episode 1, to be honest)
Regarding the male lead, I really loved him because he isn’t just some villainous warlord, the show does a good job giving him mystery and charisma so that you are constantly guessing his true intentions. I love him - he is definitely one of my top “red flags turned green.” As the episodes went on and I started seeing the way he cares about Mei Lin, my heart went weak at him all the damn time. He goes from “dangerous enemy” to “obsessed protector” and I am a sucker for that trope.
The female lead is amazing as well. She is not your typical soft and naive character we are used to in cdramas - she is fierce and has this tough exterior that instantly sets her apart. And I love that beneath all that strength, she is still soft and deeply caring especially when it comes to the main lead. Once their love kicks off, she shows this warmth and loyalty that just melts your heart. She is both a fighter and a lover.
And visually, this show pops. I mean the ethereal landscapes and the detailed costumes look like they belong in a museum, everything is so beautiful, most scenes were a FEAST for my eyes ffs, everything looked so dreamlike especially when the energy between the two leads takes over. It’s like the entire world shrinks down to just the two of them, fighting, plotting, and yearning. Wu Jin Yan and Liu Xue Yi are pure fire on screen, their chemistry legit radiates more heat than that flame which killed 100k people.
Why 8.0?
SPOILER AHEAD – DON’T READ UNLESS YOU FINISHED THE SHOW
I think the last episode was just completely unnecessary. The novel this show is based on actually gives the characters a happy ending, so for the show to go the sad route just doesn’t make any sense to me. After all the build-up, all the intense character development and the way their love grows through betrayal, danger, and everything in between, the tragic ending feels like a slap in the face. They had so much potential as a couple and both Mei Lin and Murong Jing He deserved a real chance at happiness after everything they went through.
If the original source material had a tragic ending, maybe it would have felt fitting or necessary to stay true to that tone. But in this case, it’s not even how the novel ends. Choosing a heartbreaking finish here feels like a forced twist that adds unnecessary sadness to an already intense story. In the end I think its a letdown to deviate so far from the source material, especially when a happy ending would have felt so satisfying and earned after all they went through. I genuinely think this choice was more about shock value than good storytelling and it’s disappointing when you consider how well they handled the rest of the show. Instead of leaving me with a sense of closure, it leaves me asking, “Why did it have to end like this?”

Top level of entertainment. Can’t say the same about the quality of writing.
I want to start by saying - I did enjoy the show a lot, almost till the end. I watched the episodes as soon as they dropped. That said, I’m not gonna pretend like it’s some writing masterpiece - it’s not. It often hits the “teen’s first fanfic” level. Did I mind? Not really. I went into it for the Dear Daddy Devil and Bai Lu’s acting, and these two aspects were easily 10/10.What did the drama do great? Tantai Jin’s arc. The questions of predestined path, freedom and choice, the importance of having the supportive community and people that trust and love. How much of where we end is on us, and how much can be explained by how others treat us? At which point we should take responsibility? Is revenge and justice the same? What’s more important - trust or perceived truth? Surprisingly a lot of depth in his story. Sadly, the writers had some issues with keeping Tantai Jin's wits and cunning nature and also progressing the plot - which led to quite a few moments when his brain must have been turned off to make such dumb choices.
Luo Yun Xi in the role? Pure perfection. The emo angst fits him so well, I was in awe. Whatever you ask from him - he will deliver it and more, in the most beautiful and heartbreaking way. I never knew an actor who presents suffering in such a stunning way.
Then we have Li Su Su played by Bai Lu. What a performance. She did great as a more idealistic and naive Su Su, desperate and driven Xi Wu, and the duality of Sang Jiu. Each character/persona was easily distinguishable with the portrayal. The angst and pain Bai Lu can deliver - be it extreme or subtle - was just phenomenal and truly breaking one’s heart. I don’t think the character herself has much to offer though. Any weaker performance than the perfection Bai Lu presented, would make Li Su Su either boring or insufferable. I just feel bad for the girl, because the writers obviously did not give a fuck about this character… She was this great thanks to the actress and the chemistry she had with Luo Yun Xi.
And that chemistry should be illegal. How can such a questionable and build on a toxic fundamentals relationship still seem so amazing, beautiful and perfect? Love, hate, hope, trust, doubt, protection, resentment, fear - what a mix of conflicting emotions and motivations. And that complexity was what made this duo so entertaining and such a blast to watch.
Beside the main characters, I want to give big props to Chen Du Ling who played Ye Bing Chang. How much I hated this character, how much I loved the performance. It’s also impossible not to appreciate Pian Ran - stunning arc as a side plot, amazing conclusion fitting the plot, great performance by Sun Zhen Ni.
Talking about the characters, it’s time to talk about the biggest sin this show and the writer committed - they made everyone so dumb, I did not even care who will win and who will lose, because I did not see a bright future no matter which side gets the victory.
So many things did not make any sense, but you cannot really call them plot holes, because they kind of had an explanation - lack of working brain cells. At first I found it amusing, but at some point it just frustrated me on a whole new level. You don’t know how to write a proper conflict and the origin of it, so you just make your character dumb for a few scenes to set it up.
That also led to repetitive scenes and arcs - just rewriting the same moments we have seen a few episodes ago, with small changes here and there. Refusing to give your characters’ proper character development can only lead to them making the same mistakes over and over and over again. This is one man show, and all the other characters are just a background for his story.
I have to say though, I’m quite impressed with the directing and editing taking into consideration how much of the plot and scenes had to be cut down to fit the 40 episodes format. Yes, there were many moments that the pacing seemed like a car chase, but the overall story was still relatively easy to follow and understand. On the other hand, the make-up artists need to change their careers, because the thing these actors had on their faces should be illegal to present to the public. Loved the costumes, liked the set and magical objects designs. Loved how they Sailor Moon changed their clothes when they reached new powers.
The soundtrack had some good moments, but there were also “oops” bits like them playing a pop royalty free facebook ads like music in the background in the last episode.
Overall, I had a lot of fun, later I had less fun, by the end I had a lot of fun ranting. One could say it’s a full on personal journey I had with this drama, and they would not be wrong.

Its a shame most do not understand this series, worth every minute
Believe it or not, this series is the most realistic representation of relationships out there. Relationships are not all cute and cuddly like we see in other bls, some relationships are hella toxic but the partners choose to work on them over and over again because they are committed to each other,To start with, the beginning of the whole series was not love at first sight kind of a thing, It was horny at first sight. The writers and the directors, and the actors did an amazing job showcasing this. Remember how the sex was so cringe you would just feel like just fast forwarding to after its done? It was precise depiction of, hey I have zero feelings for this dude I just want to bed him.
Second, these are two plyers who have no idea how to cherish a relationship. They know they used to play other people so trust levels are at a negative. How they show love, one is being supper possessive and selfish because they do not know how to deal with the overwhelming feelings they cannot understand. The other thinks just because I stopped sleeping around and am only with him he should automatically understand and trust me even when I have put zero effort to risk it all and share how I feel. Of course the relationship is going to be so toxic, and don't stay in your bubble of perfect meet, fall in love, have emotional sex and think that's how it is.
What I love most about this is how the actors portrayed the growth, from two people who just have no idea what they are doing to making numerous mistakes and having horny sex you do not wanna watch to two people who took time to understand each other, not afraid to show their emotions and have butterflies in the stomach kind of sex scenes. Kudos to the whole team for the ability to show the difference. They were not afraid to take the risk and that's why they have my support a million percent.
Fahlan and Sherbert are my favorite couple because they portrayed the most growth emotionally and their chemistry on screen improved a lot. I love that the other two side couples were there to balance toxicity with cuteness showing different sides of relationships. I think this series does not deserve the hate its is getting out there and I hope the team does not give up. I am definitely looking forward to more projects from them

Honestly, I have never got attached to more than one family in some drama but here I got too deep into the story of every family. Their interactions, their actions, their conversations, it all felt so raw, so real and so damn natural. I totally had a feeling like they're my neighbors and their kids my friends.
The reason why I love this Reply so much is also cause of the '80s, that nostalgic period of time where my parents were young and had their own kids and friends like the adults in this Reply, that period of time where some of the best movies and music artists appeared. I love how they made all so real, like in the real '80s, from their clothes, make up, haircuts, electrical devices, houses to music, movies, cinemas, bars, taverns. Production is awesome for this drama, I don't have one single complain about that. Plus OST is so wonderful, some songs are made to be danced to them, some are so melancholic with some sad tones and some are so beautiful and made for pure enjoyment while listening them.
I didn't care for the husband hunt. I really didn't care. While in other two Reply dramas that romance part was much more important and pretty much the whole drama plot, here it was just on the outside the main plot but actually inside of it that was the least important. Here words like family, friends, childhood, bonding, neighbors are way more big than romance. Which worked totally fine for me.
These families are pure gold. I laughed so much with them, I cried with them, I rooted with them, cheering with them, screaming and yelling with them, I was singing and dancing with them, they did all that to me. One family though stood up the most and that would be the Kim's. Omo, family like that is so freaking rare, I mean president Kim must be the most unique and funny dad ever with most gentle and good heart, his wife, Mi-ran is one hell of a mom, the coolest mom ever and so crazy, I seriously adore that woman, she carried the whole show for me truthfully. And their kids, JB- one big guy with big dreams who always wants to help everyone and always smiles, such a sensitive, romantic and funny soul; and JH- oh well I could talk about that guy whole night and day.
He is for me the most complex character in this drama, the one who was the most selfless, most realistic and strong one, yes the one who didn't show his feeling to the end to anyone ever but through his actions you could feel and see that, sometimes words aren't enough to say and explain what heart feels and agree completely with that saying. You could feel his emotions if you'd want to, that's what I think. And no matter what he was there for everyone, for his parents- how he in one episode did that stupid joke with his dad just to make him smile, how he continued to follow and to accomplish his brother's dream, how he prepared that awesome surprise for his mom's birthday, how he helped Taek in some way in most crucial moment, how he drank with Sun-woo in silence and was beside him to comfort him, I mean he is just too perfect and I was so satisfied and my heart was full when I saw him smile at the end, I knew he was happy. ;)
There are others I loved, Mr. Choi-Taek's dad, very cool and charismatic man, Bo-ra with all her intelligence and vulnerability combined with being strong and tough, DR- the hilarious, funny, crazy and always supportive friend who just knows what to say and when, so many wonderfully written characters are in this drama and that is what captured me. And their friendship, between those little 5 friends from their childhood till who knows when, they had so much fun together, so many sad moments, difficult moment, amazing and adventurous ones, I can only admire that powerful bond they had. And those three women, their craziness in their ages, their full loyalty to each other and care, just fantastic. That is what drama is about. Completely firm and undeniable friendship.
One thing I just didn't like is that romance part. It was weak for my taste and two last episodes were really weak from that point. I didn't mind who was the hubby at the end, well I was sad and cried a little and watched all I could find about other second lead but I accepted as DS's decision and her choice. And that was what actually bothered me. I won't say much cause opinions are so subjective and different so from my point of view I couldn't feel her chemistry in that amount with neither of them. I felt and saw love from second lead's and from main guy but from her head and heart it was too rushed and even after I read many things about clues and all those feelings, yes I could see that he was the one but as for her, it was too rushed and not deep at all. Also what made me angry it was that part when you make some guy to be a main role, having his narrating, voice, feelings, actions, everything from his point of view and then not include him in last two episode with enough screen time, I think it's very unfair and illogical. At least we should see how they stayed as cool as before, how they talked about that what he said even as a joke, at least they should say one damn sentence at the end as adults- like he is there and there,and also about DR, I mean those guys are main leads in this drama, they deserve it. I didn't like how it all came down to the Sung's, DS , Bo-ra and happenings only in that family.
But that is of course my own opinion. As for the rest it is absolutely amazing and outstanding drama and it should be seen most definitely. it is truly one heartwarming, sweet, great story about one little part of the neighborhood, families who live there, their kids, their stories, their adventures, their lives. And everyone of us could easily identify with them. I know I did and it was a great and unforgettable journey.

I'll start off by saying that I love Zhao Lusi and she's the main reason I started watching. ZYC is also a hottie, so that made the series on my watch list for sure. However, I was actually quite disappointed by the storyline and editing, so this actually landed on my skip list after finishing. Con#1: While other people were upset about Zhao Lusi's impersonation, I was actually upset about the first girl that took over Zhao Lusi's limelight. When I realized it was deliberate, I was more appeased, but the sudden character change felt jarring. The transition wasn't smooth, which brings me to:
Con #2: Terrible, terrible editing for this drama. I heard the production for this series was expensive, but they couldn't have invested a bit more money post-production to string the storyline better? Everything felt like it JUST occurred out of the blue and there's no rhyme or reason behind it.
Con #3: Much too creepy acting from ZYC. A lot of fans might think the way he spoke and acted was just flirty, but I actually found it very cringey. Nevermind the stalking for over 1000+ years, nevermind the random walk-in to her bedroom in the middle of the night, nevermind the deliberate teasing and touching of her when she was trying to get the lamp, nevermind any and all of that. Just the way he said her name made me cringe so hard...it felt too intimate.
Con #4: Second Prince Er Lang. Dude they really selected a good actor to play dumb. They did so well that I couldn't register him as the 2nd Prince when he revealed his identity. It was always Er Lang ?. And while he had the princely stature, he just didn't have the gravita to carry such a role. I felt the First Prince (his brother) was hot though lol and although he's punier in comparison, he was convincing.
Con #5: So many freaking plotholes. The ending sucked. There was zero explanation about it. Somehow things always manage to conveniently occur or appear when it's critically needed. Things just HAPPENED. No leadup to why.
Con #6: There was little to no character growth for any of the characters, with exception to Xuan Zhu. She was very consistent throughout the drama and in the end, although she made the ultimate sacrifice, she's aware of herself enough that point to know that it wasn't all altruistic. I enjoyed that. She was true to herself and took action to do what she wanted.
The con list is somewhat long , but I'm sure there's more.
The only pros with this drama is that it started Zhao Lusi, ZYC, Dai Yun Fan and Molly Wang to make a very watchable cast. The rest is utterly forgettable.

Healing, beauty and acceptance wrapped in spooky fairytales
Gosh, I spent 70% of this show with a lump in my throat, 10% with happy warmth in my chest and 20% bawling my eyes out.It's a fast, intense, twisty emotional roller coaster that keeps you engaged throughout.
The best thing about this drama is the smart and impactful portrayal of mental illness. It's not preachy, it's not overly idealistic, it doesn't try to pretend to be extra woke, it's not trying to pass itself as an educational program- it's really just a touching story about three damaged, emotionally stunted people who are trying to get by.
I am not a medical professional and I am not gonna waste time trying to analyze all the symptoms and guess the disorders and argue about that because that's grossly missing the point.
The main focus of this drama was showing the pain, frustration and sorrow that comes with suffering from trauma, dealing with conditions out of your hands and the hurt that comes with mental illness for both who have it and their family members.
But most of all it highlights the strength of these people, about how they help each other and get help from each other to make things a bit better.
It beautifully expresses themes of understanding, resilience, love and friendship between people who've had a very tough life.
Ofcourse, in typical K drama fashion, it's not without its cheesy tropes, cliches and some flair for dramatics but despite all of that it gets the message across in a powerful manner.
The beauty of it is that despite being filled with heartbreaking and emotional moments that make you shed tears and snot, it never lets the dark side become overpowering by adding much needed comic relief and heart warming moments that make you giggle and feel good inside.
There is extra charm in people who are beautiful AND excellent actors. All the cast delivers phenomenally with the two main leads having electric chemistry with each other and sharing glorious, steamy kisses that will go down in k drama history. ;)
The show is easy to watch with a bit of suspense, thrill, murder mystery, psychotic parents and drama mixed with emotion, heart and healing. It's fast paced peppered with wholesome slow moments and amazing character growth.
Seo Ye Ji's impulsive, passionate, gorgeously dressed, blunt, morally questionable female lead with childlike tendencies is undoubtedly a crowd favorite.
On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun's handsome, selfless, persevering male lead with bambi eyes and a mutinous heart brings his own to the table. (Even though I am usually not a fan of his acting and feel like he has nothing behind his eyes, somehow this role happened to be convincing and basically one of his best.)
Finally, bringing them both together, the veteren Oh Jung Sae brought forth an endearing character suffering from autism who is extremely pure hearted and just trying his best.
The moments between these three are powerful and literally make you pray for these people and their happiness. The side characters are all relevant and enhance the flavor of the show
The OST is stunning, the direction is beautiful and the pretty story telling incorporating scary fairytales and creepy animations brings everything full circle.
It's definitely binge worthy and a full of feeling ride that you don't want to miss.
