I unexpectedly loved it!!

The reason I think I didn't watch the drama as soon as i saw it is because there is only 5 episodes and each episode is like 30 mins each. I personally don't like short dramas.

However ...

This drama doesn't only have a unique storyline but to me it actually feels more realistic if you know what I mean.

There are a lot of BL moments.
The story has a good pace to it.
All the characters are cute.
There is 'real' kissing
There is drama

In the end this drama made me realize don't decide to watch a drama based on reviews and the summary alone. Watch the first episode then decided.

WE NEED MORE EPISODES(contains alot of spoilers)

So at the beginning till the part where Lin Ze got hurt from a fire and it took so long to recover.. but by the time he recovered it was already episode 21 which is annoying because midway was so boring, I sped it all and skipped some parts. The ending I would say is happy cuz ChengMeng and Lin zhe reunite but it was disappointing how a perfect proposal at the snow field with flowers can go wrong because of Qi chengyu, I was sus of from the very beginning he showed up in the story, He made me so mad middleway the story. At the end I wanna see XiaTian and Zhu get married, I wanna see a double marriage- but sadly that didnt happen cuz we didnt see a actual proposal from Linzhe, because of Qi chengyu setting bombs everywhere.. I like Gongwanyi and Jixiaobing they are both a very good match to play lead roles.

The actors are very good, the plot is very interesting as it makes you feel like your there, you can expect to find yourself crying over a situation from the drama. It is a very lovely drama about young love, trust, anger, and college. Apart from that it conveys a beatiful message;to trust your partner wherever you are. What makes this an excellent drama is the lively acting, the lovely plot and overall message, and the goodlooking cast. They all did so well in playing the part , I will forever remember them from this specific drama. While watching this i felt so happy, the love portrayed is so realistic it makes you happy and content. 10/10 recommend watching!

Finally I saw this movie!

Surprisingly this movie was a very quiet one. After reading it's a movie about a rock band, I expected it to be more ..loud..I guess? But don't worry in the end you'll still get to hear some music!

Those four girls who are very different and don't seem like they would fit together, in the end make up a really good team. Each of them has their own struggles and each of them has a lovely personality. You get to discover more and more about them as they try to make their performance a perfect one, each of them working hard on their own. Still I'd say the story is more about getting together than accomplishing that one goal. Each of the girls were acting their part very well, especially our fun and quirky Korean girl, and even some of the supporting roles were adorkable.

I would say it's a slice of life themed movie, most of the time you feel like an observer to what's going on in this part of their life. It gets a little weird sometimes, but I love that Japanese weirdness. There are some scenes that just cracked me up, while others would probably think: What the heck is going on here? I just love weird stories about weird people. ^^

When should you watch the movie? On a cold and rainy afternoon, when you have nothing else to do, if you want something fun and sweet without a lot of drama, if you like that slice of life stuff, if you like weird people like I do :D

I enjoyed it, but the film can drag on a little, so I'd probably not rewatch it.

So there's only one thing left to say: LINDA LINDA! LINDA LINDA LINDAAAA ~

- a rough little review -
Upon watching this short film I didn’t really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised! The story line is one you rarely see upon korean dramas in which they highlight the harsh reality of the struggles young adults face when entering the work force. This story emotionally made me feel pity and sadness for the characters and overall sympathise with their situations as it truly is what others are experiencing around the world. For a short film to do this and make me interested the whole way through gets a good mark in my book. The ending made me have mixed feelings as it wasn’t necessarily good or bad, but in reality you cannot expect a completely happy ending - so I commend the writers that they did this.
As for the cast I think they did a wonderful job at portraying their roles and will definitely watch more of their future work!
Overall, this is a short film I’d recommend to those who like realistic plot lines and if your into a very lovey dovey type short film this probably isn’t for you, but there are some sweet scenes in here so watch it anyway! (NGL i teared a little)

As a member of the LGBT, I would like to say THANK YOU to the director for having the courage to make this kind of movie and to show that it is not bad to make genres like this because of discrimination. It really warms my heart and I hope for more movies or dramas like this. <3

Let's move on to the review.

I like the plot, the guy being sexually confused and all of that, but I agreed to most of the comments that it is a bit rushed for the character's development to bloom. I want to know more about their roles and more about the story line. It could've been more of a drama series than a movie to make it smooth. The ending, I just can't. Another deduction of the point for the story line because of the ending, it left me hanging, I'm like "That's it?", Again, I wanted to know more and more about the characters, the story and the aftermath,  but rather than that, I think that it is really a good plot & the mixture of suspense and romance, it just needed to be longer.

The characters. A BIG SALUTE to OH SEUNG HOON (Yeong Woo) and PARK SON WOONG (Jae Ha) for also having the courage to take those roles. Oh Seung Hoon is just a rookie to acting but he is doing so well and I wish him for more leads because I will watch his dramas/movies for sure. <3

The background music really fits the scenes so I have no problem with it.

Rewatch? I would rewatch for that short romance of Yeong Woo and Jae Ha (LOL). But plot-wise, I would watch it again also.

Overall, amazing cast and acting, good story line, and great movie! :)

PS. I'm having a crush on Seung Hoon after watching this because of taking the role, omg Nam Joo Hyuk I'm sorry, I will always love you and support you :')

Based on the summary and cover art, I was super excited going into this drama. Unfortunately, it fell a bit flat for me. Although I liked the subdued, almost lazy tone of this series, the plot itself was too slow-paced for my liking and didn't do the "big reveal" justice. I feel like the plot twist, which is revealed in the final episode, is really the crux of this story, and all of the events leading up to it don't have much meaningful significance until the twist is revealed. As a result, it kind of feels like we're meandering along without a clear end-sight in mind. The final episode, to me, was the most interesting and, after I finished it, I was left wishing that the same energy and dynamic there had been applied to episodes 1 through 5 as well. Moreover, the story line I was most interested in (Ma Ri's) got the least amount of time devoted to it, and I couldn't really get into the other ones. All in all it was a dull lead up to a great climax that left me wishing the set up and execution had been sharper (though I know it's based on a book so I guess there's only so much the screenwriters could do with the story line).

As for the characters and acting, I thought all of the actors did well in their roles. I do, however, agree with someone's comment below that the two romantic interests had no chemistry whatsoever, so I found it a little hard to believe. While it kind of makes sense once the reason for the strain is revealed, I do wish that the actors had been able to portray a little more interest or *something* to make the relationship feel less sterile.

Overall I wouldn't say this is a bad drama, but I guess I went in with too high of expectations and came out feeling let down. Having only 6 episodes at about an hour each, it's not a huge investment of your time, but it wouldn't be the first drama I'd recommend.

And for anyone curious/hesitant about the horror tag: Aside from one or two quick jump scares, I didn't find it scary at all. It kind of gives me a Ghost Whisperer vibe, so I think it'll be okay for those who are interested but not into the scary stuff (which I'm not really into either).

What a soothing little show. It is completely zen, from her voice in off to her cooking to her little, pretty apartment and nice songs in the background. I am thinking of rewatching this every time I feel stressed out (it is just an 12-episode length of around 8minutes long each episode, and it is on Youtube! to watch it legally 😱)

If you need something relaxing after a long day, just like the FL when she comes home, watch this nice little show. She provides the recipe of every dinner she makes, and the expression on her face when she says おいしい will make you smile instantly.

"Mai Muang" is a old thai drama from 1999 which stars Andrew Gregson and Benz Pornchita in their younger years. It can`t be found anywhere with english subtitles so i watched it raw on Youtube. It was worth it. The production clearly didn`t rely on ratings making this lakhorn but really wanted to show the reality in humanity through the social classes, especially when it came to male modelling business where famous model Boo Rajit (played by Lek Aisoon) gets into an affair with a much older rich lady who has a grand daughter named Mai (played by Benz) who hates him with her every being, knowing he is a gold-digger and using her grandmother for her money. It doesn`t get better when Boo Rajit`s only son,the handsome and golden-hearted Charan (played by Andrew) also moves in after his mother dies in a car accident.Mai tries to figure out a way to kick the father and son out while Boo Rajit tries to use Charan for his own benefits and always manipulates him to do what he wants.

I have to say, this is not a love-story and barely has any romance. In fact both main-leads spend much more time with other people on-screen which could be frustrating at times because things got so much more interesting in their every interaction. There was so much hatred and disgust oozing out of Mai already from the start towards Charan that there is this huge wall between them that never got broken until the end.Andrew brought out a charm in the character of Charan who is a person that despite suffering from loneliness and despair always tried to find positive things in life.Benz is such a terrific actress and conveyed the emotions of such a complex heroine as Mai so well.Living rich but being a orphan and having a grandmother only obsessed with younger men was a strain for Mai who found it easier to get hot-tempered and illogical instead. She has the best character developement where life keeps throwing obstacles in her path for her to find her true self.

Watching this lakhorn i could feel how sad it went along the second half because in this story both Charan and Mai are victims of such terrible deceit that it almost destroyed them.In many ways this must be one of the most angsty lakhorns i have ever watched since it explore so many topics like abortion, prostitution, exploitation, trauma, abandonement and the whole cast managed to act out all those emotions of sadness, heartbreak and torment so well.A lakhorn of the slice of life genre,it brought many tears out of me.

This movie gave me everything I expected in a beautiful love story. I loved the script, the cast and the background scenery. I like the fact that the story emphasizes love, friendship, camaraderie and togetherness. Yes, it is a boys love (boy x boy, yaoi) story and more. The actors portrayed the story beautifully, so much so, that your emotions become engaged. It makes you laugh, cry and smile. I loved the fact that it made me envision the romance between the characters. The more of the movie you watch, the more you can't wait to watch the next installment.

My jumping into Thai entertainment has been a fun ride so far with many satisfying discoveries. I was first introduced to the couple affectionately known as #PeteKao when YouTube recommended a three-part compilation of scenes from the series Kiss Me Again which featured the characters Pete and Kao.

How YouTube recommended it to me may have to do with me looking up Love of Siam after I watched it for the first time in late 2018, I think it was.

But I ended up waching the #PeteKao compilation. I then went on to watch Kiss: The Series (which I learned actually aired first, but its events take place after Kiss Me Again). And then I ended up officially becoming a fan.

So count me as one of the many people who looked forward to their story continuing with Dark Blue Kiss (รักไม่ระบุสถานะ). The series aired from October to December last year and I watched every episode the day after they first aired in Thailand. (Had to wait for the English subtitles of course, but all episodes were quickly uploaded to GMMTV’s official YouTube channel. Thanks GMM!)

Dark Blue Kiss was a fun, turbulent, but fully satisfying ride. A very soapy ride, to be sure. But a very satisfying series.

Dark Blue Kiss focused on Pete and Kao’s relationship hitting a bumpy patch with the arrival of troublemaker Non. Setting his sights on Kao, Non was the scheming villain wanting to steal the leading man away from the, well, other leading man.

It undoubtedly frustrated many fans watching the series. I can understand, but not agree with fans only wanting to see all happy scenes. Romantic scenes with kisses and perhaps more… action. Dark Blue Kiss was a drama series that showed how Pete and Kao’s relationship was tested and how they overcame it.

It had the type of story where the frustrations, misunderstandings, hurt feelings and difficult moments all piled up to help set up and culminate with a thoroughly satisfying conclusion. A conclusion that resulted in our main couple being stronger than they were at the start. But understandably, reaching that point requires an investment from the viewer. A commitment to see the entire series through in order to reach that fulfillment instead of just giving up on the series halfway through because there haven’t been enough kiss or bed scenes.

Now that’s certainly not the case for all fans. But it was a very loud faction of the audience and it was unfortunate that they were missing out on a well-developed story and thoroughly fun ride.

The second couple of Sun and Mork were also a highlight and perhaps got even more growth and development in the series than Pete and Kao. Of course, Sun and Mork were only peripheral characters in the previous Kiss series, so this was their opportunity to shine and have the spotlight on them.

Both couples’ stories though were equally engaging and in different ways. An established couple hitting an unexpected speed bump. And another couple just coming to terms with their new feelings for each other.

Dark Blue Kiss also had some very poignant and emotional moments, especially when it came to Kao struggling to keep his sexuality from his mother. Perhaps the best scene of the entire series was the moment Kao is able to honestly speak with his mother who comfortably reassured him that he never had any reason to worry about her possible reaction in the first place. A wonderful moment of unconditional love between a mother and son.

The series also certainly had plenty of lighthearted moments and balanced the heavier moments well.

The cast delivered good, solid performances. No question about the chemistry between Pete and Kao themselves, Tay Tawan Vihokratana and New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun. They have an undeniable chemistry that pops off the screen and are talented actors that can deliver any type of scene required of them, whether dramatic, romantic or something lighter.

Podd Suphakorn Sriphothong and Fluke Gawin Caskey as Sun and Mork also shared a great chemistry. Their complicated relationship was believable thanks to their performances.

AJ Chayapol Jutamat as Non, however, was a revelation. Having to walk the tightrope between a villain you love to hate and a broken character you can empathize with takes some skill. And AJ was able to show he could handle it.

Pluem Pongpisal as Sun’s brother Rain and the Gang of Sandee, Thada and June (Mild Lapassalan Jiravechsoontornkul, Mek Jirakit Thawornwong, Nicky Nachat Juntapun) helped provide much needed relief from the drama. And Ploy Patchatorn Thanawat as Manow rounds out the cast.

Oh and can we also appreciate these epic opening credits?

Sweet glimpses of romance, great chemistry and interesting storyline

I am often drawn to Thai Lakorns featuring time travel because most of them do not run on the same plot. This Lakorn follows Pete, our modern-day spoilt and irresponsible pra'ek who accidentally traveled back 100 years earlier during his great-grandfather Pian's era and ended up trading places with Pian. During that time, he also met Wan, played by Vill Wannarot. The twist to this story is that Pete thought Wan was his great-grandmother and tried his best unsuccessfully not to fall in love with her.

One reason that made this drama enjoyable for me is the dual roles that Film Thanapat played as a present-day influencer and his great grandfather, who looked identical to him. Film did an excellent job switching between playful and adorable Pete and a more matured and dignified Pian. His microexpressions were great, and Film in all his roles so far has impressed me through his superb acting. That said, I think he could have handled the crying scenes better, especially compared to Vill. She as Wan did well, too, although she did not show as much range as Film. However, she was on-point during the emotional scenes. She cried so prettily that even when the scenes tugged at my heartstrings, I could not help but admire her loveliness. Together they made a great-looking couple, and that heightened my enjoyment of the show.

While I was thrilled at the plot about two separate worlds bringing together two soul mates, I find the romantic tension a little lacking. There was not enough build-up of attraction and awareness of each other that convinced me that these two were falling in love, except perhaps towards the end. The romance was relatively chaste with innocent skinship, which I don't mind if there were implied near kisses and increasing intimacy (just like the scintillating chemistry between Pope and Bella in "Love Destiny"). Still, there was definite chemistry between them, and I started off rooting for Pian and Wan first and then was won over by the sweet interactions between Pete and Wan.

Other than the romance between Pete and Wan, the main couple, there was also the secondary relationship between Pian and Pink, Pete's best friend in the present. This is where I thought Film shined as well. His ability to act restrained as old-fashioned Pian while showing interest and care for Pink using his eyes and expressions. Through the love story between Pian and Pink, the drama took on heavier topics and presented everything beautifully in the story; topics like family responsibilities versus personal desires, the way families were made up, the principles and values that one believed in and held tightly, and how one's actions can seriously change the outcome of the future.

Speaking of Pink, Bifern Anchasa deserved praise acting as the self-sacrificing love interest of Pian. The show was smart in writing her character as someone who believed in time travel and understood the consequences of one changing history. The side plot concerning Pian and Pink made sense to me, even though many commented that the ending could have and should have been different for them. It would be great if the show made a spin-off focusing on Pian and Pink. Without revealing spoilers, it is a workable plot so hopefully, the scriptwriters will note the viewer comments and the amount of interest generated in these two's relationship.

While watching the show, I could not help but think that the romantic storyline was a sweet excuse to highlight the achievements of the King during one of the prosperous periods of Ayutthaya kingdom - an era that brought many changes to today’s Thai society - and the tremendous respect that the Thai people have for their royal family.

The OST was great, and was effective in stirring up my emotions. There was only one main song and I included the link below for posterity. There were also a couple of instrumental pieces that set the tone well and appropriately for the scenes. If there was anything to complain about, it was how loud the background music got when it came to the suspenseful moments, and sometimes the music did not transition well. It is a common problem in many Lakorns, so I am not going to take off too many points for it.

กลางหัวใจ (เพลงประกอบละคร รักแลกภพ) - แอ๊ค The Golden Song【OFFICIAL MV】

The other thing that I did not enjoy was how the show dragged a little in the middle, with unnecessary drama involving characters that were not really the villains but could be considered the antagonists. Some of their actions and reactions did not quite make sense, and it seemed that the show would have benefited by cutting a couple of episodes out. I did not skip through the episodes, but it would not have made much of a difference if I did, especially towards the middle-end.

Finishing off on a positive note, I must say that visually, there was so much to enjoy - from the good-looking cast to the gorgeous outfits (past and present), to the settings and locations.

Overall, it is a light romantic drama that I think most will enjoy. If you like a little fantasy in your romance drama, then do give it a watch. Just let the story unravel and surprise you.

Following the Red Thread to You

When I first saw the title of this drama, I was all ready for the most beautiful love story, and I was not disappointed. We all wait for that exceptional love and to be swept up into an emotional storm of unbridled love; such is the case with this drama.

The backdrop is set in the 1600s during the Qing invasion where you have the young, bright and beautiful Yu Gil Chae (Auh Jin Lin) who has a propensity to attract every man in town, but her eyes are only set on one man--Nam Yeon Jun. She does everything to always garner his attention as well as make the other women in town not like her. They think her actions are inappropriate to say the least. But Nam Yeon Jun while knowing her feelings always makes her feel that he has a slight interest, but he finally put those feelings to rest at last when he marries Kyung Eun Ae.

Lee Jang Hyun (Namkoong Min) arrives in Neunggun-ri, and sees the attractive Yu Gil Chae for the first time as she is on a swing in the woods along with other suitors who are watching her as well. Lee Jang Hyun is instantly captivated as he watches her swing back and forth, smiling and laughing as she goes higher and higher. They both recollect this moment later: One day, I asked you my darling, "Do you recall the day you first saw me?" You answered, "Of course, I do. I heard a very rare sound that day." I asked you what sound you heard. "Do you hear it? This sound, the sound of flowers." Just at that moment the swing broke and he caught her in his arms. As he looked at her up close for the first time, he said thinkingly, "Have you ever heard the sound of spring flowers bloom? I heard that rare sound today." So, began the amazing love story of Yu Gil Chae and Lee Jang Hyun.

Each time this couple met it was always a lively banter of words between which was a growing love, more so for Lee Jang Hyun, but Yu Gil Chae for so long had her sights on Nam Yeon Jun she never allowed herself to even think another man could enter her heart. Lee Jang Hyun played many mind games and their "tug of war" where both their feelings were concerned fascinated him. He did not want her to lose interest in him, so this is how he kept and captured her to him.

But just as things began to heat up for them, war starts and so they are separated before they could even make sense of their feelings.

Many things happen once the war started. Lee Jang Hyun finds himself working for the Khan as well as the Crown Prince. He does save Yu Gil Chae, gets ill and then the worse of it all is that she believes he died. Those who would die, they would put their possession in a box. Yu Gil Chae went looking to see if there was something of that manner for Lee Jang Hyun. Well, she did find a box which contained her red ribbon most importantly--his fan that he was never without. Even though she had these items, a tiny part of her still held on that he was alive. She held onto his coat and even screamed and cried for him to come back but he didn't. Hence, she had to fend for her and the others due to Kyng Eun Ae's husband, Nam Yoon Jun being imprisoned, and they lost everything.

Picking herself up she found a way to make money and get everyone back from the brink of disaster. Enter Gu Won Moo who led her to believe that he was the one that saved her and the others when they were on the island, but we all know it was Lee Jang Hyun. She decides to marry him.

Meanwhile Lee Jang Hyun is finally able to come back to Yu Gil Chae because the Crown Prince has been allowed by the Khan to see his father. Well, Lee Jang Hyun ask Ryang Eum to tell her that he is coming. But because of the beliefs that Ryang Eum has, once he does see Yu Gil Chae not only does he tell her that he is dead, but also that he had another woman during that time. I believe that he had a love for him that exceeded friendship. He used the guise of saying he felt that she was bad for him and was going to hurt him, so he drove her away. I think he didn't want him to have anyone in his life but him. So, misunderstanding ensued.

Coming into town, Lee Jang Hyun is happy because he has all the flowered printed slippers that he promised her. As he is walking down the street, he hears a man calling out about the bride's chest and out comes Yu Gil Chae. To say he wasn't blown away and her too, because she sees him at the same time is an understatement.

They finally meet and he tries to explain things to her but again, she basically doesn't listen to him and believes he is playing games with her, and she is not hearing anything that he is saying. He does find out that Ryang Eum was the cause of him not telling her that he was alive and leading her to continue to believe he was dead. Ryang Eum said that she was already getting married so why should he have told her anything different in his mind. I believe at this point; their relationship was severed.

The final parting of Yu Gil Chae and Lee Jang Hyun was in this letter that she wrote him as he sailed down the river without her. She said, "It is true that I wavered for a moment, but I do not trust you nor love you enough to leave everything behind me. If any small affection for me remains in you, please forget everything about me."

After reading the letter he picks up her flowered printed slippers and remembers what he had told her when he left: "I will come back with the prettiest flower slippers in the world." He then just drops them in the water as they float away...so ends their story for now.

Ryang Eum who Lee Jang Hyun left is on the riverbank watching him leave without him, turning to leave, he looks up only to see Yu Gil Chae and cannot contain in his look his disgust and anger for her.

Yu Gil Chae feels tears running down her cheeks as she watches Lee Jang Hyun leave and thinks: "When I asked you if you ever hated me, you said this--the day you left me forever. I stared at you for a long time because I hated you so much. But no matter how long I stared at you, I did not feel hatred for you. So, I just hated myself. And you asked me, how cruel you are. Did you even fathom how I felt? I can tell you now. I could not even fathom, it is just that my heart shattered into a thousand pieces, and I wished that you would not feel like me. I prayed desperately so."

Two years later we find Lee Jang Hyun in Shenyang and he is once again chasing down escapees from the war.

This is where the drama ends for now. Such a beautifully crafted piece of work. Everyone in the cast gives superb performances. The lavish and breathtaking scenery is just amazing. I am thoroughly in awe of this drama. You will as well.

I did take a bit of my own spin when she had her dream, but this was the most poignant moment to me in this drama,

One day Yu Gil Chae was sewing an embroidery, as she got to the sun, she needed more red thread as she went to reach for the spool of red thread, it fell out of her hand and began to roll. As she watched it roll down the hill she began to run after it. The red spool of thread led her down a path of trees which were in full summertime bloom, through a field of lush yellow flowers, skipping on stones along a babbling brook, a grove of autumn trees with an array of vibrant colors in red and gold, a snow covered path with her feet crunching on newly fallen snow all the while feeling the breath of winter's wind on her face, and a dense forest of trees, where the red spool led her to the sandy beach and the sound of the ocean.

As she watched the blazing colors of the evening sunset against his silhouette, she saw laying at his feet the red spool of thread. Thinking she said, "Was all that I saw as I ran to you, the highs and lows of what was to be expected in our journey?" But as he stepped from the glow of the setting sun, she watched as he slowly reached down to pick up the spool. She asked him..."Who are you, Young Master?" He said, "I have been waiting for you. At this place...for a long time." As she watched his head lean down for a kiss, she thought, "I have waited for you a long time too...my dearest."

Such as the ending I would have liked to have but alas we have to wait for the red thread to continue its journey in October for the second part.

This is NOT for everyone, but if you try it do so with an open mind and a strong heart.

I am not here to say that everyone criticizing this series is wrong, but that everyone should form their opinion on this drama by watching it and not by reading reviews, either positive or negative.
Personally just today I've said 'this drama is not for everyone' to a friend of mine that asked me if she should watch it or skip it when i told her i had binged watched it. I did say that exactly because this drama is NOT entertainment, it's not easy and it will make you feel uneasy. It's frustrating, it has a desperate edge and heavy meaning with almost no hope, characters are not lovable and many moments will definitely make you cringe while watching.
So no, it's not for everyone or not for every moment, or for every kind of mood you are in. I would totally say to not watch it to someone who doesn't like heavy depressing content, i would say not to watch this to anyone looking for some relax and light content, and so on and on.
If someone who is looking for entertainment watch this and is disappointed based on the development of the plotline hence gives a low rating because of that it's not an objective or fair judgement. I don't like splatter at all, most of the time i find it gross and cheep but if i watch a story whose plot requires lots of splatter and i don't like it i don't immediately assume that's the drama's fault, but that maybe my personal dislike makes me a less objective judge on the value of the product in general and of the value and enjoyment it helds for the audience it's been specifically created for. So everyone has the right to leave any comment or review or rating, and everyone is entiteld to their own opinion on this. Personally though, when i read some reviews before deciding if i wanted to give it a try or not, I imagined this drama to be completely different and very poorly done. I almost gave it up without trying it amd i would have if Netflix did not have the autoplay for new series.
The first minute of hellbound starte automatically for me and it made me curious again so i left it running, still thinking i would be bored or find this ridiculous. Instead the more i watched the more i was disturbed by the deeper thems this drama presents. It's not the 'angels or demons' thing that's interesting, those are mere plot devices to present the truly scary monsters of this story: HUMANS. The supernatural creatures that appears from the start have no other role than being literally the deus ex machina to explain the story.
What dragged me into this drama unwillingly and by the hair, is its bleak commentary on our society and culture through a religious metaphor. I have not found enjoyable one single second of the 6 episodes, yet it made me think about aspects of human nature that i generally prefer to not dwell on too much because they are hard and unpleasant.
So if you are looking at ratings and review of Hellboud before starting the drama itself i'd say it's safe to assume that all the votes in this page are not exactly left to comment on the value of cinematography, writing, directing, and acting of this drama, but more of an expression of what this drama has meant to the viewer in terms of meaning of the plot and it's development or the social commentary that reside in the deeper level of the story. Personally i did not enjoy it, actually i quite hated it, yet i watched it all because to me every episode left behind welts of hurt and a hunger of thoughts that dramas i've loved and enjoy deeply rarely have.

For a manga adaptation, for me this is good. All the characters are undoubtedly satisfying. All the actors perfectly the same, or at least for me it's near what I imagine, especially Onodera. Ikema Natsumi played her well. The manga is painfully long, so for a movie with such length, it's pretty good with a nice touch. Not to forget it's funny and entertaining as hell. It's hard to find a good adaptation, and this one is one of them. I wish they adapt it into a drama tho, it'll better I think. But for a movie, this is very well put.
