The inner workings of the harem are shown to have politics and romances (800 men to 1 woman) between harem members. The story follows the life of a man who holds the bushido code dear, but is from a poor samurai family. His path takes him places he never dreamed possible. Ninomiya, as always, excelled with the part, you felt all the emotions with the character he portrayed. Every one did a good job and not once did I feel not immersed in the story. There is BL elements to this story and it is folded in nicely and not portrayed as comical or over the top, it just is.
I would definitely re-watch this again with the right person. I might even buy it on dvd. Overall I gave it a 9.5 because yes it was kind of rushed but on the other hand nothing was really lost in the story telling you knew the protagonists story arc, and it showed there was more story to be told about the Shogun.

Spoiler involved, sorry. This drama didn't get addictive for me till about episode 10. Throughout the first couple of episodes, I wasn't hooked until (spoiler approaching) Jae-yeol's mental illness was hinted at, that's when things got juicy. It changed the whole perspective! Some may say that you should have seen it coming but the plot twist was amazing. It's a great story because it prioritises and validates the importance of mental health which is not something you see too often in media. Therefore, I'm giving it a solid 9.0/10.

The story was kind of clear from the start but the cast made it very interesting and very very very emotional. Every character had it's own habits and weirdness but that made them even more loveable.
At first I had my trouble with the female lead Kim Go Eun because sometimes it seems as if she's trying to hard and it made me cringe but maybe that's because we meet her in different stages of her life, as a highschool senior and a college student and at her later work. So it is kind of understandable that she goes through some changes in life and in her personality and that made me really like her later on.
The relationship between the Goblin and his Bride developed with some ups and downs and even more interesting was the relationship between the Grim Reaper and Sunny - SO HEARTBREAKING! I loved the fact that the Grim Reaper probably went through the biggest and hardest change during the series as he starts off as an emotionless weirdo.
I loved the music! I even added it on my playlist and I'm listening to the intro song all the time!
I would rewatch it but this drama made me so emotional!! I think that I was crying all the time through the last 3 episodes...that's almost like 5 hours of crying.
It had kind of an ending I could be happy with but before I could be happy it had to punch me in the face and heart and everything came so suddenly...so I will wait until I have the nerves to watch it again.
Overall - I LOVED IT!

I fell for the main males characters quickly! The drama shows us that these gentlemen have flaws and arent perfect from the very beginning and I think thats what made me love them so much. They each had their own story and we get to see how they deal with romance and daily life. The female leads (the different love interests) are a different story, although I did love each of them at the end, there were moments when I didn’t like them at all! The secondary characters (mainly the family) were your typical annoying meddling family. There are two family shown and they are completely different. I liked the contrast between them and I like how we got to see the, grow closer.
The acting was great and very believable. One of my favorute parts of this drama is that at the end you’re happy with how everything ended. Usually dramas have super villanous people who will do anything to get want they want even killing but this show didn’t have that. There are what you would call villains but they werent really that bad. I only hated them for a couple of episodes and then they showed us a different side and in the end they all moved on. I love how this drama shows forgiveness and how people make mistakes and that people can change for th better.
The show is 50+ episodes but I watch all most of them. I only skipped around 4 or 5 episode because at the time I was watching I had college stuff to do and I wanted to finish the drama before. Those episode to me were not that important so I didn’t miss anthing major.
Overall it was very entertaining and kept me wanting to watch the next episode! I binged this drama for a day because of how addicting it was. I recommend this drama for anyhing who isnt into major major drama and likes to see peoples daily lives.

Story: This is the drama i keep coming back to. Having watched it around 4 years back, I can still connect with the story and its emotions every damn time. This is not your typical melodrama or a tragic love story. It is much more dark and deep for every character's perspective. Very rarely do i get to see a drama where every story angle is fully nourished bu the author. I also happened to read the manga few months back and realized they have kept the core feeling alive with this adaptations. Be a little patient as it is an old drama but watch it and you won't regret to your life.
Acting/Cast: What a bang on casting it would have been at that time when the makers roled in Vic Zou and Barbie Hsu! Fresh out of Meteore Garden fandon, they both nailed it in as Ahn Qi Lu and Chen Ling. Viz was marvelous in his character but it was Barbie that stole the show for me. Every time she is haunted by her past and her suffering as a victim is portrayed with a top notch acting. I also happened to love every other character and actor of this drama. Even Tong Dao nailed it in his performance.
Music: I am a kind of a person who doesn't really remember much about the music but OST's of this drama was great. It has such a happy yet melancholic feel to it.
Re-watch: I am writing this review right after watching the whole drama for the third time in 4 years. I just felt that everybody should know about this gem.
Overall: WATCH IT. Don't miss the chance to experience this beautiful love story. You won't regret it. I can guarantee on that :)

This drama is my favourite drama of all time, I loved it so much I made an account just to let everyone know how good this drama is. There are literally no words in the dictionary that can explain how good this drama is. Mad Dog is one of those dramas that after watching it, you wish you hadn't watched it so you could watch it over and over again without getting bored.
Story: The story of Mad Dog really gets you hooked and keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. Although, it does have a few flaws here and there, all of it is overlooked by the wonderfully written script. The story really makes you wonder what actually happened and when you DO find out the truth, you just unconsciously start applauding at the screen.
Cast: The cast is absolutely perfect! Everyone fitted their role flawlessly and they all did such an amazing job with their characters. First of all; Yoo Ji Tae as Choi Kang Woo. He really showed us what a great actor he is by displaying so many different emotions and actions. He made me cry, laugh, smile and get angry at his character throughout the entire show. Yoo Ji Tae once again gave us a fabulous performance. Next up is Woo Do Hwan as Kim Min Joon/ Jan Gebauer. I was absolutely speechless when I finished this drama, I literally fell in love. Woo Do Hwan is an extremely talented actor who portrayed his character perfectly. Like seriously, he is a hidden gem in the acting industry. After watching Mad Dog, I couldn't get over him and I can't wait for his future projects. Then there is Ryu Hwayoung as Jang Hari, Jo Jae Yoon as Park Soon Jung and Kim Hye Sung as Oh Noo Ri. These three were the best trio ever. They brought comedy and romance to the show with their quirky but fierce characters. One of the things I loved most about this drama was the slight romance between Kim Min Joon and Jang Hari. They are now one of my favourite kdrama couples. I've seen Ryu Hwayoung in a few other dramas and I loved her, I am really looking forward to more of her work. I've also seen Jo Jae Yoon in a couple of other dramas but he didn't really stand out until I watched Mad Dog. He brought a lot of the comedy to the show. However, this was the first time I saw Kim Hye Sung in a drama, he was so adorable and his character was so sweet. The rest of the cast are also extraordinary but I'd have to stop here because if I continued, I don't know when this review will be over.
P.S. The bromance between Kim Min Joon and Choi Kang Woo is so cute~
Music: The ost by NiiHWA called What I Want is one of the best songs ever. I have it on repeat and I just can't get sick of it. This ost is one of only three ost's that I have ever put in my song playlist. The song was just a perfect way to end an episode.
Rewatch Value: To be honest, I really can't rewatch anything. I usually skip over most parts when I attempt to rewatch a drama. Although, I'll definitely be rewatching this drama a couple of times.
Overall: I'll keep this short: this drama is stunning and it will definitely be your loss if you don't watch it. :)

There's more to write but I can only say that they all did a very good job. Although there were scenes where there were minor flaws (like same dresses in different scenes and episodes), they can be overlooked. Overall, it is my favorite drama of all time. :)
