I love the Taiwanese drama Bromance it's 1% for me, and I have watched this drama more than 3 times. I highly recommend this drama. The soundtrack is good and the characters too. It has beautiful scenery and the fashion for Baron Chen. I don't know how to say that this love and chemistry between Pi Ya Nuo and Du ZiI Feng is so beautiful. Is there love like this in the real world? I think I've missed out!

I'm a very harsh critic when it comes to actually reviewing dramas but I have to say this is one of my favorite ones I've seen. While the story and plot is predictable like most dramas and the whole "amnesiac" trope is played to death, this was enjoyable more for all the characters than for the story. Each main and supporting role is delightful to see interact with each other. Most importantly: the love is not abusive and the plot pain points are not based upon lies, deception, or miscommunication. I have no idea why Korea likes to normalize those types of shitty behaviors and relationships but it needs to stop.

No one is cartoonishly evil with no hope of redemption. The main girl is strong and delightful till the very end; she suffers no lack in dimension nor does she become a wet napkin over time. Louis is depicted as painfully spoiled yet never acts like he is superior or entitled; that is super refreshing to see when dealing with rich boy/poor girl love trope. The love and affection they have for each other is innocent, pure, and adorable. Most of the loose ends are tied up nicely at the end. The music added to the scenes perfectly, and often played up for comedy.

Overall, it's not some amazing and unique story BUT the characters are refreshing, hilarious, and endearing and it will be very hard to say goodbye to them at the end.

I have never been so touched, moved to tears, or smiled so big as I have watching this show.

This show is a spin-off of Love Sick: The Series but BETTER. Why better? It has a lot more well-written and thought-out scenes that will truly touch your heart. It's also not filled with as many side stories or unrequited, angst-riddled love.

Many other dramas will skip scenes, fade to black, or use some other plot device to end the opportunity for the couple to have a deep discussion about their love, their relationship, and where it's headed. NOT this series. The writers lovingly devote ample amounts of precious screen time to the couples as they openly discuss their problems as adults (even though they are high schoolers). It also doesn't take 2 seasons of awkward moments, fights, misunderstandings, and such for the couple to finally accept that they love each other. This series puts them together early on and then shows us how they deal with challenges and grow together as a couple.

I'm not an overly emotional guy but even I had to bring tissue. Many of these scenes are just so very tender, you will cry. Some of the lines uttered are so unbelievably cute and romantic it just tugs at my heart. It also helps that the actors are very handsome.

This series is not perfect though. People complain about the music, well, for the most part, it's the right song at the right time. Also, a lot of plot devices are reused. I couldn't count how many times someone tripped, fell, or was otherwise injured and it allowed a moment for the couple to bond or see the other for the first time. Some plots were a bit juvenile but I chalk that up to this being a high school drama. Product placement is contrived and each episode ends with a "Side Story" as they call it, basically a skit about some product from the advertisers. You may opt to skip these skits, but there are a couple of them that are so funny I would recommend not skipping them. Lastly, I'd recommend watching Love Sick: The Series as characters from Make It Right live in the world that Love Sick built.

TL;DR: Real relationships, real problems, real solutions that the guys work through showcasing the love and deep affection they have for each other and their commitment to their future together. You will grow to love these characters. I beg of you, let's all please support this show so we can have many more seasons!!!

for someone (like me) who did part time while attending college, this gave me all the feels. the series is so close to reality #struggleisreal

my only issue with this series is too MANY characters. and each character has its own thing going own so sometimes its hard too keep up with their lives lol. when you are already invested/attached to a certain character then another episode will be spent for another story line, which is sometime frustrating since you cant follow the characters that you just wanted to see.

for the acting, i haven't seen a lot of thai dramas like this but to compare this to lovesick and make it right, the actors here are way way better.

Initially it was pretty enjoyable, however it could have told the story with 16 episodes. The main arch completed around then so as a result the remaining episodes meandered slowly through predictable one dimensional plot devices of "Will They? Won't They?" even though we all already know the answer so you gotta eyeroll your way through repetitive and cringey affirmations of love and loss to the end. Plus the director just rehashed everything that we already saw in You Who Came From the Stars so it didn't feel as fresh.

Great acting by all the main and supporting actors, though, and I do love the juxtaposition with the Joseon period to now. The cinematography during the old scenes were visually stunning and added an extra layer of interest. I think the director learned a lot from YWCFtS and you can tell he stepped up his game for these scenes. The first half is worth a watch just for these scenes.

It drags on way way way too long though.

This one is good but not great. On the one hand, it's brilliantly acted (mostly), well-filmed and well-directed. It has aspects of the plot that I was interested in, like young people entering a work environment that's trying to spit them out, fighting to stay level-headed and do their work, blatant sexism in the workplace and the exploitation of workers for the profit of companies that never recognize their individual value and only lets them advance when it's convenient for the enrichment of the higher places.

On the other hand, the plot drags a bit too much, there's way too much exposition, there isn't much of a focus at times and, worst of all, I have the sense that the message of it is for the young generation to just shut up and take it. An "it will happen to you too, you'll see" perspective. Some things get fixed, some things change, but you end up with the feeling that, in the grand scale of things, they really don't. While dramas like Underwear showcase how young people with drive, who reject or disagree with the status quo, can actually both learn from their seniors AND innovate and create something different that adapts with the current times, here I feel the point was for young people to learn to do things the same way and repeat the same mistakes. With very few exceptions.

The plot is basically salarymen, the trade business in Japan and everything that comes with it. We see the introduction to this world through a former shogi player turned into reluctant salaryman, Ichinose Ayumu (very well portrayed by Nakajima Yuto, and honestly I was surprised, he did very well here, he won an award for this). Alongside him, we meet other young interns trying to survive this world: the son of a leader of another company who wants to work his way up rather than use his dad's power to climb (very well performed by Seto Koji), a girl running from sexism in another company and encountering sexism again here because the world sucks (Yamamoto Mizuki) and a cheerful comic-relief-y guy who wants to be respected for his work (Kiriyama Akito).

Taking into account that there's a lot of male idols in this (I counted at least 5, between DBOYS, Johnny's and Amuse) and they did a pretty good job here in general (this was a really good one for Nakajima Yuto to settle the transition from school roles to older roles), I'm even more surprised that the category for idol actor in the 2016 poll was won by a non idol with a terrible role.

I wasn't very fond of Yamamoto Mizuki's performance specifically, but I was very interested in her arc and how it connected to Nakamura Yuri's arc, they really made a point about sexism in the workplace and how hard it is for women to work their way up the corporate ladder while appeasing Japanese social standards, I was indeed very interested in that aspect of the drama, I'm just sad it wasn't more prominent.

I don't even have to say Endo Kenichi carries this drama, I think that's self-explanatory by the fact that he's in it. Yamauchi Takaya does very well alongside him and the chemistry between them and Yuto is very good.

So, overall, it's fine. It could have been better, but it's good.

I read some bad comments on this one after it won the family category in the 2016 poll (to be fair, I get that it's not really what we consider a "family" drama) but I thought that, after all the problematic love triangles we got in 2016 (A Girl & Three Sweethearts, Happy Marriage, Good Morning Call, etc. for all eternity), this was the most harmless and heart-warming take on romance triangles. Seriously, this is so pure and adorable that Sakura Shimeji does the theme song. But let's talk about it.

The plot of this drama is centered on a girl, Yoshioka Yuiko (very well portrayed by Nagano Mei) who falls for a classmate, Matsubara, after hearing his voice (to be fair, they chose Sakurai Takahiro to voice him, which is pretty brilliant, if you ask me, and seiyuus are really taking over idols lately in the j-music world, so this could be the beginning of something here, but I digress). When she meets him, we find out Matsubara hides his face behind a paper bag, something rooting in reasons we'll find out as the drama goes on. Yuiko accepts Matsubara since the very beginning and doesn't ask questions, focusing on who he is as a person and that relationship will help him open up about his past and his feelings.

There are, of course, love triangles galore. There's a couple girls who like Matsubara at different points of the drama, but I found them rather bland, especially in comparison to another character who is in love with Yuiko: Hyodo Makoto (brilliantly played by Ryusei Ryo). There are other smaller stories involving Yuiko's and Matsubara's best friends, as well as Makoto's friends (including a really good performance by Sakurada Dori).

This drama surprised me, in a good way. I was expecting that, for the whole cutesy aesthetic and the school romance, it was going to be just that, but it's so much more. There's social anxiety, growing issues, self-doubt, strong friendships and, since the whole harmless vibe it has leaves out any possibility of mindless bullying (everyone just accepts Matsubara without really asking much), it's allowed to focus on their inner troubles rather than cliche problems. Matsubara's biggest obstacle is always himself, as is Yuiko's, and that's very refreshing in this kind of story. Maybe a bit naive, but it's a different take on something we may have seen before, albeit in a different form.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it the Nobuta Wo Produce of its time, but it's definitely a breath of fresh air of actually meaningful relationships and healthy roads towards self-improvement in a year marked with toxic love triangles.

I enjoyed this movie. Like other reviewers, It was a little slow at first as you catch up to all the characters and learn what they do and who they are etc. Once it gets going, It gets good. The main lead was cute, a refreshing character against the norm because she is not typically beautiful or perfect, but great in her own way. The male lead is very charming, you can see him as he warms up to her and it's very sweet. Happy ending, if you love romance and interesting plots this is a good choice. Although the romance aspect isn't as prominent as other films, it's still satisfying.

I really enjoyed this movie. Daniel Henney is a great actor, and his chemistry with the lead actress was adorable. I haven't seen a ton of Korean movies, so I'm not an authority on the subject, But If you enjoy RomComs with endearing (ok, embarrassing) moments, you really enjoy this movie. Also, The aspect of Daniel speaking English throughout the film was a really interesting part and made me feel more into the movie (as a native English speaker).

Where to start? After finishing the show, I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Also, I'm a non-book reader.

Story/Plot: The flow of the story, in the beginning, was boring. But it was a necessary foundation to create character backgrounds. So don't give up on it. After maybe 6 episodes, everything started to kick in and heaps of anticipations followed. It didn't revolve around one main pairing but rather a lot of other love lines within the drama. Which was very nice and you obviously get the happy endings and the not-so-happy endings.
It's a fantasy drama. Beautiful CG, I lose track of the subtitles after staring at the beautiful scenes (Same director as love O2O btw). Magically. Lots of hand flicking. And clothes disappearing :winks:

Acting/Cast: So the description did say the love is throughout 3 lives so they had to act out different personalities. Yang Mi in my opinion, did extremely well portraying an innocent little fella, a pure-hearted mortal girl and a fierce, well-respected Goddess. Though some of her intimate scenes were awkward and forceful. Mark also portrayed different roles but their personalities were pretty similar so I couldn't see his different sides. But he's a hell of a good kisser ;) :winks:

Music: Songs were specifically written for the drama so you get the chance, read the translation. It's so relevant to the story and literally every time you listen, parts of the drama follow and you'll crave to rewatch the whole thing all over again.

Rewatch?: Heck yeah. But probably going to skip irrelevant stuff.

Overall: Mainland dramas are sometimes very annoying because they include a lot of unnecessary talking and fighting scenes. I skipped a lot but it didn't seem to affect my overall experience with the drama. I'm also annoyed at how they keep using the same female voice actor for most of their dramas. It somewhat hindered me from feeling the acting and emotions from the actors/actresses.

Loaded with absurdities and confusions, this film makes us wonder how much we really know about someone we believe is our friend. Random encounters immerse our protagonist in a sad and fascinating story. Quoting a character: "you have been dragged into a story that is not yours", and that intrusion is what makes the movie so captivating.

Story:
Full of Bob Dylan music and a deep love for animals, the story shows innocent and noble characters like Shiina and mysterious and extravagant ones like Kawasaki. While dealing with friendship, values, disease, and revenge.

Acting:
Gaku Hamada perfectly portrays that person who only tries to fit in, he is the impressionable provincial. Eita, on the other hand, represents very well the long range of expressions that his character demands.

Overall:
How valuable are the bonds we create? Who is lying? Who says the truth?
Coupled with a sharp criticism of racism by many Japanese towards foreigners living in Japan, this is a valuable and worthy film. Because ultimately, Shiina also feels like a stranger, even though in his own country.

Sorry if my review sucks, I've never written one before T^T.

This was the first ever Taiwanese web series I've seen and let me just say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot was a pretty basic one for the boys love genre, which was step brothers falling in love. Although the plot was quite basic, it sure as hell did entertain me. It just added so many cute elements that I had to keep watching and I'd scream every time a new episode was translated. The actors weren't bad at all for a web series. Their acting was very natural unlike some bl dramas where the acting would start off super awkward. The music was nice in my opinion and they did a great job with it fitting the mood of a certain scene. I would definitely watch this series again, especially as a pick me upper. My only complaint is that it was super short and I wish that they made these episodes a bit longer. Overall, this series made it on my favorites list and if you're a die hard fujoshi like me, I really recommend it.

P.S. I heard that the officials of the web series are going to try their best to have a second season for the series because they got so many requests from the fans. *crosses fingers*

Who would’ve thought that the most exciting parts of a drama would be watching a couple of pen pushers carrying around stacks of paper? But, it’s Korean drama. They make you care about what the characters care about.
Office dynamics. I liked seeing how they were like a rag tag family. How circumstances or problems drew them together. They would fight between themselves but if an outsider tries to take them down, everyone teams up.
I also liked seeing how with just a look, the other team members conveyed their concern for their colleague. Rival yes, but colleague when push came to shove.
Actually, the drama makes a bit of a theme of that. Of how in the relationships people might really not get along but they actually do respect each other and want to work together.

Geu Rae
This guy is a bit sad and small. He gets on fire when he's got a task he has to do. His only talent is playing Go. That talent springs up in some unexpected places. Not just the problem solving aspect but also that competitive streak.

“Over the years, my focus on winning has grown even if I'm a loser now. I'm a pro at it.”

He's a bit slow, sure, but when people hurt him relationally, he doesn't really let it go.
It was also good to see him being so happy when someone stood up for him. Slowly slowly his boss starts to ease up on him.
It was so satisfying when he impressed.
I liked him even warming up to his boss' gruffness and understanding his sincerity.
As the drama goes on, he starts making more facial expressions, which is also really great. It's always funny how dramas do that. It makes you appreciate the character even more and enjoy the show as you get more personality.

Mr. Oh
He's a tough character but you can see that he really is a justice man. He doesn't like it when things are unfair.

“I get more suspicious when he's so chirpy.”

Young Yi
Young Yi is good at her job. I was glad to see her with less airs as an intern and someone who doesn't mind wearing her heart on her sleeve a bit more.
She gets treated badly due to her gender.
I really liked seeing her bravery and how she could be so strong especially when her past came back to haunt her.
Her team sucks but it was cool when they banded together against a common foe.

Baek Ki
Baek Ki's struggle with his boss seemed like the unfair tension that often happens in romantic relationships in Kdramas. It's strange to see it happening between two males.
His boss, Mr. Kang is so chill and calm. Mr. Kang is also the dude from KMHM and I loved him.

Dong Sik
I liked how he had a chat with Geu Rae and just was like saying how impressed he was with him and how he actually wanted to get to know him as a friend.

“He's part of Sales Team 3 now. We should accept our members no matter what.”

Everyone's got different problems. Too little work, too much work. It was interesting to see when the team leaders got together and the dynamic they have there is completely different to how they are among their own team. Actually, it’s really cute when the main characters get together to do a project too.

It was so great seeing Geu Rae pulling his weight and being part of the team where the other newbies still struggled. His team trusted him.
I liked the portrayal of the women. Strong, smart, influential and respected. Fair and fierce.
The drama looks at the different teams in the company. Planning team, resource team, finance team, sales team and how they are their own island and personality.
