I made a vow to write a review immediately after the show ended and believe me when I say the emotions are still raw. Where do I even start? Eternal Love is such a compelling and beautiful piece I don't think I can find the exact words to describe it.

The story is brilliant in itself and I am honestly sure it did the book justice. I think if you're watching this read more without reading the book beforehand, you would love the show a lot more because you're watching without expectations plus either way, Eternal Love will blow you away (even if you're not a fantasy/xianxia/historical genre kind of person) Also, If you like The Journey of Flower, you will love this without a doubt.

Everything, every single thing is so stunning from the costumes, to the set and the cinematography. And the most beautiful part is, of course, their love story. The different clans coming together and all the magical elements and all are very interesting. I won't delve into the story too much because its pretty complicated but fear not, you will never be bored of it for a second.

The acting was spectacular. Yang Mi did a fantastic job as always. Although it was my first time watching Mark Chao, his character as either Mo Yuan or Ye Hua is so easily to fall in love with because he is that good at acting. Chemistry was flawless. A transparent love was beautifully portrayed; you could feel their love and pain and share their happiness. Kiss scenes are very good too. They're not exactly rough but tender and deep? I honestly did not expect so many kiss scenes because I was quite disappointed with the lack of intimacy in The Journey of Flower but you're blessed here :')

Every other character was very likeable having their own unique personalities. The other side characters and love stories are also super sweet especially Dong Hua's and Feng Jui's.

It seems like everything about the drama is perfect even its music is so apt. The entire OST is so enchanting played at right timings. The duet is so haunting which really gives Bai Qian & Ye Hua moments that goosebumps. So, so good.

The only problem I have (not with the drama) is that I hate misunderstandings that cause conflicts in a relationship which my heart cannot handle. Ye Hua and Bai Qian's relationship has many 'tragedies' that can really break your heart because they've been through so many tribulations caused by some side bitches but in the end, everything for this drama is worth it.

Rewatch it? Definitely. No qualms about it.

This is truly a masterpiece and I can safely say Eternal Love is my favourite C-Drama.

Probably the first time a drama of this length has me thoroughly enthusiastic from beginning to end. More rare is the case of a drama adaptation not only breathing life to its book, but surpasses the original work in every aspect. The challenge is to stop oneself from the binge to see how this karmic game of fate, love, misunderstanding and tragedy takes three 'lifetimes' to resolve. Even if fantasy is not read more one's cup of tea, the love/romance here is one everyone can enjoy

*Story (10/10)
This drama has done a wondrous job keeping faithful to the original story while incorporating parts of its spinoff "The Pillow Book" about the secondary lead pairing. The Chinese title of this drama is "Three Lives Three Worlds: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" and like its name suggests, tells the story of Ye Hua and Bai Qian - gods who are separated yet bounded by fate to find each other in their lives again throughout the course of three arcs, for a memorable journey of emotional highs and lows balanced with good action and drama. Though there are 58 episodes, it is filled with plots to leave one consistently guessing what the next development is from beginning to end.
Just as one score settles, another rises.

Characters are fleshed out and although the main couple gets the bulk of the focus, secondary characters and their relationships are not cheated out of a good storyline either.

*Acting/Cast: (9/10)
Yang Mi's Bai Qian may be the protagonist, but Mark Chao is the highlight. To express so much with so little is what Mark does wonderfully, and his ability to portray two similar characters (Ye Hua & Mo Yuan) so differently with their set of own characteristics, mannerisms and reactions is impressive. As for Yang Mi overall she did well portraying the different personalities of her characters - from playful, mischievous Si Yin to naive and innocent Su Su and finally the aloof with an attitude Bai Qian - by far her best performance. Together these two produce the chemistry to keep audiences thrilled and satisfied. Overall the cast is well put together with several other memorable faces (Zhang Bin Bin, Dilraba etc) making the drama that much more enjoyable

*Last thoughts?
- All the sets, props, scenery and people are simply eye-catching, which keeps one visually interested all the way through.
- Aside from the visual fest and story, Mark Chao is another reason to rewatch

It's been a while since I enjoyed a romance-fantasy genre this much, this will be going straight into my archive of favorites. No doubt one of the best Chinese dramas have to offer

Boss & Me got me started on my love for Mainland dramas which lead to finding Xianxa through Zao Zanilia's Journey of Flower through to Eternal Love.

Both dramas feature male leads who are powerful and cold to start of with but when they fell for the female lead they never deviated. Ye Hua and Feng Teng were the definition of 'Laser-focused'... there wasn't even a hint of a chance for the female love rivals (not that I felt at all sorry for either)

They both acknowledge the romance and couple up very early on, none of this dragging out will they-won't-they business and work through their problems with varying degrees of maturity and success. Both happy endings too. You will fall for both dramas OTPs like a ten-ton brick.

Fabulous chemistry and solid acting. Yang Mi and Zhao Zanilia are both adorable and beautiful and most importantly THEY CAN ACT. Mark Chao is also specially amazing.

Those put off by CGI don't be, its inconsequential and the plot and characters will be what you care about. I've got to say though EL had better cast of characters (It seems like there are hundreds but I loved all of them) than Boss & Me. I watched both dramas twice each now and will probably watch EL again in the near future.

Both star Yang Mi as the lead female and she is as good as expected.

Both have enduring love as a main theme. There's even a separation of our OTPs with both EL and YAMS. Also a forced/contrived cohabitation after finding each other again.

In both you can feel our OTPs almost unbearable pull towards each other. Male leads in both have amazing chemistry with Yang Mi's characters and both can be forceful and imposing(kissing scenes in both the drama and the movie was scorching) but show their gentle sides too. Huang Xiaoming and Mark Chao both have the most amazing jawlines though Mark is undoubtedly the better actor.

EL had the best soundtrack I've heard in a while but there is also YAMS' OST: Silent by Na Ying that stood out. If you're still hung up over EL give YAMS a try if you have 2 hours to spare.

Are you sure this drama has a good ending? Cause I'm 57 episodes in and it doesn't convince me.

It went down so fast too... I wonder if some people intentionally did it... due to jealousy?

oh dear, I think it's from jealousy too, the more it got popular, the more it got anti fan. I just don't understand those people.

Ended up skim watching all of it, and well, while it was entertaining, I found it hard to take anything seriously. Out of all the men, I ended up liking Mo Yuan the best for some reason. 6/10

LOL, my favourite characters are dong hua and feng jiu anyways. Dong hua has a very attractive personality which I so much adore. I read the book that tells his story with feng jiu called pillow book and I love it so much. But unfortunately, many people think their story dragged, but I personally like it even more than the main one,

I felt the same way before i even watch the drama for how many times. I was able to somehow get over it by watching other kdramas or c dramas but eternal love will always have a place in my heart

I did that and it makes me cry more T_T I suppose time heals all wounds, or I'll just go back to watching it again from the beginning.
BTS vids just make me miss them more...
I'm actuallt watching Healer (another great drama) but I feel I'm not doing Healer justice as I'm still stuck on Eternal Love. I should love it more but I keep starting and stopping and watching vids of EL...

Does any one recall an Asian drama about a poor girl who is secret daughter of rich family. She is mistreated by another girl who is from that rich family. The girls do not know they are sisters. The poor girl is the secret daughter of a wealthy family and lives a poor life working in a mall/office. Her sister sabotages her work at the mall and in an office. The poor girl may work designing things. Also, there may be a guy who both girls fall in love with.

I remember they work together at an office, but the girl is mistreated since she is poor. For example, others go to lunch and leave her at the office working by herself. She has friends at the mall and they prepare a set up for an opening, but it is sabotaged over night. The poor girl friends help her set up the mall opening, etc. only to be sabotaged. The poor girl's friends help her get through life's turmoils. The friends feel betrayed once she moves to live in with the rich family. I am not discarding that the characters could be of High School age. Her sister regrets mistreating her sister unknowingly towards the end. Also, one of them may have been adopted or they may have been switched at birth.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I just copied this from a site and i am also curious as to what asian drama it is. Can somebody help me?? Thanks
