Hey guys! I know this is a pretty basic topic but I'll still try to write it in the most different way possible. So, please bear with me. As the title already suggests, I am gonna talk about some dramas that were really funny for me. So let's start. :)

Warning: This may contain some spoilers.

All of you who are reading this article and me who is writing this article right now have definitely heard of this quote at least once in our life. This is a quote that was said by Henri de Mondeville during the 1300s.
Laughter is basically what enlightens our mood but more than that, laughter for me is something that helps me forget about all the unwanted events that happened to me. Thus, laughing is the most important aspect I look for in every drama.

Now without any further ado; let's start this.

Whenever I think about dramas that have a good comedy which is highly appreciated and isn't cheap; only one person comes to my mind (who writes the best drama in this field.) And he is none other than:

Let's talk about the top three famous dramas written by him:

1. The Fiery Priest

Kim Hae Il is a Catholic priest. He makes spiteful remarks and he can be rude to others. Koo Dae Young is a detective. He talks a lot and he is also timid. Park Kyung Sun is a prosecutor. She is smart and beautiful. She is also ambitious as a prosecutor and good at her job. The three of them team up and work together to solve a murder case involving a senior Catholic priest.

Cast:

The synopsis may portray the crime, investigation or the murderous side of this drama. But, I loved this drama because of its perfect balance between the action and comedy. It might be boring to watch at the start but believe me, you should definitely give it a chance. If not, you may miss out on one of the rarest gems. Each and every character was portrayed nicely. The acting was on point. The plot line gradually starts to turn out to be better.

This drama is the best if you are looking for a crime drama that has some good comedy as well.

The three nutjobs from this drama:

Kim Hae Il
a.k.a The Fiery Priest
Park Kyung Sun
a.k.a the highly STRESSED woman
Goo Dae Young
a.k.a The cop who is best at doing NOTHING!

2. Chief Kim

Can corporate politics turn a bad person into a good person? Kim Sung Ryong is a skilled accountant who works for gangsters. He makes his way into a company called TQ Group as a middle manager in the accounting department with the intention of embezzling money from the company. As he contends with hot-shot accountant Yoon Ha Kyung, financial prodigy Seo Yul, and peppy intern Hong Ga Eun, Sung Ryong finds himself embroiled in office politics and notices other shenanigans by those in power that threaten to bring down the company. Sung Ryong slowly comes to realize that he’d rather fight against corporate corruption and fight for employees’ rights than complete the mission he originally came to do. Can he succeed at his new objective against all odds?

Cast:

This may sound like a very politics-centered plot but Sung Ryung’s eccentric character is what makes this drama really enjoyable, along with the supporting cast. And of course when it comes to this drama, one thing we cannot forget about is the bromance that everyone needs - but don't expect it in the earlier episodes as it will come much later. This drama was indeed good but lacked some sense of connectivity for me as I wasn't able to connect much. But as I said, Sung Ryung's character kept me going and I never realized when I finished this.

Kudos to Namgoong Min for playing the character really well. The acting was on point and even though there was lack of connectivity, the funny scenes never failed me. I always enjoyed each and every funny scene. Overall, this is a fresh drama which you can certainly not binge-watch as it requires some time to connect with it.

The only crackhead in this drama:

Kim Sung Ryung - Chief Kim
a.k.a the crazy guy

3. Vincenzo

At the age of eight, Park Joo Hyeong went to Italy after being adopted. Now an adult, he is known as Vincenzo Cassano to the Mafia, who employ him as a consigliere. Because mafia factions are at war with each other, he flees to South Korea, where he gets involved with Lawyer Hong Cha Young. She is the type of attorney who will do anything to win a case.

Episodes: 20 episodes of 1hr 25min each
Viewers' Rating: 8.8/10 (may change because it's currently airing)

I don't give ratings to currently airing dramas.
Cast:

This story includes action as it already says that Vincenzo is a mafia; but we cannot ignore the comedy this drama has to keep its viewers entertained. Each and every character of this drama has his/her own charm and aura. Even though I dropped this drama after two episodes, I gave it another chance and believe me, it is one my favorites amongst the airing ones. It isn’t too late to start it now. As we all know that this is currently airing right now; so I don't know what fate it holds for us.

The characters:

Vincenzo
a.k.a The Maphia (the way Hong Cha Young pronounces it)
Hong Cha Young
a.k.a The Savage One
(pretty pretty pretty pretty savage)
Jang Jun Woo
a.k.a The WILD Rabbit

These were the three best dramas by Park Jae Bum that had good comedy aspects. Now, let's talk about two other dramas that top this list for me.

1. Goblin

Kim Shin was once an unbeatable general in Goryeo's military who died a tragic death. He now possesses immortality but is tired of living while everyone else around him dies. For 900 years, Kim Shin has searched for his bride, a mortal who can pull out the sword and end his life. One day, he encounters Ji Eun Tak, a positive, upbeat high school student who can see the dead and has gone through tragic events, yet still stays strong. She claims to be the Goblin's bride who can end his immortal life, but what appears to be an easy task only gets complicated as the two fall in love.

Cast:

I am not a big fan of fantasy dramas and I rarely watch them. But I watched this because of all the hype. Almost all of us know about this famous drama. What I expected was that there would only be romance, some fantasy side of the drama, and that's basically it, because this was one of my firsts and at that time I had the thought that fantasy dramas always have high ratings. But of course I was completely wrong.

The comedy scenes that were shown in the drama were not at all cheap which would feel like "Yeah, this is cliché". No, it didn't feel cliché for me at all. For me, the comedy was not FORCED and was only there in the correct situations; some dramas tend to force comedy into situations where it is not at all needed.

The comedy's definitely there, but why was this drama the best for most of us?

Because of their chemistry:

I can easily forget about the romance in this drama and all but never the Bromance it had. Literally, the bromance was more famous than the romance. I didn't know these two actors at all but now I can never erase their names from my mind.

Another thing I can never forget about this drama was the secondary couple. It may sound offensive to some of you but for me, they outshined the first couple.

Now, let's meet all the characters:

Goblin
a.k.a. The Ajusshi
Grim Reaper
a.k.a. The Senior Kim Woo Bin
Ji Eun Tak
a.k.a. The Sweet but Smart
&
the dating advisor for the Grim Reaper who herself hasn't dated.
Sunny
a.k.a. The Sunny not Sun-Hee
&
The Café Owner
Yoo Deok Hwa
a.k.a. The least screen time who still stole the show
&
the character who uses his so- called "Samchun"

2. Touch Your Heart

Oh Yoon Seo is a popular actress. She is famous for her beautiful appearance, but her acting is bad. She gets involved in a scandal with the son from a chaebol family. Her acting career declines precipitously. Oh Yoon Seo hears that a famous screenwriter wants her to play the lead female role for a drama series. The character works as a secretary for a lawyer. To gain experience for the role, Oh Yoon Seo is required to work as a lawyer's secretary for a few months. Meanwhile, Kwon Jung Rok is an attorney for a law firm. He is arrogant and cold-hearted. One day, his boss asks Kwon Jung Rok to let actress Oh Yoon Seo work as his secretary for 3 months. He is not happy about the situation, but he has to accept.

The law aspect of this drama was not the best for me personally as I have watched a lot of law dramas. But the comedy was on point and extremely funny for me. Overall, it was a good fluff that lightened my mood after watching lots of crime and action dramas. This was able to soothe my mind because the chemistry between the actors was really good as they had already acted in a drama together. The supporting characters of this drama were no joke as the relationship between each and every character was what really worked for me.

Now, my favorite characters:

Oh Yeon Seo
a.k.a. Oh Jin Sim
a.k.a. The actress who doesn't even know the 'A' of Acting
Kwon Jung Rok
A.k.a. The Robot
The Hedgehog
Yun Joon Gyu
a.k.a. The only boss in the world who let's his employees boss him around.
The one who loves himself and turned out to be our secret SML XD
Choi Yoon Hyuk
a.k.a. Mama's Boi

a.k.a. Ukulele guy

Dan Moon Hee
a.k.a. The one with a Guinness world record for falling for a different guy every second. Till now, no one has been able to beat her.

Okay guys, I am done! Wait!! Am I forgetting something? What is it? Oh, we certainly can never forget this drama. The KING of all Kings. The drama which made everyone laugh till death. The one and only:

Waikiki

And here they come!

The best parody of the slo-mo scene from Goblin. :P

Three very different young men – Dong Goo, the bad luck incarnate who dreams of becoming a film director, Joon Ki, an eccentric actor who performs to make a living, and Doo Shik, a freelancer writer who fiddles around doing nothing most of the time - open a guest house named “Waikiki” in Itaewon where many foreigners come to stay.  Although they have no clue how to run it, they’re eager to earn money to pay for the production of their upcoming film. Joined by Dong Goo’s younger sister Seo Jin, who actually manages the household in Waikiki; single mother Yoon Ah, who has made an unexpected landing in the guest house with her mysterious baby; and Dong Goo’s ex-girlfriend Soo Ah, they all start living together in an uncomfortable and suspicious atmosphere.

I don't have words to express how much I liked this drama so I'll just search all the wonderful words on google and say them:

This drama is:

  • Wonderful
  • Marvelous
  • Magnificent
  • Superb
  • Glorious
  • First-class
  • Amazing
  • Delightful
  • Fantastic

You will forget all the dramas you watched but once you watch this one, you won't be able to forget any scene - but sometimes, that's bad when you want to re-watch it and you know the fun, you know what I am talking about. So, anyways, the best part of this drama are obviously the characters. This is the first drama I have seen that turned a romantic kiss scene into a comedy scene. Who would even expect that?! This drama is full of non-cliché, non-cringe plot. Once you start this drama, there's no looking back!

Now the characters:

The funniest character of this drama - Joon Ki. Now about him:

  • An actor who hasn't acted yet.
  • One who makes decisions without thinking.
  • Owner of the most expensive car in the world "Rebecca"

His character is the best in the whole drama from my perspective.

Kang Dong Goo:

  • Struggling director who makes videos of babies.
  • Oppa of Kang Seo Jin
  • Very protective of his sister
  • Owner of the Waikiki Guesthouse
Bong Doo Shik:

  • A writer who writes stories on his blog
  • To gain viewership on his blogs has made multiple accounts
  • Loves Cherry
  • Is Dong Goo's stuffed rabbit who always gets scolded by him.
Han Yoon Ah:

  • The single parent
  • Loves baking
  • Hidden talent: Rapping
  • Wants to participate in Show Me The Money
Kang Seo Jin:

  • A journalist
  • Kang Dong Goo's Sister
  • Chewbacca
  • Wolfman of Huam Dong
  • Loves Muharmusi Fashion
Min Soo Ah:

  • Owner of Soorgio Arhmany
  • Dong Goo's Ex
  • Is clever
  • Basically the fart queen who killed Rebecca

Special Appearances:

The very cute baby whose name is Sol.

  • Special talent: Can read everyone's mind
  • If lost, just bring her in 1 meter distance of Soo Ah and she'll start to cry
Rebecca:

  • Joon Ki's Love
  • Is only called a car but doesn't work as a car at all
  • Loves to scare people
  • And loves to help people to indirectly slap strangers
  • Loves to lock people in
  • And many more...
No guys, don't focus on Kim Jung Hyun. Focus on his camera. Yes guys, the camera's name is Elizabeth.

  • Dong Goo's love
  • Enemy: Joon Ki
  • Loves: Clicking good videos/photos and haunting Joon Ki in his dreams.

That's it. I guess this is the end!

Hope you all liked my article. You can even share your thoughts whether you considered the dramas I presented to you good in their comedy aspect.
