This movie was awesome.I loved the acting b/c it showed how fighing is more about psychology than skill or technique. It also shows that u don't have to fight to be considered strong. Watch this movie you won't be disappointed.

This movie shows how someone traits and behaviors impact his life and define him.

sometimes we think: if I had the money, if I had the chance then I'll definitely and more certainly going to do great things and be an astonishing person. But that not always the case. a person who lack the simple sense of managing his own life is not necessarily a person who will succeed even if life were giving to him on a plate, unless he decided to take action and change. That's the main moral you will learn from that movie among other ones too portrayed in a comedic and fun way.

a bad point of this movie in my opinion is the lack of music, like if they were randomly picked from someone personal track favorites, not putting in count the giving situations.

it's not the most well structured story, but it will keep you entertained to some extent with some really humorous scenes.

I didn't watch the movie this was adapted from so I won't be judging this as an adaptation but as an original piece on its own.

STORY. The story was beautiful, but really hard to put up with to be honest. Like it just hurt too much, I hate sad gays I only want happy gays! But apart from that it was well written, the pace and structure was great and I don't have much criticism except for the fact that yes, the teacher/student relationship is a bit icky. Frankly though I expected it to be much worse and I actually found quite respectful, though they could've written Liu as an 18 years old and it wouldn't have changed anything. But thankfully there was no kiss or more inappropriate scenes and even though they act like a couple in the last few scenes of the movie, I didn't find it too disturbing. Would've way preferred if she was 18 but I'll let it slide.

ACTING. The acting was so damn good! I came for Ohm, as I think a lot of people did too, and he did not disappoint one bit. It's beautiful to see how much he has grown as an actor since the Make It Right days, He already demonstrated his growth in He's Coming To Me but I feel like this movie pushed him even further, and he was just so good as Dew. Anyways I love Ohm we stan him he's so cute! But the rest of the cast did an amazing job as well, there was no bad performance and I really could empathize with almost all the characters. The acting was just perfect in my opinion so I've got nothing more to say.

THE MUSIC. It was good, not ground-breaking or anything but I obviously like the older thai songs that helped anchor the first part of the movie set in the 90s. And I especially loved the last song of the show on which the movie ends, it was really full of emotion and made me cry so it did a really good job.

REWATCH VALUE. I'd say it's not a movie I'd watch every month because it's just quite sad but I can already tell I will rewatch this movie at one point or another. It's so densely packed with feelings that I feel as though it's the kind of movies you need to rewatch multiple times to fully be able to enjoy.

OVERALL. The director did an incredible job for this, every frame of this movie is absolutely gorgeous and I really feel like no scene is wasted at all. Every scene furthers the plot beautifully without being too undeveloped or, on the contrary, made to feel too important. While the movie lasts almost 2 hours, it honestly felt like only one and that's pretty rare for me to say that. I greatly enjoyed this movie, I honestly already want to rewatch it even though it will hurt me too much but I'd recommend it to anyone who can handle sad gays! A really good surprise :)

After hearing many positive comments about this film and being recommended to watch it so many times by friends, 'Confessions' definitely lived-up to its reputation.

It made me hide behind my cushion, bite my nails, shout at the television excitedly and nervously; it was very thrilling throughout the movie!

There was some violence, some blood and gore, and some heart-break and tears, all wound up in a very mind-twisting and emotional story. You need to pay attention to the small details because if you don't, you won't understand the movie as much. Even now, I need to re-watch it again because I feel there are some parts I need to understand a bit more but I can't bring myself to, because it has generally scared me to the core xD

You know when there are some movies that need to be seen in a cinema? Well, this doesn't. You can watch it at home at medium-volume (or how loud you like it) and you will still feel the hairs raise up on the back of your neck, the chilling whispers and screams..

So watch it, you won't regret it :)

Storyline: It is a very fun ADULT movie. It had the right amount of comedy and sex, while still dealing with the deeper issues at hand. It felt very refreshing as many Korean movies have sex, but sex toys are harder to come by in kmovie land. I loved how the director and screen writer created so many scenes that were a combination of sexual, awkward, and funny. The main female lead played by Jo Yeo Jung was stereotypical, but the story-line was so different from the norm that it did not matter. Now beginning was a little slow, and there were some typical kdrama/ movie scenes. However, the overall movie experience was good. While the movie was endearing and funny, it is not one that I will likely watch again. It is different and cute, but not enough to the point of me remembering it for a long time or to put it as one of my favorite movies.

Acting: I had no issue with the acting. It was not amazing, but it wasn't bad either. However, I am not one to be picky about acting.

Music: It did not stick out to me at all, as good or bad.

Note: I know I’m being vague, but I do not want to give away any of the plot, and you can watch this movie on Hulu!

Kaneshiro Takeshi+action=must see for me! Okay, I realize I'm just a BIG fan girl when it comes to this handsome man. No, this is not only E.T like but add in a little The Matrix and this is definitely this movie. I'd only seen the lead female, Suzuki Anne in Sacred Monsters but as Milly, she was good. But hats off to Takeshi doing action! Now I'll have to comb through his movies for more. He was so bad-ass!! If you are not a Sci-Fi buff, this is not for you!! Because the action was great!!

Not a rom-com just a bad story sold as romance

Honestly me giving this story a 2 star is a bit of an overstatement of how I feel about the movie. The only reason is because of the cast and the acting. I can't deny that the cast is great and their acting is just as great. HOWEVER, that is all. I really just watched it because a lot of actors I like are in it and the trailer looked cute.

The trailer is very misleading. It sells itself as a funny rom-com of a couple having light-hearted fights but, in reality, the things they fought over are verrry real and honestly disgusting. They tried to sell it as if both people in the relationship have done something wrong when, in reality, the man mainly did all the wrong. How is the wife at fault for telling her husband to do housework and share responsibilities? They made her look like an over bearing witch. On top of that, it became an excuse for him cheating and being an all around selfish asshole. That's not a light issue. It became increasingly frustrating when he got mad at her for allegedly cheating when he was the one doing the cheating. They tried to make it look like it was funny but it wasn't, it just left a sour taste in my mouth. Just a word of advice for anyone who has a partner like him: RUN. People like that don't change and take advantage of those around them. His friends were also terrible and if that isn't telling, I don't know what is.

They ended by "resolving" their issues and getting back together. If you could call it "resolved". In reality, she got slack for something she didn't deserve to get slack for and he didn't even properly apologize. I truly wish it ended with her leaving him. It's not like the movie was that romantic anyways. At the end of the day, the husband didn't deserve his wife and the movie was neither romantic nor funny. I really wanted something to wind me down after exams and well...this just made me mad and jaded about marriage. I hope anyone reading this (including myself) doesn't end up with such a partner.

The same brilliantly executed desperation and melodrama that's the beauty of Asian films while being intense and jarringly violent.

I know a lot of people don't like screamers but I can hear Suda Masaki scream at me all day.

I kept thinking about Double Mints when I was watching this. The relationship Shinji (Suda Masaki) has with Barikan (Yang Ik Jun) or with his ex gangster boss had the same undertones of Fuchikami Yasushi and Tanaka Shunsuke's relationships in Double Mints.

The way Suda and Ik Jun bond is so organic and just so much feels ㅜ^ㅜ

Seamless movie within movie

A film that focuses on behind the scenes in a classic movie production studio, where the movie director was inspired to shoot a retake for an alternative ending despite multiple challenges and restrictions ahead of it, while a new genre of cult classic was born in the making. The flow of the storyline is actually extremely complicated to execute, yet the script was able to handle the movie within movie seamlessly. A great proof of concept that works well though it may not be a crowd pleaser, luckily it's still pretty entertaining amid the chaos. The final act of that one take sequence is definitely the reason why this movie was selected for Cannes screening of this year, it's simply brilliant.

The style of this movie is uncannily similar to that of the TV show The Office with its documentary style and looking at the relationships of working people.

The relationship lives up to its name - a very ordinary couple. In that sense, the movie doesn't peak and valley like a drama or romantic comedy would. But what it does well is tell the story of an ordinary relationship going through its ups and downs. If you've been in a relationship before, or know of friends' relationship problems, the story will be very relatable. I appreciate the down-to-earthiness, as much as I appreciate the comedy and sometimes farcical nature of it.

Lee Min Ki and Kim Min Hee have good chemistry as a couple breaking up. It would probably be worth a rewatch if you're in a place in your life where you find your relationship going nowhere, or going through a difficult period.

Comfortable

"comfortable" yes, I was made comfortable with the casual small talk in this film. 70 minutes which was not tense at all. This film tells the story of 4 pairs of people who are talking about love, marriage, and work.

I quite like the detailed cinematography. And also the scoring that fits perfectly between their chats. The acting of the players is very good, Jung Yu-Mi, Im Soo-Jung, Jung Eun-Chae, and Han Ye-Ri are very good at playing their faces.

Overall, this film is perfect to watch when you want to enjoy your relaxing time while coffe...

It's not boring nor is it amazing but it is oddly enjoyable. ^^

I started this for Ahn Jae Wook and I liked his role in this film - even if he did look like a gangster with that facial hair, the gelled hair, the gold necklace & earring :P He was lively & curious. I loved watching him constantly trying to find out about his co-worker (played by Choi Ji Woo) - He'd ask her questions upon questions and also offer her un-wanted advice lol - which usually made her cranky - and I found that oddly amusing :P Choi Ji Woo's character is a little too obsessed with the thought of kissing and at times I'd look at her strange for thinking and practicing it... O.o I didn't like their boss or his lover (but they can be easily ignored).

Two people that have never kissed meet and become attracted to one another ^^

The ending was cute - but funny at the same time. (at least I found it funny).

Music fit the film but I didn't really pay attention to it - I did like the last song.

I'm not much of a kmovie watcher so I probably won't re-watch this - but it is re-watchable

I love movies so when The Mermaid was tearing up world wide box office numbers I paid attention. Of course I had to see this movie! At the very least this foreign movie would get a US release with the amount it was making? Well I did find it at the Redbox to rent. So that's something! Monster Hunt never made the Redbox release, even though at the time it was the highest grossing Chinese film. Well as of April 2016 The Mermaid is China's new highest grossing film.

That said the instant the movie started up it only took me a few moments to be utterly disappointed. Of course I then immediately got why it was popular. Disappointed, but I got it.

Visually . . . that was probably my biggest disappointment. Because after reading the synopsis for the movie, I anticipated that this would be kind of standard old school plot for a rom com in the Asian market. What would make it great was the visuals of the mermaids. Well it was bad. China has some of the top graphics out there. They've been doing high tech stuff well before Disney asked them to make their bubbles for The Little Mermaid. So I figured China's mermaids would look stunning. Well I found the tails and one octopus man to look horrible CGI fake. Not to mention the action scenes. I've become spoiled with my affects and it took me a while to adjust. Even then there were so many awkward movie graphics that would still catch me by surprise. (Though I do believe the grandma mermaid was stunning. Especially in the fight at the end.)

As I've said the story was nothing new. It was pretty typical. Characters who hate/want to kill someone and have them fall in love, that's so dramas! What made it stand out was the message behind it. I'm sure you can guess it's an environmental one, but it's a message always worth repeating. I won't lie I had a good time. Even my dad (yes once I rented it and realized there were dubs I made my mom and dad sit through it with me) laughed at the antics. Whether it was from genuine laughter at it's cleverness, or the cop-actor who knocked it out of the park, or the sheer painfulness from some of the more awkward bits we laughed.

The actors were pretty good. I think the stand out performance was by one of the cops at the police station. (When he's first on screen he's the one on the right. Sorry I had a really tough time finding information.) Even both my parents commented on him. Liu Xuan would be my second choice, his character really came to life. He was so awkward and suave, even creepy. Strangely enough my heart gave a little jump when he spoke his cheesy lines to Shan (AKA THE mermaid). Shan and Liu Xuan where cute together. I think both leading ladies brought great energy to their roles. Though considering I'm more interested in finding out who played the cop, it had it's limits.

Music was fun, but not a style I particular care for. Most of the time I didn't think it fit the movie. (Since I keep mentioning my parents I reveal they didn't care for it at all!) No, I won't be seeking this particular OST out.

Rewatch? Oh, you betcha I will! This was one of those over the top movies that will make me laugh off any funky mood. Heck, I'll probably rewatch it with unsuspecting friends just to watch their reactions.

When the credits started rolling my dad turned and looked at me saying, "The Chinese have a lot to learn about movies." To which I said, "But they know! They make amazing movies, this is just on the campy side." The kind that a lot of US viewers stereotype Asian films to. Despite many already seeing some of the more serious ones. (Come on Crouching Tiger anyone?) Newbies to foreign films, especially the Asian stuff, should be warned. For the rest of us just know that it's way over the top. Personally I'm happy I watched it. It put a smile on my face and my parents will be making "plucking" jokes for many months to come.

(Oh, and in all fairness I have seen way crazier films come out in the US. To which my dad conceded the creepy clown movie we just watched last week and many others.)

Highly confusing and disappointing

The second movie left me quite excited for the final part and I sat down happily with my tablet in my hand when it finally came out today. I wish I hadn't expected so much from it!
Throughout the whole movie I couldn't stop thinking about how much I don't understand the story and how pathetically confused I am. It felt as if someone took the interesting parts of the story (and a bunch of incredibly talented actors like Ryosuke, Mackenyu and Keisuke), left the 'boring' scenes out and made a trilogy matching their personal taste. I'm certain that viewers weren't imparted numerous important information which would have been cruical in order to understand the story. I was utterly disappointed because no matter how hard I tried to puzzle out what was going on, I ultimately failed on multiple occasions. I got into a huge maze in the first movie and it got more and more complicated the more time I spent watching the trilogy.
I also must say a few words about the must-romantic interests. Action movies and thrillers would happily survive without these forced cringe romantic elements that make my skin crawl, to be frank. In my eyes, Winry was an absolutely useless and incredibly annoying character, she shouldn't have been given another role than being the one working on Ed's artificial limbs. It simply felt forced from Ed's side, the romantic feelings. As if they just had to exist because the writers thought love must be in the air. It was completely unnecessary and it very much ruined the movie experience. The other romantic couples should have stayed in the friend zone too, if they couldn't make it look and feel natural.
And one last thing I can't leave unspoken is Envy and Greed's death, they had much more potential, I was hoping to see more of them. The Homunculi became too easy to kill by the end of the last movie, I must say.
To sum it up, it's an entertaining movie trilogy but I doubt I could ever sit down again to watch it, maybe the second movie... too bad we didn't get to see Alphonse in his human body in an extra scene in the end, I would have appreciated it, haha.

Ok so here we go.
Story. The storyline was absolutely heart-warming. It was comedic, heart touching, and heartbreaking all at once. The storyline wasn't messy and confusing. It's like a story and the main lead is telling it. Personally, I enjoyed the storyline. Although, personally, I, myself, who watches tons of movie, I was able to anticipate the ending based on the characters. SPOILERS. It's similar to The Fault in Our Stars, where terminal patients have lost the will to live until they meet an optimistic person, who brings them the will to live, but we don't find out till the end, that they are having it worse. Basically, I anticipated that the female lead would have left at the end, due to her optimism and the hope she brought. For me, the twist was easily guessed, so it did get a little boring for me at the end, but nevertheless, I loved the storyline.

Acting/Cast. Male Lead. Basically, I watched this for YYQX, and he's continued to prove himself well. He played the negativity and loss of hope of the character really well. The way he believes he going to die anyway and his one-sided perspective of his illness. I personally believed QX carried this character really well.
The female lead. I heard the actress is a new actress? I think she did pretty well, I couldn't tell, but I'm not a professional critic either. She held the character well and she portrayed it really well. Her optimism and strong-willed-ness?

Music. Well Idk, but there was no music until the end, but it's not bad. It ain't about the music. lol.

Rewatch Value. I definitely would rewatch this. This is like a family movie, there's comedy, heart-breaking moments, support, and growth. Definitely gave me a good cry. lol.

Overall. Bc, I was able to anticipate it, it isn't that high. Lol, sorry not sorry.
Honestly, this is poorly reviewed, bc it's hard to explain without telling the whole damn movie.
