Lee Byung Hun is sexy and provocative
This movie was fantastic! It was well written. It kept me guessing whether or not he knew who he really was. Is he mentally ill, is he possibly possessed , or does he know who he really is.. It was well directed and edited. Small details were consistent and included. The camera angles and artistry was beautiful. The acting was top notch . Lee Byung Hun is sexy and provocative without being too creepy. The music was just right it added to the drama but never stole the show. The only ‘glitch’ wasn’t that bad at all. Could the car accident with the truck have been better? Yes, although it didn’t take away from the movie. However, the race care accident was impressive, and had me also worried about the other driver too.Was this review helpful to you?

This movie is defiantly different from others I've scene and even though the music was pretty cliche for a drama movie, the casting was great the story was sad (if you're emotional like me you will cry). The one thing about this movie though is that it left me wanting more. Even though I really liked the ending, for me it's just missing something, which makes me constantly re-watch this movie and constantly think about it. However at least in my opinion, that's what makes a good movie. When it has you constantly thinking even long after you've watched it.
Koizora is sad, cute, and sweet. It is certainly aimed at girls, probably for high-school/college students, but I feel like anyone who just wants to watch a sweet love story and is in the mood for something a bit sadder then usual would really enjoy this movie.

Reviewing because I personally don't agree with the really bad reviews, but hey everyone is different so it's fine but I just wanted to give my own thoughts.SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
First off, yes the direction is not perfect, nor the writing but I feel like I was still into it, and watched without getting bored.
A mermaid named Yixia gets saved by this guy who's a minister Yuanshan and married into the royal family and then things happen and Yuanshan falls for the mermaid pretty hard and cheats on his wife.
But there's a Dragon, a monster chasing the mermaid and trying to kill him but Yuanshan saves him again, but his wife ends up dying.
And so Yuanshan ends up abandoning Yixia, because there are other things happening in the background.
He's basically the person who becomes the guy who will be next on the throne because the current Prince is just so bad, doing all kinds of dumb things like hiring the same monster Dragon as his confidant.
But when Yuanshan abandons Yixia who is immortal by the way, he's hurt but comes back to face Yuanshan after three years.
By then things have severely escalated.
And when Yixia learns that despite abandoning him, Yuanshan actually does love him, he becomes emotional again and says he's going to protect Yuanshan with his life and we literally see Yixia go inside Yuanshan (no pun intended lol) and then we find out that Yuanshan now basically has the mermaids power and he has the mermaids jade silk in his hand as he lays on the bloody ground.
MAJOR ENDING SPOILER
Okay now for the controversial ending.
When I first saw someone say 'cut' and 'Yuanshan' takes off his wig and we see the historical movie set and the others actors etc are all interacting but Yuanshan just takes his food and goes to sit to one side like a loner.
Ngl I did feel cheated at first because I was like wth is this meta shit lol
Buuut hear me out.
I thought this for maybe two seconds till 'Yuanshan' or the actor playing Yuanshan still carrying the Jade silk in his hand, goes towards the ancient building which is where the movie was being shot, and he's going there as if in a daze and then we see all the love making scenes again, the one in the bathroom and in bed with the red sheets as though Yuanshan is remembering it and then finally we see him getting a little emotional, and then he just stands at this one point and gets tears in his eyes, until we see someone put their hand on Yuanshans shoulder - and then it's revealed that that person who was carrying a camera, was none other than Yixia.
Well, here's my interpretation.
Because of the Mermaid's powers, Yuanshan is now immortal like Yixia, and it wasn't an actor but the same Yuanshan and those scenes were his own memories from all those years ago.
Clearly Yixia also survived somehow, or maybe it was just his desire, to see Yixia, I don't know, but personally I feel like they're showing that their love basically transcends the boundaries of time and life.
So you tell me how it's not at least a little poetic?
Like I said the execution may not be great but for one things there's skin ship in this one that is just so good! Like full on proper Thai BLs level skin ship! You should at least give it a way h for this alone xD

Horror movie with a heartfelt plot
This movie is good enough but not on that splendid level yet.The cinematography is excellent and is able to create that eerie atmosphere giving tension and the sounds also helps in setting the overall mood of the film. The story is enriched with something relatable and easy to grasp however for horror enthusiasts, the horror factor isn't much of a thrill.
Ha JunWoo and Kim NamGil on a film is really a delight. These are the actors already proven their versatility in acting. Kim NamGil's role made a new perspective of an exorcist. It combined the old style of shamanism and the modern tech savvy kind of exorcism which is present in Western horror films.
HeoYool who potrayed YiNa and Shin Ah who portrayed MyungJin is also on a different level with their acting. Watching them is really heartbreaking. In reality, children may be young but they do have feelings.
If you want to watch a movie that is more than just a horror film you must watch this. For those people who doesn't like jump scare horror, this is a good pick as well.

To shaman or not to shaman
It's technically a generation battle of shamanism between an evil mystical being and the Cheon clan, led by the untalented grandson of the chief shaman for revenge, overall it has great visual effects and cinematography. However the direction of the storyline somehow felt lost, it's using a mix of both practical combat and psychic powers for the fights, which gets muddled on whether the movie is trying to be tactical or mystical, because even the resolution part gets the same treatment. Just like its intro part when they're showing how shamanism is a con with staged props to scam money, but then afterwards the whole movie turns out to be a huge shaman battle, it's quite contradicting at some point. Was this review helpful to you?
It's quite a dark movie with just a few happy moments, but somehow it left me with a warm feeling.
Also, some of the supporting characters left me with a deep impression as well, one of the bad guys and the shopkeeper, even though neither of them had a lot of screen-time.
I give this movie a full 10, I was entertained, moved, and didn't take my eyes off the screen until the end.

A really funny and refreshing comedy slash horror film that was mostly comedy
So this movie is about the carefree Gin and how he gained two unlikely friends, Little Princess and Lu Qun, by "accidently" saving them from a bully. Since then, both of them tagged along with Gin, even to the point of following him all the way to his grandparents' hot spring hotel.Maybe I haven't watched as many comedy films before, especially Taiwanese ones, but this movie was a comedic masterpiece! There'd always be something to laugh about at least in every other scene, and it's not just your simple giggle but a full-blown belly laugh! More than a horror film, the comedic elements are what got to me tbh. They don't try too hard to be funny, it's just naturally funny, and I'm all for that :") Another thing that I loved and which actually brought me in, in the first place, was the bromance between Gin and Little Princess.
Just to be clear, this film was no way a BL (sad tbh) but it had really good bromance. And for me, that's a selling point. I'm bought! But for real though, I really liked the relationship between the trio. They were a hilarious trio. Chemistry between them were on point!
I honestly wasn't expecting much, seeing as this was my first Taiwanese movie, but I haven't laughed this much in such a long time, simply from an almost 2 hours long movie. Kudos!
Fyi, my music rating was a 1.0 'cause there really wasn't any music? If there was, it was only just the background music, I guess.

Movie isn't bad altough you might get dissaponted if you get used to Takeshi's Yakuza bad ass characters. You won't find anything like that here.
It also isn't typical cute romance like some school dramas... it's more like slice of life drama.
There is also not much going on on surface... not much talking( well main character is deaf;) yet action slowly moves forward... but i guess it's the way people live at coast ;]
Even if you won't like movie I'm sure you will like music. Very nice tunes.

There were no boring scenes throughout the movie, everything was there for a reason, whether it is for character establishment, development or emotional impact. There were some quite emotional and thought-provoking moments that made my eyes water. Although the story had a dark (and sometimes preachy) undertone, it made good use of comedy from time to time for relief so that it doesn't get too overloading.
A downside is that the story felt "episodic", like many mini stories combined, and they could have ended the movie after any one of those mini stories without it feeling off. This caused the build-up to the final boss fight to lose its momentum a bit, and the story almost fell apart in the middle (luckily it didn't).
Acting (8.5/10)
The acting wasn't the main focus of the movie, but the priest completely stole the show. He was 100% a priest, from his talking mannerisms, to his expressions... even his face looked like a priest.
Park Seo Joon, on the other hand, did not really outperform himself in this. He was good as usual, but his character wasn't that different from what I normally see from him, hence I don't have much to say about him. Woo Do Hwan was charismatic as the dark priest because he had devilish vibes and a devilish pretty face to go along with it. Everyone else in the story didn't have much screentime (there were some surprise cameos tho).
Messages (7.5/10)
This movie touched on some really interesting religious themes but failed to develop them properly (maybe because they didn't want to come off as preachy). I related so much to the ML's religious struggles, and I often asked the same question as he did. The movie didn't really answer his question, but I came up with my own answer after watching it, so I guess the movie was still spiritually enlightening in some way despite its lukewarm reflections. I think the movie was meant to be an action film and the religious aspect was just a bonus for the sake of storytelling and some slight character development, but it really could have been so much more than that.
Overall, a decent commercial movie that is thoroughly entertaining, with a good mix of action, comedy, tearjerking moments and mild horror. Would recommend to anyone who wants to see a suspenseful action movie that has horror elements but is not too terrifying or gruesome to watch. This one is pretty much entry level horror that most people can bear with, so if the reason you don't want to watch this is because it's a horror movie, you could definitely reconsider watching it.

I had very little expectations of this movie. I didn't really know the story and I definitely didn't know the actors, which meant I was a blank slate.
It was a wonderful experience. First of all, the romance feels real. You can see them falling for each other piece by piece, and it's that deep, profound affection kind of love. They like being around each other. Second, the villain. He really did it for me—as in, I could totally get behind our heroine trying to protect the hero from him, because Dude was legitimately off his rocker. That's the kind of thing not many stories pull off well; it just reads as noble idiocy. I was so pleased that this was not the case with this movie.
Next, the look and feel of the film. It's nothing amazing, but it feels and looks good, especially the mountain scenes. The end scene is also awesome. I also have to mention the music. It really carried the mood, and was never intrusive.
Last, the actors. They're natural, have wonderful chemistry, and I really enjoyed watching them. It might be a stupid point to mention, but I also enjoyed the fact that the lead actor is not a stick? Like, he LOOKS like someone who has spent his life dedicated to martial arts?
The end isn't for everybody, but if you're in the right kind of mood, THIS is the movie to watch.
