This is an understed movie. Have been wanting to watch this movie for a while but couldn’t find the right source to watch it. Finally My heart is happy. Such an amazing true story. My first time watching Ju Seung Woo acting, have heard about his amazing acting, love his sweet voice, subtle facial expression, finger movement, eyes looking. I am pretty sure he won best acting award, if not I would be so disappointed. Talking about mother’s love. Many autism parents give up on their autism child, didn’t treat them As humanly. People tense to bully autism kids. Society didn’t treat them respectfully. As far as I know, autism kids can be heartheaded. As soon as they set their goal, with proper guidance, with their unbelievably memory, they can excel.
I almost had some tears in my eyes at the end. The OST is partly causing it. The mother struggling, uncertain what is best for the child, naturally wanting to protect the child but the child had his mind set.
A must watch movie.

A movie that broke my heart into million pieces
I'm writing this as my tears are still not yet dried from all the bawling I did because of this movie.STORY
Road trip with a dying cancer patient isn't exactly the most original plot but the director has executed this story in the most original way possible. I love the way Aood's (girlfriend) stories gradually travel backward eventually leading up to how Boss and Aood's friendship was formed. They're all touching in different ways and all had me bawling my eyes out. However, the most tearjerking element was Aood's dad's death and the use of his dad's narration through out the film. I was bawling my eyes out by the time we got to the end. The ending was so bittersweet. 10/10 for writing. Not a single redundant dialogue. Everything was perfect from start to finish.
ACTING/CAST
Ice is absolutely incredible as Aood and you really feel our protagonist's pain as he goes on a journey to ask for forgiveness from people whom he's hurt. Tor really proved he got chops in the second half of the movie when the story of Boss and Prim unfolds. Violette and Tor has been in past projects together so there was no doubt they would have perfect chemistry and they absolutely delivered.
MUSIC
I fucking cried every time Aood opens a cassette tape from his father's radio show and as his father introduces the song, montages of Aood 's stories start unfolding. The music selection for this movie was top tier and immaculate. The director, the music score and composer were truly out for blood with the soundtrack for this movie and they did it. They shattered my heart into a million pieces with every song played in this movie. This film is a good example of how important soundtrack and film scores are to elevate the narrative being told.
REWATCH VALUE
I think it'll be hard for me to come back to watching this movie. It's quite a slow movie that's absolutely gonna break your heart so I would save this for sad rainy day because it's meant to be enjoyed fully from start to finish.
PRODUCTION
As expected of a GDH production, beautiful cinematography, ingenious transitions, brilliant writing. There are so many things to praise about the production of this film but if I had to choose one thing, it would be the excellent mise-en-scene of this film. Every shot is dazzling, intentional and fill with metaphors. It was truly beautiful.
OVERALL
It's an underrated gem that I think everyone should give it a try on a rainy day or when you're feeling down and you want to cry your heart out to a film, One For The Road is the perfect film for such a day.

I usually don't watch things like this put the plot pulled me in. Its based off a true story which made it harder to watch.
The acting was very good. I didn't think young kids could act like this. The kids were the ones that made me cry the most.
So I want people to watch this. I want people to watch and see how good these actors are and how good the movie is. I loved it. No, I won't re-watch it. My heart can't handle that.
Its more then I expected.

The acting is top notch with great actors Joo Jin Mo, Song Seung Hun, and Kim Kang Woo. If they weren't in this movie then I probably wouldn't have watched it.
The music is appropriate.
I won't rewatch this.
If you like mindless action, then this is the movie for you.

Realistic story
I discovered this in the trending list on Netflix and just watched this movie. This 2006 Taiwanese movie gives me "Your Name Engraved Herein" vibe. The three main casts portrayed their characters very well. I first saw Ray Chang in the "We Best Love" but he was much better here. This film is not the kind of lovely dovey film but it reflects how love in reality is complicated and mess up our lives when people are in love with someone whom they can't openly confess their love for some reasons. The story is good. Music supports the film and hits the emotions. One thing, they left the ending open. I wish they could make the ending a little bit longer. Was this review helpful to you?

Hooray for girl power....?
You come home after a long day of work and see this on your Netflix homepage. You watch it because you had a long day of work and you wanna turn your brain off. Story is the same old rehashed ex-bodyguard/assassin/fighter coming out of retirement/unemployment/being a bum to take avenge his/her parents'/friends'/pets' death. Main character takes on waves and waves of baddies and never loses. After you finish this movie, you go to bed and sleep and then the next day begins. The only thing that remembers this movie is your Netflix history. This movie is entertaining, I'll give you that. The fight scenes were exciting and left me wanting more, despite being on the verge of a seizure with all the rapid jump cuts. Main actress not willing to do the stunt work herself? Strange directorial choice. Bad CGI at some points as well. In addition, the acting wasn't anything to be raved about; and I'm shocked to see that the lead actress actually won a Baeksang previously. She had 0 chemistry with the friend whose death she was avenging. Like girl, why? Logically I get it, but emotionally I'm not feeling it yknow? And this was probably the greatest flaw of the film. Don't get me started on the random high school girl that sort of became her sidekick lol.
Cinematography and music wise it seemed like the director wanted to emulate the western style of thrillers, which I can't say is necessarily a bad thing (I personally quite liked it, particularly the music) but others may disagree. The ballet parts were quite well shot and kind of reminded me of Black Swan. I was hoping to see more ballet scenes, since this movie is called ballerina after all but unfortunately not. In fact, when I first saw this movie I expected it to be about an ex-ballerina turned assassin but in actuality the only association to ballet is the main character avenging her friend who just happens to be a ballerina. Strange name choice...
In conclusion, only watch if you just want a mind-numbing thriller to pass time. This movie is utterly forgettable and you won't remember (or want to remember) any of it. Just one of the many B-list thriller movies that Netflix pumps out. A better female centric thriller would be My Name, which has way better fighting scenes, better acting and a slightly more fleshed out plot. I'm only giving this a 6.5 because it's only 1.5 hrs long and I was fairly entertained by it lmao

I would not recommend to watch this movie without watching the original series (preferably the brotherhood version or the manga).
The story is one big mess, I see what they tried to do but it failed. First of all it would have been better for the story -and character development to put this in a three or four part movie of 2 hours instead one single movie. They left out so many key-elements in the movie and on top of that, the movie didn't explain the elements that were there at all! I can imagine that someone who didn't watch the anime would drop this movie in an instant. The story was fast paced which didn't give the viewer much room to get connected to the characters or understand their actions. They also put in very important characters and didn't use them at all (like the three villains). Almost everyone was lacking a background story. The end was so extremely rushed that I felt really unfulfilled.
BUT, I really loved the tiny things that they perfectly picked up on. For example all the clothes that everyone wore, the logo's that were shown and even how some characters walked or put their glasses back on; these were spot on. I loved the scenery and the CGI wasn't bad either.
Sadly this didn't save the movie, and I am dissapointed and I really tried to like it so badly but it failed.
Watch this: If you want it to give a try.
Skip this: if you thought this would be the live-action movie of the year.

Rather than movies, I am a more drama-person. But Park Bo Young and Kim Young Kwang, these two are the cutest ones! And after seeing them as couple, I don't have any chance but to watch. Did you see the photos from press conference? I started to think "I will definitely love this movie" after realize their chemistry. And also those movie posters! Everything about this movie looked so cute to me, except one thing, its name. And my fears came true. I couldn't think it doesn't have an happy-ending. The name of the movie says lots of things, it says "you should prepare for an possible unhappy-ending". But I didn't want to hear. I was expecting a love story. It wasn't. It was a story about intermittent relationship of 2 people who don't try hard enough to be happy together. I don't know why Woo Yeon didn't call her when he is in the military service. Maybe he decided to forget her. So if he decided to forget her, why he didn't just ignore her when he saw her in the street after several years. And in my opinion Seung Hee was always passive for their love and was the person who loves less. There are more things in my mind, but won't dwell on this subject.
I loved the not-chronological story telling technique, leaps from past to present than again to past were interesting.
About acting, there can't be any problem. In my opinion they are just perfect.
I love Woo Yeon's love. Yes, I think he had some mistakes. But things he did for her especially during highschool days were so cute. Also his reactions! *-* Maybe the reason of it is Kim Young Kwang, aren't his reactions so cute?!
I was in a "cute love story movie" mood, but the times that they look happy together were really short, they immediately met with an obstacle (or they made an obstacle for themselves). Yes, maybe it was realistic. Maybe 2 people who really loves each other can't be happy even if they try hard. But it doesn't matter more realistic or not, I hate unhappy endings. Also I hate spoilers (I didn't read even plot summary part to avoid spoilers), but I wish I saw an spoiler about this movie's unhappy ending, so I didn't watch it and I would choose a movie about cute love story.

All the actors were amazing. Kim Haneul is one of my favorite korean actresses so probably she's one of the reasons why i watched this movie in the first place. And i wasn't disappointed. I also have to mention Kim Yoojung. She's young but amazing!
And about music.. All the songs were also really good. They were better than i thought they would be.
Rewatch value is 7/10, because usually i don't rewatch movies. But if i were bored then yeah, i would watch it again because it's a nice movie.
9 points out of 10.

The movie started off just being funny as the leads meet by "coincidence" and then start this weird partnership of doing all these odd jobs to make quick money. For a comedy I thought they wrote the story more realistic than I'm use to seeing with K romantic comedies. The story does get a bit dramatic towards the end due to some unforseen events, although I quite guessed what happened would happened. The romance in this was really light and we don't really see any payoffs till the end. I didn't really have a problem with this because although the leads had a good chemistry I didnt sense a romantic connection. It could be the fact that HYS looks 10 yrs older than SJK. Anyways the actors did a great job with thier characters and portrayed thier flaws perfectly. I'd watch this again but not right away because I wasn't in love with the story.
