This is the first Kdrama I have watched in my life. This show is worth to see.  Lee Jong Suk and Suzy Bae made a really good couple. The story is very much breathtaking and will create intense thoughts in the audiences mind. The song lyrics are relatable with the real life. This show let the audiences put themselves on the characters shoes and let the audiences feel the experiences that each character goes through. Every single episode are heart touching.  It is hard to believe that it is really over, and I miss it already! From the nightmares to the laugh-out-loud moments, the nail-biting court trials to the feel-good scenes, this drama delivered several wonderful contents. This show is entirely without faults. There should be a second season for this show. <3

Initially the story was o.k. Felt interesting and continued watching but I could nit past 20th episode.  As the episodes went on,they start to get ridiculous. The story line gets repeating with Ming Lang mother going bersek with ZLY. It keeps going in cycle with the blaming game going one from one episode to another with repeating consequences. The story starts to get disconnected with illogical scenes especially the role of Ming Lang father. The problem with many screenwriters nowaday are they lack research and they merely forced some situations ir scenes to get the story going without any consideration. Looks like good quality writers who make good research are rare nowadays. Viewers are getting more sophiscated and writers need to buck up with this trend. Overall this drama is not worth watching as it is just poorly planned and written.

Story: The story can be somewhat hard to follow at times unless you fully watch it without distractions, but it was a very good story. There was romance that build gradually through all the stages: shy beginnings, revealing secrets, awkward first kisses and laughs to bittersweet endings and new beginnings. The suspense develops slower than most, but the subtlety of it kept me wanting and watching more. I found myself questioning certain things and looking at the details; not to mention pondering over the idea of how well you actually know hose you love.

Cast: The cast was very nice. Miura Haruma fans are in for a treat; he not only looks great but does a wonderful job in a serious role, even learning Chinese well enough to not be subbed over, although errors are written into the script to remind everyone he is a Japanese man living in China. I thought the scripting was good, but his acting made it better.  Liu Cecilia did a wonderful job as the twins, adding small subtle things to make them different personalities and add to the suspense of wondering how well not only you know those around you, but how well you know yourself. There was always a slight charge of "what if...?" that filled the movie that I think the actors did a wonderful job utilizing to its full potential.

Music: I loved the music for this film. The instrumentals were placed well for situations, emphasizing both story and actors. If I knew where to download the soundtrack, I would.

Rewatch: This movie has a fair amount of rewatch value and you may even gain a new perspective if you do rewatch it. I will not watch it again for a while simply because it's not something I finished and went "Let's do that again!" It's a romance film for every once in a while.

Overall, it's a good movie if you want something that is carefully written, has good acting and it a bit more bittersweet.  I hope this helps and happy drama watching! :D

I honestly was expecting to give this movie at least 7 out of 10 mainly because I rarely ever watch anything 'black comedy'.  I'm not being biased at all but this was really enjoyable and I loved every bit of it, especially after the 20-minute mark. It started off a bit slow for me but then it gradually built up and I couldn't stop watching in one sitting without pausing. It has a tiny bit of suspense and it's quite hilarious as well. Violent scenes are not severe/graphic.

If you're still contemplating on whether or not to watch it, just try it out. If it's boring for you once you reach 20-30 minutes in, then it's definitely not your cup of tea.

Undoubtedly, Because This Is My First Life is one of the best romcoms till date. The story, screenwriting, depiction, characters, direction and acting all factors make this drama a sublime one, near to being flawless.

Basically I received two kinds of depiction from this drama. On the first half, it was portrayed (may be I’m wrong but it’s totally my perception) love is important but living life is far too important. Love comes gradually. Not necessarily it always have to be “love” at first then “marriage” between two persons, however, “marriage” can happen before as a natural response of fulfilling basic needs between two people and then love can be discovered in the process. Conversely, on the second half, it was portrayed, realizing a person is in love is most important and marriage will come naturally as a result. Love and marriage are two completely different subject. If love fails between a couple, marriages is not possible. Marriage comes with a huge baggage which is not a game, it needs sacrifice, commitment and perseverance. Two different arguable school of thoughts. Former quite old-fashioned and latter quite contemporary. What I think no matter which era we live in or what people say about living in 21st century, marriage-a holy institution- should not be abolished completely. It is imperative for any society and I’m happy at the end the drama focused on marriage.

The story was based on romantic relationship of three couples. Main highlight was three women characters. One was in a living relationship for seven years, who typically like many other girls wants a family of her own by getting married and having a kid. She was all into settled life. Another girl who was smart, beautiful and brave doesn’t believe in love or marriage rather believe more in casual physical relationship. She was audacious, careerist and hardheaded woman. And the third one is the struggling one who was in her 30s but was fighting to make her own way of becoming a screenwriter. She was never into dating or any relationship but falls victim of a contract marriage and ended up falling for the person she married. These were three individual romantic set up. Through the romantic lenses of these three different relationships, different contemporary societal facts and issues of modern world have been highlighted. A crude realistic vision of modern society was embedded in the dialogues and monologues.

Three couples had their own hardships both from personal level and also as a couple. Through the romance of Ho Rang-Won Seok couple a newfangled reality of romance has been executed. They were into living relation for more than seven years when they gradually realized they both are way different than each other. When it comes to marriage various issues forced them to part their ways. Through Sang Goo-Su Ji couple, a more independent and casual romance have been executed. The couple transitioned from friends-with-benefits to a more serious relationship. Su Ji was shown as the epitome of modern careerist women who in the journey of building her own place in the corporate world constantly faced despicable adversities. Where surviving in a harsh patriarchal society in itself difficult, love, marriage, relationship and a settled family were always secondary to her. The tensions created between these two couples, their falling apart from each other and coming back are quite evident in real life couples as well. Nonetheless, in reality not all couples goes back together.

The third and the main romantic couple of the drama was Ji Ho-Se Hee couple. They were due to some circumstances bounded by contract marriage. The concept of contract marriage can be unrealistic but the story depicted through their relationship by emphasizing on multifarious sides of a wedded life is simply marvelous. In love only two people are involved and in marriage number of people are involved. Responsibilities to run a family, responsibilities towards in-law family and to compromise in almost any situation despite against one’s will is what marriage is. The couple realized that they are not only entitled to solely think about their happiness and contentment. Instead they realized, it’s more about fulfilling other people’s (mainly in-laws) needs and wishes rather than their own. Mostly the sufferer is the bride. Ji Ho wanted to break the stereotype. Through her character it was portrayed, love is crucial than marriage. Being married not necessarily means to fulfill other people’s expectations. If they keep on doing that when will they be able to fulfill their own desire? To fall in love, to discover each other, to respect each other, to understand each other should be comprised 90% of marriage. Completing family rituals, doing regular household chores, giving birth, to maintain a good bond with the in-laws are not the essentials in a married life. Those are indeed good things which will come gradually along the course of running the family life. When these extraneous factors become more important, love dies between the couple which shouldn’t be the case.

I fell in love with the concept of the story. Marriage is a wonderful and a very strong institution which is not denied here. Preferably the foreground was to respect each other’s space, to respect each other’s dreams and aspiration and to help let each other’s other half grow as per their wish, as a result a jovial conjugal life is possible. Marriage shouldn’t be strangled with the wishes and dreams of the nearer ones but it should be more about substituting each other’s weakness with each other’s strength.

Acting by the casts were excellent. Decades later I could see Lee Min Ki on small screen which in itself pretty overwhelming. Jung So Min is one of my favourite actresses and my girl crush. She is beautiful and an utterly talented actress. I thoroughly enjoy all her work. The other actors did laudable job. Not even once I felt they were acting. They all felt real and natural.

The OSTs are really nice. With some scenes few OSTs are played accordingly which suited the mood of the scenes perfectly.

Few of the scenes are there in the drama which are my favourites. One was the conversation between Se Hee and his mother-in-law during Se Hee-Ji Ho’s wedding, another between Ji Ho and her mother during the very day and also at their house when they were conversing about Se Hee and some scenes from flashbacks of 80s which were consisted of only Ji Ho’s monologue. Also the comic reliefs of this drama are extraordinary. One moment it will engross you into something grave then immediately it will give you a good amount of laughter dose. Some of those comical moments are also my favourites.

On the whole, it is a great drama which executed the difficult, sensitive and complicated issues of relationship from various perspectives: relationship within marriage, relationship without marriage, living relationship and casual relationship. The concept was not an easy one to write. Full credit should go to the writers for their wonderful creativity of lucidly showing all kinds of romantic relations in one drama. Never seen such realistic and meaningful romcom ever before.

Guys go watch it. No regrets guaranteed.

Quite surprised about the negative reviews but I guess it is to be expected. There is no makjang and it is hard to keep the average k drama fan interested when there is no hijinks
Full disclosure: I have been waiting 5 years to watch Seo Hyun Jin in a lead role since Mr Oh isComing( I probably will get that subbed myself)
Back to the story, a lot of retconned were used which I didn't exactly like but apart from that it was simply refreshing.
Kim Jae Wook is very popular from comments on the drama, but I am never a fan of a  daddy long legs character. His character took a bad turn but I guess that is realistic, humans are self-serving.
I loved how this story defined love: do you love the heart of the person? Do you love the person the way they are and dont try to change them?
Do you wait for your significant other or do you run to them?
I enjoyed how the hypocritical nature of humans was addressed. Humans are fickle, and that fickleness makes us perfectly flawed
On the second female lead's romance.. that was the usual fare and disappointing. It reminds me of stories in which an ugly girl has to be changed into a pretty girl by the male lead. An antithesis of the main couple. The Kazuya and Aya Omasa drama comes to mind... (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge)
It is a story for grown-ups and quite laid back
I liked how business and writing worlds were portrayed
There is no gift without strings attached.
If you want something different you will enjoy this
And the male lead striking resemblance to the actor from Tomorrow With you is shocking

I am writing this as HUGE fan of Shojo format dramas and anime.  It seems like the writer of the manga pulled every possible trope from this genre and put it in this story.  There are elements from Itazura na Kiss - Love in Tokyo, Hana Yori Dango, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, and even Switch Girl!! 2. While predictable it wasn't annoying over the top at all.  There is not question (from the audience) whether they love each other, its whether they figure it out or not themselves.  Highlighting the insecurities of (I was going to say young, but I know 40 yr olds who act like this) immature girls.

I recommend this one if you love Shojo,  Even if you don't because they are over the top and frustrating, because this one is ...more believable?  More real?  More current times?  All of the above.

So pull up some tissues, your netflix remote, and watch this generations Shojo classic.

REALLY RECOMMEND IT!!! i actually had to come back to change my ratings cause i'm still not over it  and i don't think i'll ever be. It's still the most heart touching drama I've ever seen till date. Both the seasons 1 and 2.  Obviously i chose to watch this cause i found Noh cute as hell!! but i didn't  watch it  cause i thought it might have be sad AND IT WAS!!  but i'm really glad i did cause this series has SO MUCH FEELS~  that it BROKE MAH HEART!!!! i mean  the story as well as the characters  just  grasp your heart and just leaves you awestruck throughout and most importantly you can actually feel how much Phun and Noh love each other and that's  just amazing!!!

After watching this version , I have to say it became my favorite out of other versions ~ other viewers may or may not feel the same ..

There were some changes in the drama's storyline which made it more interesting , I think they didn't want the viewers to feel they were watching the same drama as the other two but it has a combination of both the Taiwanese and Korean version while having its own unique storyline .

What I loved the most about the Thai version was the Male Lead Character they made him more likable and much nicer than other versions , not as mean as in the K-Drama and more admirable with him being in touch with his love for the Female Lead than in the T- Drama .

About the Female Lead Character I think she was more weaker than other version but I did not hate that & I liked how she turned out in the end , the girl finally got the guts xD

Unlike the other versions , I enjoyed this more even if there were some frustrating parts in the drama but still I have watched all the episodes without skipping any because it was less dramatic , much sweeter & more logical in comparison .

I did skip episodes form other versions cause in case of T-Drama was too draggy and the story was all over & K-Drama started well but at the end became boring to me , but as I said everyone will have his own opinion in which version they will like the best .

And the ending was great I liked that they made it intimate ...

I feel if I keep writing I'll spoil the drama there's a lot of things I want to write about the things that I liked , but it will consider a spoiler :s

Anyway ... It is very clear that I enjoyed this one & I think everyone will do too ~

Please don‘t get irritated because I gave this drama a high score. It is all thanks to the Acting and the chemistry between the Leads (and the Actors and Actresses all in all)

Story: The Story is about two people who fall in Love, break up and meet again after a few years, when they are a little older. The story begins promising but in my opinion Ha Myunghees dramas doesn‘t have to be more than 16 (32) Episodes. The Script doesn‘t suit the episode count. Honestly, the beginning was promising and I liked the storyline, because there were to people who fall in Love, break up and meet again after a few years. But...there are (other than the break up) not many conflicts… I mean where are the parents, who I want to hate? Where are the enemies?
Sadly I have to say, that you don‘t need to watch this drama for the story (But you could like it, if you liked Doctors). I watched this drama after a the first half only because of the Actors.

Actors: That brings me to the people who did their best...and they did it amazing. I wouldn‘t rate this drama with 9.5 if it wasn‘t for the Actors. Yes, the Story was...loooong and fast told, but the Actors did amazing jobs.
First of all Seo Hyunjin. ToL was my first drama with her in the first lead role. I was excited, because I heart very good tings about her acting after she acted in „Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim“ and „Another Oh Hayoung“. SHJ played a woman at the end of her twentys (later in her 30s) who works very hard as an assistant writer who really tries to win a contest. Because of her Job she fights with her younger sister, with whom she lives under a roof. Hyunjin did a very good job. Her character Lee Hyunsoo is tough, has energy, but hasn‘t much interest in Love. In my Opinion Hyunjin is a very good Actress and now I will watch her other dramas too. She was one of the reasons, why I rated this drama so high.
The Second (or first) reason is Yang Sejong. Yes I was sceptical when I heart, that he would play the first male Lead Role. Why? Because I saw his Acting in Duel and it was so amazing, that I thought he can‘t top it. Okay, honestly I can‘t compare his roles whith one another. But he did it. He was amazing, even though it was his first Lead role in a romantic drama. Sejong plays On Jungsun a young chef in his twentys who grew up in Francem where he was interesten in the french cuisine. At the beginning of the drama he works as a chef in a restaurant, where his boss is a ‚friend‘ of him. Jungsun doesn‘t have any experiences in Love but he learns very fast what it means to love another person woth all he have. Sejong really is an amzing actor and he wirks very hard. I hope his talent will be recognized, because I am very sad, that his dramas have low ratings…
The Second Male Lead was played by Kim Jaewook. I like his Acting very much because of „Who are you“ where he played a Ghost. Jaewook did an amazing job, but his role was… I think it was a very complacted role. He played Park Jungwoo, a successfull CEO of his own Company who is interested in Hyunsoo and in Jungsun because of his cooking. So he becomes hin investor and one of the most important people of Jungsun (and Hyunsoo, too). Without knowing that his two friedns have known each other for years he loves Hyunsoo since he knows her.  He loves Jungsun, too, like a brother, but not enough to give up his love of his Life. Jaewooks acting impressed me very much. But his character wasn‘t mean enough. If it weren‘t for Sejong, I would have rooted for Jungwoo, because he was so...tragical.
Jo Boah played the best friend of Hyunsoo who is rich but jealous when others are recognized and she doesn‘t. Boah played her role well, even though I think she seems to be younger that she really is. The opposite from Sejong who could be older than he really is. Boah role was Ji Hong ah who is in love with Jungsun, but sometimes I thought she only thought she loves him because Hyunsoo live him, too. I hope you know, what I mean.
The people around Jungsun (Shim Heesub, Cha Inha, Lee Kangmin, Block Bs P.O and Chae Soojung acted very well, too. Ji Iljoo who plays the junior of Kim Jaewooks character and Lee Chohee who plays the other best friend of Hyunsoo were very cute when they were together.

The Chemistry between the Actors were very good, even though the first two episodes were a little bit awkward. I hope Sejong and Hyun will be play a couple again but with a better script, ecause they are very good Actors and it would be nice to see them again. Maybe in a really sad melodrama^^.

Music: The Music was amazing. I love the OST. The whole OST.

All in all I want to say that you don‘t need to watch it, if you don‘t care for the Actors. But If you love the Actory you should try it, because the Acting and music rescues the whole Drama...

I sped through the first season by forwarding and getting the gist of most of the characters and their stories. Typically stories about cold and uncaring male leads and clingy female leads can be a turn off, though for some reason I still make myself suffer through them because something about watching that annoying male lead fall in love with the female lead is brings me back every time. So the first season didn't really leave an impression on me.

The second season was suggested to me on Netflix and I decided to give it a shot because it's the Holidays and I'm at home being a bum. I'm legit so happy I gave the second season a shot! Basically it's a vast improvement from the first season. The characters feel more real, the acting is a lot better and more believable, and I weirdly found myself rooting for the female protagonist! I absolutely adored her character growth this season and watching her become the character she became at the end was such a treat. Heck even the male lead and his character growth was wonderful to watch! Their acting as they mature into adults and fully understand their love for each other was the highlight of the last few episodes.

Be warned, the Second Lead Syndrome is SO powerful in this one. Good God the second male lead was such a gem! He had me rooting for him till the very end. What a delightful character.

All in all, I definitely recommend this. Even if you are turned off by the cold male lead-clingy and hopelessly romantic female lead trope, don't let that deter you. This show isn't what you think it'll be in the best way possibly.

STORY: This isn't the most original story, not by a long shot - typical shoujo high school romance with a pretty boy and an introverted girl. However, it was executed fairly well. The story was somewhat rushed, some of the most critical points from the manga and anime were hit but the events happened almost back to back with little spacing between the and the characters lacked some of the development the manga gave them. That being said it was not a bad adaptation; the writing conveyed the cuteness and bittersweet moments of a new relationship, the importance of friendships and the growth someone can experience as they go through high school.

CAST: The casting for this movie was very well done, and they worked well with how fast paced the movie was. I was unsure of Fukushi Sota as Yamato - having never seen his work before - to me, his look was almost too cute at first when he smiled. As the movie progressed I quickly realized he fit it well because of how well he took on the character and his mannerisms. I found every member of the cast did very well with their roles and I regretted not watching this film sooner. Kawaguchi Haruna was perfect as Mei, she did so well getting into character and doing things subtly. Seeing her upset made me upset.  My only wish is that they had extended Kai's role and the situation with him more as well as the Megumi conflict. Final thought, the cast made this go from meh to pretty good.

MUSIC: I didn't pay to much attention to the music in this film, the instrumentals fit well into the background, perfectly fitting the emotions. The final song for the credits was catchy and it took me a moment to realize it was an English song. I surprised by how much I enjoyed it and it stayed in my head for just a pop song, but the lyrics made it apparent why it was used.

REWATCH: I probably will not rewatch this for a while, but not because it isn't good. This is a decent adaptation, I simply want to watch other things at the moment. The story is cute, fast paced, the cast is very good and the film is only 1 hour and 40 minutes. Not even 2 hours! It isn't without fault but it is enjoyable enough to watch when you need a sweet romance and a cute story.

For me this is a 7 overall, not ward winning but definitely not bad. I enjoyed it and I hope you do too. Happy drama watching, everyone! :)

*Fantastic* drama.
Here's what you need to know:

- The first episode (the first half, especially) is hella weird, but it goes away in the second episode so don't worry about it. It just gets better and better and is simply *fantastic*.

- Happy ending (although it depends on which love interest you were rooting for).

- The screaming stops so don't worry about it (you'll get what I mean '^^).

- *Out of this world* acting for our male lead (like... I'm in *awe* to him. Acting like this I have... yet to see, anywhere).

- One of the very best OSTs - so very emotional and heartwarming :')

- Great character development (for all the characters) & plot that will keep you want to keep on watching. The plot is never boring, and I never once found it to be dragging. All I wanted to do was keep on watching (:

- HILARIOUS while keeps its romantic, sweet, and tragic/sad scenes so very emotional. You'll find yourself laughing and feeling for these characters so much.

- A unique concept that isn't usually dealt with (although they took more of a fantasy take on it, so don't expect it to be very accurate/medical).

- Just... watch it. Give it a try. Don't give up on this. It's... really... great.

This is actually one of the kind story there is no trailer for this but I did found some similar kind thing posted on yt anyway it caught my attention and we decided (me and my friend) to give it a go. Even if the movie is quite old and you don't expect much I was quite surprised with very outstanding and thought-provoking movie.

Story 9.0
it's very interesting and could be better actually the timeskips kinda weren't so pleasant since they were pointed out but it was part of developing story and it had to be there so things wouldn't be rushed. These days it's usual to guess timeskips because no one really writes on screen 'two weeks later' etc. I liked how there were sientific facts in there though because of my lack of English knowledge I didn't really understand some and just let the story flow haha

Acting/Cast/Music 10
There isn't anything to pick on, everyone did wonderful in this movie
soundtracks and music were great it fit the movie and I couldn't really get picky on that, they managed to send the message to the atmosphare there to us so no complains

Rewatch Value 9.0
I could see myself rewatching this year later or maybe two but not sooner let's just remind ourselves that this is an old movie and for its year it did wonderful but compared to movies these days it does lack action a little

Overall 9.5
Overall I really loved it, enjoyed it. I don't usually write reviews as you see I am not that good but it's sad to see that there isn't any in this movie, just want to tell people that this movie is actually worth it's time. Me and my friend talked a lot after this and it really affect our way of thinking, we questioned many things as I said it was thought-provoking which part I love to encounter  when I didn't really expect.

One of the best dramas that i ever seen in my life. I never got bored. I enjoyed every second of this drama.
The acting was great.
The story was unexpected and nonusual and funny and strange and romantic sometimes and dramatic.
It wasn't easy to watch it because it contains many deep thoughts so it's requires a high concentration watching it.
I highly recommend to everyone that wants to think and wants to sit in front of pc or laptop or tv unmoved for the entire drama.
