i only have good things to say for this drama
first of  all,  the 80's theme.  nothing could make me happier than 80's 70's theme and the music that comes along with it.  the cinematography is really good.
secondly, the story,  though it was simple and nothing complicated,  it brought out so many meanings..  like gender biased,  the korean society in 80's. the impact of cold war going in the whole world during that period.  communist capitalist clash.
thirdly, the cast..  they were really really good,  jung hee reminded us all of our high school crushes. loved her acting and her character as well.   the supporting characters were also very real.  from jung hee's mother to that aunty.
overall,  such a good drama..  cried and laugh.  i wish there were many other dramas like this.  i thoroughly enjoyed watching this one.
ah,  and lastly the music.  I'm already an 80's music fan,  and the background songs like the silence of the lamb  was so good.  i would highly recommend this drama

this drama started out so good.  the first few episodes were addictive. well to be exact the first four episodes, i was awed...  thought this was gonna be great,  the plot was also very interesting.   love the leads and the second lead cast.  the story is also good.  but then this drama  lost it's charm  by mid episodes, don't really know what happened to the writer,  went bad and and bad. and from then on i was just watching for the sake of finishing it.  not a bad drama but could have been better.
the soundtracks were really good though.

Really loved it ; but there are some episodes that story line is longer than necessary .
Thumbs up to both male and female leads acting skills.
Ji Sung became my favorite Korean actor :)
Hope he can save the last dance for me >LOL

Review wants me to write 500 characters ; but I am not good at this ; so you better watch yourself and see how hooked you will be come .

I liked Moorim School very much, actuallly i'm impressed. It shows all the aspects of an actual human being, it's not about the common fictional characters. They're wavering  about their feelings, their dark and bright side, their principles. Also, it shows the power of love, such as friendship, family, romance and conveys messages about trust and loyalty. As for the plot, it's quite clever, especially the main hidden story of the drama.  The daily interaction between students and teachers built a great story and the fantastic element was a nice touch .Needless to say that there were many plot twists. The first half part of Moorim School was mostly a teen drama and the second half more serious, i liked this contrast. Acting, cast, music were totally satisfying.
However, it's a bit confusing at the end. One character changed very abruptly and we didn't see the fall of some villains.
I strongly recommend this drama, if you'are looking for something real and touching. As for action and fantasy, sure there are a lot of scenes, but i think that's not the point of the story.

I see a big contrast between the reviews from Asian vs US (western) show watchers, especially for story. This may have something to do with the big culture difference.

Let's look at the Story first, I think the most touching and tortured character in this show is not the female lead (Hua Qian Gu), although she indeed suffered a lot physically. The soul and the most moving character in this show is the male lead character (Ba Zi Hua). Ba Zi Hua is portrayed as a godlike, statuesque man suffering so much, on so many different levels. While I agree that the story may lack some details or depth, the essential points are all in there.

The social or public level: You need to first understand the context of their “forbidden love”. While the story is certainly being told in a fantasy setting, let’s translate it into a more “realistic” setting, can you imagine someone like a Cardinal who fell for a nun in his convent, or something sort of like that? Then you may understand how publicly scandalous the situation would be, if their love is revealed. Ba Zi Hua has to be responsible for his “sect” or his community or his group of people. This sense of responsibility haunts him throughout the story.

The religious/philosophical level: Ba Zi Hua is on a quest for “immortality” for a journey of a thousand year old. Personally, I don’t understand why people seek “immortality”, but there are people like that and they certainly have my respect. If he accepts Hua Qian Gu’s love, it means that he has to step down from the shrine, give up the efforts of thousands of years, and go back to a mortal ordinary worldly life. If you are in Ba Zi Hua’s position, will you be willing to do so? That’s why he suffers from constant inner turmoil.

The emotional level: why Ba Zi Hua fell in love with Hua Qian Gu? It’s not because she is beautiful, sweet, kind, and spiritually strong. Of course, these characters certainly help, but what really gets him is the “innocent, pure, and unconditional love” she offers. She pours out her heart and soul, without asking or even expecting anything in return. She doesn’t care if he knows, acknowledges or returns her love, as long as he is being well, that’s all she has hoped for throughout the show. How could anyone (at least a mortal) resist something like that? So now you may understand how hard it is for Ba Zi Hua to control his emotion or feelings toward her. This is a very tough job!

The psychological level/concept of love: people have different understanding or different points of views in this matter. There is a big issue in the story, so called “Sheng-Si Jie” (life and death calamity). Hua Qian Gu is the life and death calamity of Ba Zi Hua. Or we can think in this way, she is the biggest “trouble-maker” for him. In general, when people try to deal with troubles, they get rid of the “trouble-makers”, this is exactly what Mo Yan did in his situation. However, Ba Zi Hua made a different choice, instead of killing her, as instructed by his own Master. With an inclusive and benevolent mind, Ba Zi Hua accepted Hua Qian Gu, took very good care of her, raised her up, taught her everything, and hoped that she would become someone like him. So in fact, it’s Ba Zi Hua who first offered the “unconditional love” to Hua Qian Gu, although this type of love has nothing to do with man and woman. Unavoidably, Hua Qian Gu has to grow up and the problem comes.

The sexual level: OK, the love between man and woman, the story deals with this issue in a very obscure way. There are hardly any scenes showing the sexual desire of Ba Zi Hua toward Hua Qian Gu. Maybe there is one such scene when they were in their Illusion and dressed up in wedding-dresses, he was leaning over and about to kiss her, although the illusion was eventually broken by his will power and nothing really happened. There are also a couple of scenes in the end (in the last few episodes), however, it looks like some scenes were cut and the emotional flow of the characters was disrupted. Anyway, one can imagine Ba Zi Hua, at some level, must also suffer from the troubling issue of sex and abstinence.

Now, you can see how difficult, sad and mad situation Ba Zi Hua got himself into.  While he suffered so much from all these different levels, yet, he cannot show anything (so called emotionless) or do anything. So the whole situation is entirely hopeless and desperately sad. In the end, this could become a really good tragedy but I guess a relatively happy ending would please more people who watch the show.

Acting: the male leading actor did an absolutely exceptional job at playing Ba Zi Hua. One has to pay more attention to the emotions released from his eyes since he cannot say or do anything. The female leading actor also did a wonderful job too! The other supporting actors are pretty good too, especially Dong fang and Sha Qian Mo.

Music: I enjoyed the music very much, reflecting the hopeless and desperate atmosphere of the show.

Re-watch values: I would not watch the whole show again, but I really enjoyed certain episodes and watched them again and again.

Overall: a superb fantasy show, not occurring in a realistic setting (of course), but it will touch your life deeply if you could understand it. It will also show you different point views of many hard-core values of life.

Story: 6.5
Very sad and emotional, although not always comprehensive. I got lost halfway through, but that is probably due to my limited understanding of the mandarin language. Still, some elements of the plot seemed rather forced and the backtracing was too confusing.

Acting/Cast: 9.5
The guy was not that much of a great actor, but, oh my, Ma Sichun and Zhou Dongyu were absolutely amazing.

Music: 9.0
It invoked the right emotions at the right time.

Rewatch Value: 7.5
I might rewatch it.

Overall: 8
If it weren't for the amazing main cast, it wouldn't have been that enjoyable.

Best variety show that brings smile to your face through each members love and connections with each other and through their silliness. Every episode is best. Have matched all the episodes more than one times. It is one hell of a show to watch. I would recommend it to every one really. Honestly you will love it so much. Really love this show. As you can tell now I have become a hard core fan of running man. Unconditional love to all the members and thank you for being you and making this hell of a show. Love from Canada!!

I watched it during a 10 hour flight on a plane. As I'm mostly into Korean and Japanese dramas and movies, this was my first Taiwanese movie actually. Reading the plot, it got me really hooked up and excited from the beginning. It's your typical coming-of-age  happy-go-lucky movie, where you can predict whom is going to end up with whom, how the story is going to unravel itself. Who doesn't love a good school romance about first love, bullies, rivals and the harsh education system? I've watched dramas and movies with the same theme over and over again, but this movie was definitely something special and will surely become one of my classic favorite Asian movies.
Not giving away the setting of the story too much, one of my favorite things was that the actual storyline is set somewhere in the 80s/90s, so the actual vibe felt very real. I think I enjoyed the chemistry and the growing relationship of the 2 main characters. The romance was super natural and made me chuckle at least 10 times during the whole film. Also, the actors were gorgeous to say the least.
Without much rambling, everything about this movie is splendid and enjoyable. If you are a sucker for lighthearted love stories, you'll definitely want to watched this movie. It's worth watching and I know that I'll be rewatching ir some time soon. Oh, you'll thank me later for this recommendation! <3

this drama is simply one of the best dramas i have watched till date...... this drama has got everything.....there are elements of laughter, romance, heartbreak.
you dont want this drama to end.... and they have got an amazing looking cast..... What else do you need....

i rated the rewatch value an 8 becoz this drama makes you cry like a baby(SIT WITH A TISSUE BOX),  and i dont usually like dramas that make u cry so , i cant watch this drama again....
This drama is a must watch........ if you dont like dramas that make you cry (like me) you should still try it out becoz the amazing chemistry between the lead cast and all the soft touching moments that make you skip a heart beat ,are a must watch and they make up for all the crying....

A lakorn much more similar to a Western soap opera than others I've seen. The cast is wonderful (I'm just a little bit in love with ToomTam...), but the material is lacking. This was the first lakorn I watched after finishing Full House Thai and being introduced to lakorns, and it got me hooked on lakorns in general. As far as the story goes, it's just plain ridiculous. Evil long-lost twin sister who gets her good sister in trouble, plot to steal the man, some villains that really have no clear motive. But we don't watch soap-operas for them to be realistic, I suppose. The characters are all extremely superficial. Toomtam is mean and sweet without any reconciliation between the two sides of his personality. Vill as the typical evil twin wears the typical red lipstick... The acting is great for the material given. Vill cries A LOT. As in, there isn't a scene where she isn't crying, except two, I think. I attribute everyone's over-the-top acting to the writing, not the actors. The actors portrayed the shallow characters as well as they could. ToomVill has SUCH great chemistry though, that's really what made this worth the watch. The soundtrack is lovely, but repetitive, as is the case with just about every lakorn I've seen (which is a lot). Lots of borrowed tracks from other dramas. But still pretty.I've rewatched the cute scenes over and over because ToomVill is so good together.Honestly, ToomVill is what I watched this drama for. Only their chemistry could get me through the far-fetched storyline and  shallow writing. Bottom line, I would recommend this lakorn to viewers if you want something that goes by fast because you skip so much of it.

My kind of story. The line by the female lead at the end was awesome
"I like you because you are so weak, so you need me"
It was a beautiful story haven't enjoyed a story this much since In Time With You
Rewatch Value is also immense.
The only part of the show that was a let down was the use of his powers
I expected him to be like Superman from Smallville and could hear the heartbeats and muffled crying of his significant other even if she was faraway from him
but then again, Smallville was done masterfully well, not many stories can compare.
Breezy and fun watch, lit up my day
Better than The Best Hit in my opinion

Firstly, I didn't hold much expectations for this drama when I saw it. I was a bit disappointed though. The acting was okay but I wouldn't say it was the best, and the story line was a bit confusing. I mean, I couldn't really understand what the drama was about and don't get me started on the ending. Do all dramas find it funny when they end on a cliffhanger, I mean seriously for once! I wan't to watch a drama that doesn't end in a cliffhanger.

The romance section for the drama was okay, though in the end I ended wanting Jason and Mi Jo to get together. Overall the drama was okay, I didn't like it much and I highly doubt I'd re-watch it. But I would recommend it to people who are interested in these types of dramas.

I KNOW SOME OF YOU MIGHT NOT READ IT CUZ IT'S SO LONG BUT HEY GUESS WAT, IDK WHY PPL DON'T LIKE THIS DRAMA  THAT MUCH LIKE ME
STORY:  10/10
The main thing that i really liked about the drama was the story and plot. Although, most people seemed to be confused and frustrated about it, I really enjoyed it and found it really thrilling and addicting because they always have BongPil travel through a different time through each episode (except for the last few eps). I really liked how one day he was a thug and the next day he was a high schooler or even-actually, I shouldn't put big spoilers , just in case hehe. Also, each time he travels though time, each episode, something new happens so we can never guess what will actually happen! I really luv how it toooo unpredictable!!

ACTING/CAST:  7.5/10
Okay, first thing, it's my first drama seeing Kim JaeJoong act and it was a blast! Idk how he acted b4 but I know I cried when he cried because of Soojin (in the last few eps). He's also reeaaalllll good-looking and cute^^ hehe Before, watching this, I wasn't a fan of TVXQ but after watching this......I think I'm a fan hehe( and i loved Pil's personality-it was entertaining to watch hiim). UEE's acting was okay but  Jinsook's acting was a bit awkward for me....but when I saw her cry....I wanted to cry as well haha.  Also, THEIR SQUADDDDD ARE FRIENDSHIP GOALSSSS lol

MUSIC:  5/10
umm.... the ost/music didn't really amuse me except for the sweet, happy song that played whenever pil and soojin were on a date or happily together :D

REWATCH VALUE:  9/10
I think I'll watch it again because of how thrilling it was. BUT only if I had time bc of how many good dramas there are these days e,g While you were Sleeping. I still think I'll watch it again but what I want most of all (  i don't think you guys would want it),.....is......A SECOND SEASON!!!!

I know my thoughts are scattered everywhere but do watch the film it was good even if it is painful.

I found this film good but of course not every body will have the same reaction to it.
There are things I don't like about it (teen pregnancy, rape, those who raped her not being caught) but the good outweighs the bad.
I know this can all happen in reality, plus it was supposed to be based on a true story, so it has happened already.

Some may say that it is too cliche or it is very unrealistic, but I guess that's how they are in Japan. Cultural differences. If it doesn't happen to you it doesn't mean it cannot really happen.
