If you're looking for action then this is the right place.

The action scenes in this series is really good. And the background music just hits on point. Soo Hee ofc nailed her role.

Plotwise the story is pretty much predictable. But if you see this as an action drama, it delivered it. There was enough blood shed to make me happy.

Park Hee Soon is a great actor. The dynamics between Moo Jin and Ji Woo was well written. Ji Woo riding her bike was a great pleasure to watch. I loved each and every scene of her bike riding.

Also I didn't want Tae Joo to die. May be end up in hospital but not dead.

Overall it's 8/10 for me.

Titular Character nailed it

●FIRST IMPRESSION
Kdrama always had tons of layers to its story. Initially, they will make you curious and with each episode, it gets more and more intense, suspenseful, and enjoyable loaded with humor and romance.

●PLOT VIEW
This drama had touched on some social issues like the single mother, same-sex relationship, rape in a delicate way. Although rape is touched superficially it makes me go teary-eyed. The life of a single mother trying hard to regain her lost status was commendable. But the most commendable is HO GOOS LOVE. There is a quote and it fits here perfectly “I Respect Any Man That Can Heal a Heart He Didn't Break and Raise a Child He Didn’t Make”
Ho Goos to stay beside the woman he loved, since school days even though everyone considered him a fool because of his name but he stays true to his love and follows what his heart says. Supporting the Do-DoHee and in every decision but also guiding her to the rights and wrongs is what made this story so special. Because in this love story ML is shown weak having a soft heart while FL is shown strong but has a feeble heart. They both were made to complete each other.

●ACTING
>Choi Woo Shik nailed his role as the titular character. I have always seen him doing comic characters but this drama showed what he can do. He evolves as a compassionate and silent romancer. He showed the character maturity which no one had seen.
>Uee as DoHee was strong physically but still needed a hand in the crowd. She portrayed the vulnerable girl nicely.
>Gang Chul was one of the fun persons to see and his dilemma towards HoGoo was humorous. He also had growth from mean to good person.
>Ho Gyeong is was a ticking bomb for me. Her one action almost changed the fate of these characters. And why be so biased about one look. Everyone looks pretty.

●MUSIC
It is nice but not memorable IMO. BGM was great although.

●REWATCH
I would love to see the goofiness of Ho Goo and his compassionate love. all of the Ho-Goo parts is actually is worth rewatching.

●APPRECIATION
>The animation scenes were precise.
>Ho Goos drawing book, he drew exceptionally well.

A well-written story of love, drama and suspense.

A well-written story that will keep you entertained until the very end. Flower Crew has drama, suspense, comedy, political intrigue, and romance that will make your heart flutter. Sometimes I read a negative review, and I wonder if that person even watched the same drama. So many people skip over and fast forward through episodes, then try to write a review as if they had some hidden awareness. Don’t make that mistake; every episode in this drama is essential. The story is well written, each episode building up to a grand finale. Subplots are all completed, nothing left to the imagination.

The acting was fantastic. Gong Seung Yeon’s portrayal of Gae Ddong/Yoon Su Yeon was the backbone of the drama. From the first episode until the very end, she pulled each character into her circle of excellence. Kim Min Jae as Ma Hoon matched well with her, as did the other ML Seo Ji Hoon, who played Lee Soo/Kim Soo, the King. In addition, dual villains kept everything exciting and provided enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The romantic story was perfect, with the flow of love between FL and ML building up the entire drama. If you feel sorry for losing ML, that tells me you didn’t watch the whole series. The chemistry wasn’t blazing, and the kisses were average, but the romance was over the top—a match made in heaven. Two people pushed together by fate find love under the most difficult of circumstances.

Overly dramatic considering the actual content.

I sadly have to say, the only things I enjoyed about this short BL were Kim Yoo Hwan’s performance and the set design for the café.

From the strong jealousy that can mess up a friendship that lasted 15 years, through the magical speed of learning how to cook, to uncomfortable skinship Ji Soo was doing, I am just confused. The overreaction on the character’s parts did not correspond well with what was truly happening on screen too.

Even though Cha Woo Min's acting was lacking, the chemistry between Hae Won and Eun Gyu was quite nice - the problem was the lack of development. They presented it as quite a strong connection and love, while they barely knew each other. Considering they are all adults, the scale of the problems that Hae Won’s pretty face brought to the café was ridiculous.

This whole “lost dad” story came out of nowhere, and felt like an afterthought. Even the dynamics between Ji Soo and Eun Gyu were simply confusing.

Truly felt blessed by Kim Yoo Hwan - he delivered the internal struggle so well, it was easily visible on the screen even without any dialogues.

Overall, I don’t really have thoughts. It’s just one of the shows that happened, I saw and then moved on. I feel like it could have been a really nice short BL if they toned down the dramatic aspects - it was not that deep.
Will be paying attention to Yoo Hwan’s future projects since he impressed me a lot.

Outstanding Cast But Too Much of a Polished Story

This series had so much potential but sort of spun its wheels in the sand. It is good and the actors and actresses are all outstanding. The story goes off on too many tangents that are unnecessary and they gloss over the real issues. That is unfortunate because this ensemble has some real acting skills that were never fully realized or used. If you tackle major issues in life, then be prepared to offer some major solutions. Not just cute endings. The dream sequence in this series should not have worked but for me, it did so. Maybe because of its allegorical theme to it.

didn't know i would love it so much..

WHERE DO I BEGIN???? This was an absolute masterpiece, definitely one of the best dramas in 2021, it was super worth the wait, ever since it was announced I was waiting for this. (I personally enjoyed this more than squid game, oops) EXPECTED FROM THE DIRECTOR OF EXTRACURRICULAR THIS WOULD BE GOOD AS WELL. If I have the option to give it a 11/10 I would honestly, I don't even know how to express how good this is LOL. Action-packed show, super fun super gore, filled with action fun and bloody scenes. PLS Sohee's ACTING HERE IS PHENOMENAL, I'm not even kidding, her acting is so top notch, she deserves nothing but all the awards she can get for this show alone, she didn't work so hard without a stuntman and risk her health just for nothing, because she really did so well, I never complimented someone's acting so much before but damn Han Sohee, she is just so good, really. The other actors did well as well. I won't say much about the stories and the plot twists here and there, the story alone looking from the synopsis, looks very common / original, nothing new, but please GIVE THIS A WATCH. Rewatch value is definitely a 10/10. My Name, lived beyond my expectations.

One of the Top Thrillers out this year

I was hooked on this drama from the trailer and it did not disappoint. I can say this will easily be one of the top thriller all time for me (and I have seen atleast 15 k-thrillers). Since it is directed by Extracurricular's director, I can see the resemblence in how there is a gruesome tinge and blood everywhere.
The best part was the strong female lead; the drama also slightly touches upon women in different male dominating industries. If I were to tag it : strong female lead, gangster, detective, mystery, gruesome, psychological, subtle romance, and twisted villain. One thing I really liked was how the drama is extremely balanced, with none of the sub-themes overpowering the others (you know how gangster dramas can be really cringey, this is not.)
The story for me was new but also predictable at the same time, (I guessed the killer in the 3rd ep) however, the details and mystery add a lot to viewer experience for this show. It has wintery vibes, giving the perfect chill to this drama.
Nothing could top the acting and I loved how the director gave so many more clues so we can draw our own conclusions alongside but it can get confusing at the beginning and trying to follow the cases at some places.
It is short so you can binge watch it in a day or night easily.
I'm definitely adding this to my top thriller recommendations for this year.

A cotton candy BL - sweet & fluffy with nothing substantial to it

Overall: if you want to see a ton of longing and jealous looks, gorgeous guys and like food, then this is the show for you. FYI the description on viki is not accurate as to how the plot plays out (you don't cook for someone that you hate). At only 8 episodes ~10 min each, it's very bingeable. I'm waffling between overall an 8 or 8.5.

Content Warnings: 1 punch

What I Liked
- the visuals
- the production value was good
- there were several sweet moments
- the funny moments , my new favorite way to tell someone their cooking is awful "it tastes new" haha
- I actually don't mind the common tropes like accidental fall, hurt/comfort, apron tying, drunk scene, etc.

Room For Improvement
- this is a 'love at first sight' situation which though common, isn't my favorite
- how the two guys were fighting over the other guy like he was an object and didn't have any say in the matter
- odd how the cook left his recipes and baby photos in his old apartment
- though I think it played out pretty mildly, love triangles aren't my thing

Squid Game?? More Like Death Games

Squid Game was truly something else. I expected a bunch of games, but did I expect everything that happened during and after the games? No, definitely not. This obviously needs a season 2 since the ending was kind of crappy. Don't get me wrong, the beginning and the show in general was excellent. However, I wish the ending was a little more developed.

Seong Gi Hoon was an interesting character. He was naïve of a sort, even though he was been through a lot. Even after what happened at the end, he continued to live his life the way it was before. Cho Sang Woo honestly did not deserve to last so long in the games. This man was dangerous and we couldn't even detect it. Kang Sae Byeok was the best character, hands down. She faced everything head-on which is something I want to do whenever I'm in the middle of a situation. Hwang Jun Ho was pretty irrelevant in my opinion because his purpose was to only find his brother who went missing. The hot thing about him was that he always used the words of someone whenever he was "violated". There's no closure about him, which I wish did happen. Hopefully in season 2, we'll get closure about him. Ali was too innocent in this drama. All he wanted was money for his wife and kid, poor guy couldn't even get anything, but he left his family a good amount. Oh Il Nam...I don't know, I have a confusing view about him. He treated the guys so nice, but at the end what he explained was messed up. Ji Yeong was also badass, her ending is undeserved, she deserved a second chance.

There's a bunch of other characters I would have reviewed, but meh it's whatever lol

The show is titled after a literal drug so don't come in with the greatest expectations

The first part was pretty innocent and refreshing, and this part is what I enjoyed the most. It was very reminiscent of Meteor Garden -- there is a rebel rich guy who has nothing better to do than bully the one he likes, and a spunky poor guy who just wants to live peacefully (plus points that he's smart too). Gu Hai and Bai Luo Yin's interactions and cat-and-dog banter are funny and their chemistry is undeniable.

Now the second part of the show which comprises of the last 5 episodes, is where the problematic parts have popped up. These have indeed made me uncomfortable and I personally like to pretend it does not exist lol.

Still, for the majority of the show that I thoroughly enjoyed, I'm rating this an 8.

How to Date Your Dean

I wasn’t sure to start watching this series or not because most of the comments I’ve read were not favorable. After one episode, it seemed watchable. The plot is rather simple and straightforward, the villain is revealed to the viewers very early in the story, Zhao Lusi is still Zhao Lusi – silly and cute, and the story is non-original with the-hero-gets-the-girl-and-the-bad-guy-vanquishes. In other words, it’s cliché and tropey. Nonetheless, I find Zhao Lusi’s cuteness irresistible.

This is a story of a girl enters a boys-only imperial college and becomes the first ever female graduate from the college. In the process, she makes her dean fall in love with her, giving the viewers a tabooed romantic relationship of a student with a member of the school faculty. At the same time, it also tries to advocate equal educational opportunities for all girls and boys regardless of their family status.

Sang Qi (Zhao Lusi) is said to be different from all the other girls. Growing up at the frontier, she is unrestrained, playful, active and intelligent. Zhao Lusi has everything this character requires. Similar to her previous drama in “The Romance of Tiger and Rose”, Zhao Lusi’s character is still the “Sha Bai Tian” (silly, fair and sweet) character with more bravery, smartness and chivalry this time. Many viewers criticize her for playing the same type of character again and again. For me, it is of course ideal if an actor is given the chance to play a different character so that she/he can widen her/his skills and scope. But on the other hand, this type of character is what Zhao Lusi is best at, probably more so than other actors, giving viewers an excellent and natural performance here. As in most of Zhao Lusi’s dramas with similar roles, she stumbles easily, gets herself all over her man, kissing him unintentionally (or intentionally?), making him fall in love with her, and she him (roll eyes).

Yan Yun Zhi (Xu Kaicheng) is the Dean of the Imperial College. He’s good looking and has a cool demeanor. He tries to be serious but with Zhao Lusi around, who can? I quite like the Yan Yun Zhi character and Xu Kaicheng’s portrayal. However, I find his expression overly joyous as he seems to grin at Zhao Lusi all the time. This, to me, doesn’t fit his supposedly stern and solemn character very well, after all, he’s supposed to be a teaching faculty that garners respect and admiration from his students and other teaching staff. Other viewers feel Xu Kaicheng is not totally suitable for costume dramas.

Comes the antagonist, Zhuo Wen Yuan (Ren Hao) who is Sang Qi’s childhood friend when they both lived at the frontier. He is intelligent and a valedictorian in the Imperial College, at the same time he is a complex and vicious schemer. This is actually my favorite character. Ren Hao has that angelic face that can turn devilish in an instant. His acting is commendable.

My Verdict

This drama has a predictable storyline, slapstick humor, and a dog blood script. The lack of attention to details is blatant (viewers can spot production team members in the scenes, etc). The conversations are comedic. Similar to Zhao Lusi's other rom-coms, this drama is entertaining if you want something to give you a good mood and to laugh about. Don't be too critical and don't take it too seriously. It's not meant to be serious. Acting wise, both main leads and especially the villain are good. The supporting cast is good too (super hilarious).

Despite all the flaws, I have rather enjoyed this light-hearted series.

Now I get why this got tons of people through the pandemic

I have to admit I've avoided this show for the longest time because reviews aren't the kindest, but I roughly heard about it because it was very famous where I'm from and even my friends who don't watch or even know BL have watched this. That being said, I had the lowest expectations for this show and only got to it when I had nothing else to watch.

And I actually really enjoyed it! While this is not as groundbreaking as one would expect from all the hype (tbh I don't think it's meant to be one anyway), it's not that bad. Granted the acting was pretty weak especially for Bright (not for Win though, he was really good), but everything else works. The plot is simple, the actors are a feast to the eyes, the comedy is golden, the music is PERFECTION, and the skinship is not over the top. It's definitely a pick-me-up whenever you're in a bad mood and has indeed become something I was looking forward to after a stressful day. Now I get why people latched to this during a difficult and unfamiliar time such as the pandemic.

Enjoyable, but not groundbreaking.

Realistically speaking, I knew where the plot was going since episode 2. I did not mind it and I was ready for an exciting ride. While it was entertaining, the show lost me a few times.

Plot wise, I’d say that’s the glow-up I enjoy watching - when with a new hairstyle come deadly skills and not rich boys. Yoon Ji Woo’s story is quite a chaos filled with questions: who did what, why and what will she do about it? We follow her on the journey of discovering the truth behind her father’s death, which became her sole life mission. Observing her trying to fit into two completely different worlds - crime driven gangs and justice and revenge driven police, made me binge watch the whole show in one sitting.

Honestly speaking, none of the characters had true depth, nor novelty to them - I’ve seen them in similar stories. You know what the characters will do, before they do it. That said, it does not take away from the entertainment value. Action genre was never a plot focused deal for me, I just want to get my blood boiling with fun fighting scenes, countless backstabbing and revenge. My Name delivered in these aspects fairly well.

The strength of Han So Hee’s performance were her physical abilities - the fighting scenes looked really good. We could see her using the skills she learned at the beginning throughout the show. While she nailed the action, some of her emotional scenes fell flat and I could not connect to her character.

Park Hee Soon served us an outstanding performance. It’s not often for me to feel bad, or rather feel anything towards a character like Moo Jin. For making me feel things, I thank Hee Soon.

Production wise, it’s Netflix, of course it’s good. Personally, I didn’t like some of the editing, especially around the training and the undercover beginning - it was too much too fast. There were also some weird choices made by making the camera go out of focus in some scenes.

Truly enjoyed the soundtrack. Just a few notes made me feel excited and ready for some bloodshed. They perfectly supported what was happening on screen, elevating the overall quality.

So, what did not work out? Not enough backstory of Ji Woo’s father. We did not really get to see him do much, either in terms of his daughter nor his work. Some flashbacks here and there are not enough for me to understand why he was such an important figure in so many people’s lives. He was the catalyst of the whole plot, but at times I didn't quite understand why.

Some turns the plot took were truly ridiculous and brainless. “Okay, it makes no sense” was the only response I could give. Some plot lines - unnecessary. I hoped the writing would emphasize more on the internal conflicts Ji Woo felt - girl was dealing with a lot.

The ending was so mediocre I could not stop myself from feeling disappointed. It’s not an open ending, but since they did not really explain many aspects surrounding Ji Woo, it felt like it. The plot is finished, there is not much that could potentially be explored in another season, so what now? Why couldn’t they give some proper closure?

Overall, I loved the fighting, the connection between Ji Woo and Moo Jin and their dynamics, the visual aspects of the show and the performance. The writing could be a bit more polished - cut some parts out, develop some more. Would recommend it if you feel like watching an action flick and want to be entertained. If you are looking for more, you might be disappointed by the plot.

Plot Twist after Plot Twist after Plot Twist but Predictable

I love how light this drama was but I got tired with its endless “predictable plot twists” towards the end.

The story was okay but got dragged towards the end. The plot could’ve been done better. I hope they just do it with 24 episodes.

The special effects were bad in some parts especially that one scene in the last episode. If you finished the drama, you know what I’m talking about. It’s so obvious! Epic fail.

I love the casting. I’m a big fan of Zhao Lusi so I enjoyed her performance here. I have no complaint. Sang Qi is so dumb but I loved it!

I liked Xu Kaicheng in Well Intended Love but honestly, at some parts I can’t sense the chemistry between them. I perceive him as a big brother for Zhao Lusi lol. I mean, I’ve seen other dramas where the ML was a teacher but still the chemistry was okay, here was kinda off. And at times, I hate it when Xu Kaicheng was making strange expressions. I can’t describe it. I just cringe everytime he does that. Going back to the chemistry, to be fair, some of their scenes had spark but still, not okay to me overall.

I’m so happy to see Ao Rui Peng here! I love him in Poisoned Love! I hope he will have a drama with Zhao Lusi in the future! They really have good chemistry!

Other cast was okay but didn’t focus on them that much.

The best thing about this the drama are the OSTs! Omg! I can’t describe how addicted I am with the OSTs especially the one in the opening credits. I usually skipped opening credits in other dramas, but this is the first time I didn’t skip the opening credits in a drama.

Overall, it was good. Nothing really special about it and it’s okay for one-time watch.

If you’re into light dramas with cute cast and happy ending and didn’t care much with its predictable storyline then it’s for you.

This is my Review only on the BL and GL episodes and I’ll give them all combined like 8/10 :

EP.1 Would You Be My Love was really good I give it like 8/10 or 8.5/10, it might be short and doesn't have that much details but the acting and the storyline in general is pretty good and also I like that is it has an open ending but still you know that they are going to be together, also I like that they bring the idea of how the lack of communication can cause you to not be able to connect with the person you love the most for a while and make your relationship in a hard situation, in general it's pretty good yeah it lacks a lot of details but still pretty good that you are going to enjoy just watching this one episode of it, but please be warned there is bullying scenes and also know that you'll feel it’s not enough of SantaEarth wish is really sad, they need their own series their chemistry is pretty good.

EP.3 Remember it had a really good start I like Sammy’s and Pineare’s acting but like what the hell was that plot twist for it just destroyed the story and like I just got pissed off and like what is the reason to destroy Pineare’s character like that, lord I just got frustrated toward the ending while was I exited to see how it’s going to end, also like why give the ex-boyfriend so much screen time like the story doesn’t need this , I give it 7/10 and I am pretty disappointed with ending.

EP.4 Once Upon A Time, this is the one I was really excited for since I love BounPrem, The acting is amazing as always you could see the emotions on their faces and how each one of them is feeling without even talking, but it is a really sad story like why did it has to be like that I was waiting for something happier, the story is so realistic that it hurts as it talks about a real problem that same-sex couple usually face, but you will feel satisfied in the end I give 9/10 or 9.5/10 even I think it’s perfect without the scene in the middle that doesn’t make any sense and didn’t even add anything to the story and none of the characters talk about it again so I think it was just Mek’s friend imagination, it was lovely especially the scene between Prem (Balloon) and Earth (Ozone his brother) and the scene between Boun (Mek) and his friend, I love it.

EP.6 Vs Love was really good I enjoyed the story and how it was written and acted you can see how both actors have grown since their last BL drama you won't be disappointed if you watched this episode you will see how and when did they start to get attached to each other and where their feeling started to grow, what will make you a little bit is like how you wished there was more but it was just like one episode and that's it I'll give it like 8.5/10 or 9/10, to not spoil anything I'm not going to get in details about the story but there are parts were you will be like how can both of those siblings not fight at all like I have a brother and we always fight and they're like twins who love each other always and like support each other and everything so this was a bit unrealistic for me but like I let it pass through cause they were cute and also the idea of like Phupha’s family not believing him and his father always like treating him badly it triggered me, so this was like another thing that was stuck in my head, one of the scenes that I really liked was the one where Tonnam if I know that truth then I'm going to fight for it till it is found like you ,yeah I like this part.
