Goblin is really one of the best drama out there !
The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful and the cast is amazing.
It's funny and sad and cute and much more.
The plot is sooo smart and poetic. The way it is filmed is like a movie, it's so wonderful !
There's no word to describe how much i love this drama !

If you enjoyed Goblin, then definitely you'll like BOTWG. In both:
- Hero is a "god" who suffers from a curse. He had a tragic past.
- Heroine is his human bride and tries to help him to lift the curse.
- Both are about the struggles of the main couple to get together.

both are supernatural historical dramas..with a blending of past and present

both have 2 love stories
1-warrior and person from the present.
the love of warrior is pure platonic one with lot of understanding..and he is always try to protect his girl
and the couple always try to overcome their difficulties together
2--king and queen
the love b/w king and queen had lot of misunderstandings though they love each other a lot...

both have bromance b/w king and warrior and the warrior was very loyal to the king

both have good friendship b/w two leading female characters and help each other to develop their love and all..

both have people who are jealous of the warrior and plotting against him and try to brainwash the king

But the theme of the story is completely different

cuz in faith its just one girl who time travels to the Goryeo era..
and in goblin many people from that era come to the 21st-century in different ways..

I feel like there is little mention of the romance but honestly, it's kind of creepy. And this isn't even so much the age difference, I mean yes the fact that he's like 1000 years old and she's 18 is definitely pushing it but she's also quite immature. When I watch her gawk in a childish manner and acting cute, I look at him with his longing looks and the first thing I think is brah, get the hell away from her. I feel like his cuteness is what is making this not creepy for people but maybe because I am not into him, I just get the creeps.

Yes, her bubbly character didn't fit with Goblin's, though it's fun to watch but with those hundred ages gap they both already had surely didn't make it less creepier.
Maybe if ET's character is described more as a mature serious woman (after those hardships she had) who suffered & Goblin is her last string of hope & deepened their bonding by only having eachother it will give more impact to the romance & show more chemistry

I dont like the romance between the main couple either. They just dont go together in my opinion, he seems so mature and she is so childish. I wish they had not chosen the female lead to be a high school student.

honestly I would've liked it too if she weren't a high school student. It's just a little too much! Starting with a second college student would've been better!

    That borderline pedo romance though...lol
It's like a trend now. Anyways, it's sometimes fun thx to Grim-Gob couple and sometimes sad, especially ep. 13.
    I'm curious about the ending.

I have a question. He got the power to see people's future after he became a goblin right. Then how could he see the present day teacher when he was alive?

yeah, he was made a goblin 20 or 30 years later, so it was still a similar era I guess.

I would so badly need to see Gong Yoo in a rom-com series. No hardcore drama, just simply a romantic comedy series where his love interest someone closed to his age

Before ep 13, I told myself: "It's okay, I'm almost 30 years old, it's just a drama, I will be strong enough", but of course I was wrong. :') I cried like a baby and my heart is broken. TnT I don't think that I ever needed a happy end that much as I need it now.

I skipped from ep 5 to 13 and it honestly feels like I missed nothing! I also feel would have been a better story without the goblin's wife as she is really not adding much to the story. Her character leaves a lot to be desired. I am also not sure if I should find it creepy that he's like 799 western age and she's 18. It's made them a tough relationship to swallow. He at times just makes me feel like he's fatherly especially when he strokes her head and she calls him ahjussi. It just feels very fatherly. They don't have the chemistry of a couple. That is the first kiss scene where I've just cringed.

While I do agree the romance isn't selling itself to me here and I'm not in for the romance at all (neither of the couples except for Grim Reaper & Goblin). But that is the exact reason why I find this drama good, because it has never happened before that I'd enjoy a Kim Eun Sook's drama regardless of the "romance". Her dramas only offered romance so if someone would've told me that I'd be enjoying a KES drama while disregarding the romance I would have laughed... after The Heirs and DoTS I just thought this writer won't buy her way back to me again but Goblin is her way back indeed. She promised something different and she so far has kept her promise, it has different vibes while keeping her cheesy elements intact and still being a rom-com with slight melo. It's not a masterpiece, it has draggy moments and filler eps and I'm not into the romance at all but I love the "efforts" spent on it in an attempt to make it different in every way possible even the atmosphere. I appreciate it and I appreciate how fun and interesting the characters are. Goblin is as deep as the writer can go without going astray from her typical writing style.
If you skipped all those eps, then it's pretty obvious that it's not your cup of tea there is no point in watching something you don't enjoy, well at least for me. This is just my view and to each his/her own :)

Yeah, agree, I stopped watching at ep 6 because of those reason you've mentioned above. The story got draggy with too many fillers & the whole that 900years old Goblin fallin' in love for the FIRST TIME with an 18th years old girl doesn't make anysense to me while their builded up romance doesn't even that deep. But Idk, maybe because am lowering my expectation with this writer since am so dissapointed earlier with DOTS (for having no plot) I find it's still a good drama though it's overrated to me. I was expecting a timeskip to ET's 29 years old age so their romance supposed to be more well balance unlike the way I see it rightnow which like an uncle-cousin relationship, sadly they didn't give that yet till the current ep 13. I know Kim Go Eun is a great actress, it's just for me her character doesn't fit in with the Goblin rightnow thus reflected to me as no chemistry & I blame the writer for that, but well, maybe it's only me considering many people love to see them together, while I cringe, hehe.

The thing though is that Goblin isn't really a deep story. What is one of the most important aspects of the story ends up being wall paper and we are all dragged through unnecessary waters to get there. At one point, I was wondering when will everything get revealed and that was when I was like on ep 4. Would they sell us bromance for the next ten episodes and pretend there is a plot here? Honestly, this story could be told in six episodes. Eight if we're being generous. On that note, I had no idea this is a KES drama and when you mentioned that, I was like, gosh, everything makes sense. Especially the female lead. I said yesterday, she was a recycled type of character because she is literally the stereotypical female lead in all KES dramas.

Agree. I skipped episode 6-9. Only watched 10-12. He seems very fatherly to her. Anyway from 10-12 the plot is good, yes, i also hope there is no romance about the goblin's bride is much better, u know, if only she is there only for the purpose to draw the sword, without the romance. the rest of the story is interesting and good. If it's a movie or mini series (4 episodes), it will be much better. Too many flashbacks to add more screen time and repetitive scenes between main couple from ep 3-6. The chemistry between goblin and grim reaper is much better and i do enjoy watching them.
