I wanna start by saying I don't get why people are lashing on this minidrama for being cliche-ish. Well... it's written in the synopsis what the story is all about and if you guys don't read it beforehands, I do. Expecting a drama not to be cliché is like expecting to breathe just fine on the moon or something - all of them have a heavy load of clichés we are all tired of seeing. It isn't different with this show although I find High End Crush to be refreshing. I believe all romcom dramas could be well shrunken down to a 20-episode minidrama like this one otherwise they'll feel draggy, way too melo and boring at some point. This doesn't happen here. Rather than being frustrated yelling "Just kiss already!", I found myself anticipating what his next mistep was going to be.
Good laughs, good laughs... these are rare these days and this show provided me some. The broship going on is also wonderful and funny, you don't feel the need to know their background, there's no rude parenting interruptions or third party's. As for the acting, since this is supposed to be a comedy, the cast is allowed to run it smoothly and whatever would be considered "terrible acting" on serious dramas, is fine in this one. This is my first time watching Il Woo though and I'm completely fallen aback by his skills and charisma. (In the picture below he looks terribly like Park Shin Hye, lol - but in the drama he resembles Lee Jongsuk, I think.)
Perhaps it was the lack of melo that made me enjoy this, I don't know, but I simply loved it! I'm not biased for any of the cast members but I must admit I started this for Monsta X (and got terribly disappointed on that part but.... oh, well.) yet here I stand, in love with the drama. Lee Shieon is amazing and endearing, by the way, pay attention to him.

This drama has made a serious impact on my life. It made me rethink a lot of things. The story was absolutely beautiful and totally overwhelmed me. The trauma they have and the way the actors portrayed this was heartbreaking.
I honestly am just writing this review to talk about Junho. He made me cry, laugh and love him. The scenes in which he just breaks down, because of the trauma, they were heart wrenching in a very good way. He is an amazing actor, and even those words are not enough to express how amazing he was to me. He broke my heart, mended it, stepped on it and healed it again. He is honestly the best actor I have seen in any film, from South Korea or anywhere else.
I would recommend this drama to anyone, the story was entertaining and beautifully heartbreaking. The way the characters develop is just a down to earth and an original portrayal in my opinion. To me, the characters were in sync with reality, which made me love them even more.

Cute couple, silly humor and lots of fun

I was probably one of the few who loved this drama so much. It's really silly, shallow and even childish, but it's a lot of fun. It's a light-hearted drama with slapstick humor that's good for distracting yourself without thinking too much.
ML and FL are very cute together, both have shortcomings and aren't the most intelligent people, so to speak hahahaha
In my humble opinion, this is probably the FL most wronged by the public on this site that I've seen so far. A lot of people hating on her for whatever she did but I realize that no one ever tries to see her side. She's a teenager (it's not said how old she is, but I don't think she's older than 15 or 16) who's been pampered and protected by her family all her life, she acts very much like a teenager: she doesn't want to be bossed around, she doesn't care much about anything that doesn't revolve around her, she's inconsequential, impulsive and thinks she can do whatever she wants. If you see her for what she is, a teenager who wants to avoid an arranged marriage at all costs, you won't find the things she does so absurd or evil.
And unlike what many people thought, it's clear to me how much she's grown over the course of the drama.
The pace of the story is really strange, there are many episodes with FL still infatuated with SML, from the rhythm it seems that it would be a drama with about 50 episodes. The revelations and solutions to the problems were accumulated for the last 6 episodes, which ended up being a bit rushed.
In short, a cute main couple with a lot of chemistry, especially when it comes to comedy. By the way, the actor who plays ML is extremely charismatic. I also liked the friendship between FL and SFL. It's just SML who's so dull, always looking constipated and gloomy.
Finally, I suggest you ignore the low ratings and harsh comments and try to watch it and come to your own conclusions.

Same Formula, Better Actors & Wu Lei Can Have Chemistry w/a Pet Rock.

Watched this solely because I follow Wu Lei and wanted to see both badminton and tennis on a more prominent scale as someone who played both in her youth albeit not professionally. This series was very nostalgic to me because of both of those. Was this show fresh otherwise? No. I've seen at least one other drama very much like this; in other words same formula, better actors & Wu Lei can have chemistry with a pet rock.

Pros: I loved the fact that SC played by WL, essentially played someone his own age but as a ridiculously old soul. Very rarely did his character actually act his age or younger. At the same time because of his love for FL which developed fairly early on, he carried their world on his shoulders all on his own volition. Every goal he set for himself, he met and never backed down. It was awesome to see WL take his character seriously and really train himself for the challenges of tennis. He's already an athlete but this was a different skill set and it was great to see him and the other tennis playing actors be so serious with that. I actually really enjoyed watching all of their training sessions as much as the rest of the story. The FL or LYA was also one who stood her ground. I liked their funny and cute moments but save their "one night stand" when she royally screwed up the next morning, SC's eyes always sizzled when he looked at her in their times alone but hers always had the same gaze. I wish she could have emoted the romance more once that got started, considering her character was a 30 plus year old woman. My only real minus in their chemistry. The comedy though was able to cover for what was lacking there.

All of their friends and colleagues like LN, AN, CZ, DY, JJJ, his mom, Alex, even coach unorthodox evolved from a solid douchebag to someone rather likable and his two assistants and though thankfully she didn't have a lot of solo scenes LT was alright too. I really loved the OSTs, they all fit accordingly. The storyline was split down the middle for me; half of it was great and really had terrific substance while the other half was a mess and I'll discuss that below. The good portion of the storyline was the evolution of each character including the growth of friendships where anonymity started in the beginning ie SC and JJJ. Or when the spoiled rich kid started to understand what being the opposite was like. The final closure for SC, AN, and his mom, getting passed and through trauma both psychological and physical. Most of the trauma was bore by SC though we saw a bit of it on LYA and her parental relations. Switching from badminton to tennis was a great main focus and should have stayed essential to most of the plot and then moved onto now as a professional tennis player, let his story move upwards. This is where, unfortunately we visit the cons.

Cons: The other half of the story was focused on so many problems that were chucked primarily at SC it got to be too much. Or other characters and their plots were rushed through like their asses were on fire, it was unnecessary. Though I understand the point was to show people getting through difficulties, they still didn't need to bring so much junk in. Especially with the company Young Space and its antagonists who never got any real resolution in the end. They were just left hanging. After LYA opened Top Smash that should have been the last time we heard of Young Space or their BS, but no they kept being dragged through with their problems, demands, making things harder for our leads because why? There were no other company they could work with? I understand the need to show the divorce of boss Jiang and his wife but later on with that other asswipe in the company; it was a constant hamster wheel of unnecessary problems. The wild card thing, possible doping scandal, rumors of love affairs and bastard kids, the constant lying and using by boss Jiang and basically everyone at Young Space, signing a deal with the devil, then being accosted when training for crap promotions, only way to get away from the Devil is to go train in Europe (just like in Falling into You and I never compare dramas) and separate the leads for two years after which they decided to get married in the last 5 minutes of the last episode.

Though it was a good touch in the psychological scheme of things, medically they got this wrong; phantom pain only exists after an amputation or if a person is born without a limb or body part, not if something is torn like ligaments, tendons, muscles, etc. the body part will swell, ache a lot, may require further surgery but there's no phantom pain. Really wish they did better research on that part. I looked it up myself as I've had a torn tendon in the past that thankfully didn't require surgery thanks to a top orthopedist but I've never ever heard of any variation of this having phantom pain especially not from him.

Couple number two aka JJJ and LT had zilch chemistry. They were just thrown together for the heck of stretching out the story; everything for them was missing. She was like an overly peppy cheerleader even when she was giving her best RBF and he was essentially bored or annoyed through all of their times together. Keep them separate and it wouldn't have looked any different. At least coach unorthodox and LN had real comedy and no one pushed them together. The other two were just there to be there. Lastly, just like there wasn't any resolution with the antagonists, same went with the parents of LYA and LT, the cancer arc was very predictably chucked in towards the end and then it was just as quickly forgotten; only good thing was that LYA and her mom worked out their differences. The ending was all over the place and very rushed but a happy ending for basically everyone that mattered anyways. Granted the after cut to black part and their after getting married hair cutting scene was too funny but the ending still could have been better.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Though there were a lot of issues with this series storyline wise, I wanted to come back everyday and watch the two episodes plus purchased the express so I did enjoy it very much. Take from that what you will.

Healer was one heck of a drama! Who knew it would happen so fast! I found another great drama, greater or on par to I Hear Your Voice. For the sake of my sanity, I'm just going to say I now have two favorite dramas. I Hear Your Voice and now Healer! Safe to say Healer was a, "Knock out!"

Fair warning you need to pay attention to the first two episodes! The story moves so fast you need to keep an eye out for names. There's two storylines going on. The present, and the past. Which are interwoven throughout the drama.The first two episodes do this cool overlay affect so that the younger versions of the older present day characters can be recognized. It's just a bit rough at first but the rest is masterfully done. Healer moves at an incredible pace and never leaves any room for slow episodes. No fillers here!

I found out that Healer was written by the same person who wrote Faith! Song Ji-Na is her name, and the lists of dramas is long. I've only watched Faith, so I don't know what her past writing is like. However, this is definitely cleaner and even better than Faith. (Judging from the ratings on MDL Healer is one of her top rated shows.)

The best part is that Healer is huge on characters and their developments. It balanced the present day characters so well. Seeing everyone's backstories revealed each time was awesome. Everything isn't revealed at once. Letting you truly get to know the characters and personalities. The slow reveal of the past was perfect and the flashbacks never bogged down the storyline. I wanted to know what happened in the past, and for the first time I was actually bummed when the snippet of the past was over. It was all written in such away to give Healer an excellent mystery. Not to mention that side characters--whether villains, comedic reliefs, henchman, and good guys--weren't just left to being stereotypes. Sometimes they only got small backstories or character development, but it always worked. Some key characters I loved were Min Ja an amazing, Kpop fan who happened to be Healer's hacker and boss. Oh, and the "Lackey" girl who helps Healer out. Yeong Shin's father and "Uncle". There are so many more, but this is already getting long.

The plot was great. Everyone had a role to play. Moon Shik was an excellent villain. He wasn't fully black and white. He was delusional about the things he did, and would do. The whole cast of villains are that way. It was refreshing to see how everyone could be a puppet if they let it happen. To see the mystery play out and see this elaborate game being played between the Elder and Healer. Bravo. I'm being very vague, but I think that's important going into this show. Just know that it's an action, comedy, thriller, romance, and mystery! (Plenty of mysteries.)

Healer was great. At times he made questionable decisions, but that happens in dramas. The important part was I could see why he did it. Ji Chang Wook as Jung Hoo, AKA Healer, was perfection. He donned the role so well. From playing the professional Healer, to himself as Jung Hoo, quirky Bong Soo, and whom ever he needed to be. The Night Courierr concept was so much fun! I loved that he decided he needed to discover himself when he "woke up". He wasn't just some brooding male love interest. In fact, he made me smile a lot. He was polite and thoughtful. Treated his leading lady right.

Speaking of Yeong Shin the leading lady! I actually got a lot of warnings about needing to give her about 2 episodes before I'd like her. Not in my case. I loved Yeong Shin immediately! She was a fun, confident, and perky character. Sure she gets to be a damsel, but that happens with dramas. What I could believe was the situations. Yeong Shin is a fighter and she's strong. It could have been annoying that violence makes her have panic attacks, leaving her unable to breath. But with her background it fit perfectly. Even with the lightness of the show Yeong Shin's past in the foster care system was tragic and heart wrenching. I enjoyed seeing how all of these things made her into such an amazing person. If something stresses/scares her she thinks about it and dances it off. I mean she goes out and gets it done! Whether it's a news big story that the "Man" will try to punish her for. Or going out and getting her man. I mean she says this to the man she loves:

"If you send me away . . . you'll cry forever."

Jung Hoo and Yeong Shin have the best chemistry ever! Not only that but they're believable. The whole romance. What I love is there unwavering faith in each other once they get to know each other. Jung Hoo wants Yeong Shin to ask questions, to know him. Most importantly they don't let things go unsaid. Jung Hoo and Yeong Shin are one of my all time favorite couples. Not to mention that they get real, sexy kisses. Oh, and some skinship. (Which I will not spoil. Just know that it is there.) These two had the most amazing morning after and I rewatched it so many times. These two are so comfortable with each other, everything feels natural. There's this scene where Jung Hoo talks about what will happen when he reveals himself to Yeong Shin. He knows how she will react, and never doubts that she will accept him. It was amazing, and they both know each other so well that they can do that. But they're still getting to know each other. Watching them originally fall in love is beautiful. Watching them learn more about each other and fall in love just ruined me.

On to other things now.

Was the music good? Heck yeah! I bought the soundtrack at episode 8. Without even listening to the album previews!! Or finishing the drama.

I didn't really address it but everyone's acting was on point. One of the villains, the butler who smirks, was a little anime at times. Smirking and cover his slyness with a hand! Between this amazing script and the talent of the cast everything packed a punch.

Healer should be a dark story, but the writing creates this perfect balance. Dramatic dirty politics and secret organizations! The shocking murder of a friend, suicide, lost children, and plenty of lies! A moving romance! Plenty of laughs and great humor. There's so much going on and it amazes me how well it's all balanced. Don't be nervous about this being dark. I spent most of my time riding adrenaline rushes from the amazing action scenes, romance, and humorous moments to ever feel bogged down. Don't get me wrong Healer will also wrench your heart and put you through the ringer. When this drama is over you'll be going "Again! Again!" (No really I flirted with the idea of starting it up right after the last episode.)

I have finally seen the highest grossing film in Thailand and I do not regret seeing it at all! I have heard so many great things about Pee Mak and they were all true...

Lets start with the story. Honestly, I have never seen a plot like this before. While reading it, I thought the film would be something different and it really was. Thankfully, the movie was not tragic (because there was mention of the army) and there was loads of comedy. I must admit, part of why I held off on watching this film for a while is because one of the genres of the film is 'horror'. I am scared easily, but thankfully the horror is this movie was mostly stupid/funny horror, a.k.a the type that I actually like! For that reason, the film was very fun to watch!

The acting in this film was great! The four villagers were very funny and always made great jokes. I especially loved the bit about organic food! Mak was very cute and Nak was hilarious, while spooky at the same time. The actors were chosen well too. This was my first time seeing Mario Maurer act and he definitely did a great job (he was good looking too)! Davika Horne is also gorgeous and a great actor as well! I dont know the names of the villagers, but they were a pleasure to watch!

There was not a lot of music used in this film. Although, the music used to set the mood always fit the scene properly. As well, this movie is definitely good enough to rewatch if you want to see something funny and slightly romantic at times.

Overall, if you want to see something silly or just want to familiarize yourself with Thai films, this is a great choice!

Hi, this is my first review so I hope to do well.

This is one of the best dramas I've seen, I enjoyed all the ride without getting bored for a single moment, the story in this drama is constant: Ethic versus impact, how a reporter should give news.

The characters are very likeable, Lee Jong suk makes a great job as Choi Dal Po/ Ki Ha Myeong always wondering how to act should he surrender at the revenge or on the contrary keep on with his life and act according to his principles.

Cho In Ha /Park Shin Hye, she is an adorable character, always sincere, good hearted, and of course strong, very strong. I really love that she is not a clumsy and crybaby girl as we usually see in other dramas, if she has to criticize you, she'll do it, if she has to ask forgiveness, she'll do it too.

Seo Bum Yoo/ Kim Young Kwang: The second male, I love this character, If you think that he is the typical rich and evil jerk who wants to destroy the main couple, well think again, not this time, he is not an ornament, he has his own battle to fight.

The music was awesome too, it reflects perfectly the emotions in this drama, love, sadness, anguish, comedy and best of all, they don't abuse the music to provoke tears.

Overall Imression: Another great work of Jo Soo-Won and Park Hye-Ryun (director and writer), I expected no less from the creators of "I Hear your voice" (another masterpiece).
If you want to see a realistic drama this has to be your choice, the development of the characters is brutal and when you think you know how this story will end, bumm another plot twist.
REPEAT: IT'S A MUST SEE

Best Detective Drama in Chinese History...

Watching this drama is the best decision I have made as it is so much better than I expected.This is probably the best drama I have watched recently.
Here are my opinions on this drama:

Story: Story follows a beautiful girl, who was murdered in her apartment and several suspects telling the story in their own versions. I like how the story is executed, it is surprisingly very interesting as same event/ same thing was told in different versions by different suspects. Mystery part of this drama is very well done as I am on the edge of my seat throughout the whole drama.
It is one of those dramas where you can‘t stop clicking the next ep because each episode ended with a cliffhanger/surprise twist.

Acting: I know Angelababy’s acting has always been a hot topic in Weibo but I am sure this is her best work so far. She perfectly fits the MeiBao character and I believe it is very well done. I like all other veteran casts and am so satisfied that they did their best jobs.
Special mention : the Actor who played as MeiBao’s stepdad is so impressive as I feel disgusted by his words, and his expressions.

Other aspects: This drama also addresses several hot issues such as child abuse, domestic violence, PickUp Artsts, Unfair Law Enforcement, etc.
Cinematography is of high quality, camera shots are very well done and ofc the ending song is so good.

Though I mentioned so many good things, still there are some Plot-holes, but plot holes are not inevitable in detective dramas and they are not that obvious.

I’d highly recommend this drama to everyone who would like this genre, it is the best one released this year...

Zhang Wuji & Zhao Min!?

I really like Zhao Lusi and after watching the adorable trailers, I decided to give this drama a try and I am so glad I did! I will definitely be checking out Lin Shen’s other works. He’s a very charismatic actor who deserves more opportunities and recognition. Together, they had sizzling chemistry! It’s unfortunate that some people are passing up this drama because of the age gap, but it’s hardly noticeable and there is absolutely no creep factor about it in the drama.

Trust me, the romance was sweet and so incredibly funny! Lu Jin wasn’t lying when he said that Zhou Zhiruo didn’t exist in his story. From the moment he fell in love with his Zhao Min i.e, Gu Sheng Nan, his feelings never wavered and he didn’t take any of the nonsense from the people who tried to get in between them. I never thought I would say this, but there is finally a version Zhang Wuji that I approve of! lol

Now, the only reason why this drama isn’t a perfect 10 for me is because I didn’t enjoy the later half of the drama as much as I did the beginning. I wish they didn’t shift the focus away from the cooking aspect of the show. It would’ve been great if we could’ve seen more of Sheng Nan’s growth as a a chef, instead of the fight between the half-brothers. But that’s my only minor gripe. The ending was ultimately satisfying and I’m happy everyone got their own closure in some way (even though a few of them frustrated me to no end at one point in time).

If you are still on the fence about starting this drama, don’t be! “Dating in the Kitchen” has a great CP, the storyline is fun and breezy, your heart will for sure flutter for Lin Shen, and Zhao Lusi will make you laugh and cry with her for 24 episodes. Watch this drama! You will not regret it!

Are the writers kidding me? I felt like the ending left a lot to be desired. Plus, the entire drama was just the same story recycled and the amount of plot points that were discarded is staggering. I was so bored at times with the repeated cooking challenges. The "bad guys" were a waste of time. The mother was a self-righteous bitch. The secondary characters were ignorant and annoying. So, why didn't I give this a lower rating? The bromance and romance between the three main leads was so sweet and sincere. Plus, there are some actual funny parts and the fighting scenes were good. Honestly, I almost dropped it at episode 3, but I think it does get better. I realized what kind of drama it would be when I found out the writer was the same for Jealousy Incarnate. It was just a so-so drama for me.

The main actors are the highlight of the show. Not that the secondary actors aren't good, but I really could have cared less about any of the characters. JunHo does well at playing an arrogant and strong yet vulnerable and sweet character in Seo Poong. I have been a Jung Ryeo won fan since watching History of a Salaryman and she doesn't fail to impress as Sae Woo. Jang Hyuk is, of course, excellent as Chil Seong and I just love him as an actor.

The music is okay but can sometimes get old.

I will never rewatch this.

I don't really recommend this drama, but it doesn't totally suck.

Happy Michelin Kitchen is a story about a girl who is mistaken as a boy, has an intense drama filled past and come out of it all on top to be very happy and successful.
I wanted to love this drama- allegedly its part of a Happy T-drama series (Happy and Love Forever, Sunny Happiness (which was good) , and this one) that reused the same actors and built upon each other. I really loved Sunny Happiness because although it wasn’t original it was realistic and the “co-incidences” were low. Fresh off the drama high from Sunny Happiness I dove into Happy Michelin Kitchen ready for an intense drama marathon. I was sorely disappointed. Happy Michelin Kitchen also looks to be a knockoff of “Coffee Shop Prince” but there is a reason why it is always better to get the real thing.
The Good. A few handsome guys and interesting cuisine are the best points of this drama. I like strong female leads and this drama has one. There was also some really nice scenery shots and the flashbacks were at a minimum until the last few episodes.
The Bad. Its an awesome concept to reuse characters and actors from previous dramas- that way the dramas have a common thread. HMK re used characters but changed the personalities making it sooo confusing and difficult to accept and care about the new character being portrayed with the same actor, same name, same title, different personality. Speaking of characters, never have I been introduced to so many characters with back stories that I just didn’t care about. There was an overabundance of side stories and side situations that made my head spin- I could keep up but I just didn’t care. I like strong female characters, but for every strong female character there is generally one weak female character; I am okay with that – this is drama land after all. In HMK for every strong female character there is one weak female, one sick female, and one evil female (there are a lot of characters) clearly out numbering the men, and antagonizing the leads.
The one thing I dislike about most T-dramas is the tendency to go overboard. In MHK, there are accidental deaths, accidental pregnancies, secret births, miraculous healings, business take overs, plotting, a bunch of near death experiences, and heir issues. Way too much drama going on! The story line is polluted with all of the side-drama causing it to be forgettable, but it probably couldn’t stand alone anyway.
The Ugly. This drama is fashioned to initially resemble “Coffee Prince” DO NOT BE DECEIVED! I wrote this review so no more of my drama friends would be caught by this evil trick. This drama is nothing like Coffee Prince. Cheryl looks awful as a tomboy and to be honest I kept looking at her and saying “these people do not see her boobs?!”in disbelief. The costuming department should have been fired, because 80% of the actors looked like they shopped at a thrift store for people bigger than them. The hair/ makeup department should have been fired because not only was Cheryl’s wig an awful mess but too many characters looked old, shiny, or like their hair had never seen conditioner. And i saw Texas hair!! (big poofy kind of hair)
In short unless you love whiny, angry, creepy looking characters in situations where everyone is unknowingly really close, don’t watch this drama. Save yourself some anguish and time and just watch Coffee Shop Prince- or anything else. God Bless the subbers because I would have quit subbing around episode 5.

Great visuals with a choppy plot

Overall: So don't read the summary on gagaoolala as it gives away what is supposed to be a plot twist in this short film. I've noticed very similar weaknesses with m/m romance from Taiwan (i.e. Because Of You, Light, Innocence, Papa & Daddy) which try to cover too much plot and often have flashbacks/forwards that add to the choppiness. I wish Taiwanese writers/directors would learn from Strongberry in South Korea on how to put a cohesive/realistic story into a short run time (i.e. Some More, Step For You).

Room For Improvement
- choppiness, starts with them yelling at one another, then a guy is in bed, then motorcycle riding, then basketball playing...like what is going on???
- for the basketball playing scene, how did they meet? The story should have started here and given some footing for the rest of the story.
- unrealistic responses/conversations, who doesn't ask what a person does for a job, it's one of the first things you ask someone. Also, if someone tells you not to do something don't they normally give a reason or wouldn't you ask what their reason is?
- how much time has passed, there isn't a sense of how long they've know each other, a few days, a few weeks?
- I didn't like the ending and think there could have been an honest conversation about the challenge/s of their relationship and how they want to proceed.

had potential, but cliched/nonsense writing ruined it

Overall: the weak script hurt what could have been a unique premise. It has twenty 25 min episodes on GagaOOLala and ten 50 min episodes Viki. I'll be referring to the longer Viki episodes in my review.

- my main complaint is the weak script, characters are doing things "because the writer said so" not because they would actually do them in real life, I don't want to list all of the nonsense things out but there are a bunch like what kind of warehouse has a kitchen (and a bathroom?!?)
- several characters are too unlikable/hot and cold
- cliches abound including the flamboyant guy as a villain and the evil ex girlfriend cliche
- the boss/employee dynamic had a bit of a grooming aspect to it and it was difficult for me to see past it, wish they hadn't been boss/employee
- the total nonsense with the freezer and lack of consequences
- awful communication
- I like cameos but was not into the stepbrother cameo
- a lot of filler/slow pacing
