This drama is so hilarious & fun with a nice balance of some seriousness as well and I'm totally enjoying it all. The Ban family are the best - easygoing and fun. Our heroine is no haughty princess but indeed fun & cool.
Bloody hell, this is so annoying - I want to watch it on it's official YT channels, but they're not available in my region (;T___________________T;) Oh well, good thing Viki has it as well. Let's do this! :D
They really are going all out for this be it writer, director, cast or budget. The plot seems good too. Didn't know of it before, but now I am also anticipating it! ;D Thanx for the article & news. Hope they can successfully resume filming.
I’ve watched The lengend of Dugu first and would recommend doing this first because in the other drama it has…
I've seen Legend of Dugu and was wondering if this one is set about the same historical figures, heh, now I know - thanx for the comment, exactly what I was looking for :D
Wasn't a big fan of that drama, so I'm hoping this one will do better for me.
IT'S HERE!!!!! IT'S FINALLY HEEEEEEEEREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!! Can't believe our years of endless waiting and false alarms is finally over. Best day ever!!!!!
I think I read or heard about it somewhere way back when that one of the reasons older actors and actresses take on playing roles of younger characters even if they no longer quite look it is because those scripts tend to be better because they have a good chance of higher viewership and thus ratings aka the drama will do better in that regard. Something like that.
I'm fine with older actors taking on young characters if the script allows for it, like those historical dramas - people used to age way earlier and had to grow up fast, especially with palace & politics, so older actors won't really seem old in that setting. Also, I prefer they have just one older actor to play the role from get go if it cover's the characters life for several years as the character grows up, like in Minglan. That simply feels more natural.
And of course, if they have the skill set to pull it off - you bet I'll love to watch them on screen and become so immersed in their character that you will no longer see the actor/actress but the character. Those are always the best performances.
I'm fine with younger actors taking accordingly young roles too 'cuz there are indeed truly talented ones in the younger generations as well so they have the skill set to pull off complex roles, buuut like it was mentioned - when it's those idols and so forth getting an awesome roles just 'cuz they're popular and don't even have acting experience or clearly don't have the talent for acting...now that is just sad. Always makes me feel bad thinking how much better it would've been had they given the role to a real actor/actress.
Overall, given a proper setting for the character, I'm totally fine with older actors playing a younger role.
Have seen some of them and do indeed love their characters. Another one that immediately came to mind was Seo Hyun Jin in The Beauty Inside - loved how her character, a famous actress, saw through human crap and stood up for others even if in our current society instead of being praised for doing good deeds, she ends up becoming criticized by the bloody netizens and most of society even thou they know she's right.
This drama is pure gold - love every hilarious & serious second of it!!!!!!!! :D
Definitely looking forward to this one :)

I only wish Japan produced more of them.
