This article will also be in sections. I know some of us don't mind watching lakorns RAW which is why the first section of the article will have subbed recommendations, the second will have RAW recommendations, and the final section will be upcoming titles to keep an eye on.

In addition to that, I want to just put it clearly out here: I will keep scary GIFs/Images of the ghosts in question under the mentioned dramas. So you might want to turn the light on or move to a more public area if you need to. You can't cuss me out anymore ok?

Like all of my LRBT articles, this is going to be a lengthy piece, so like always you might also want to prepare some tea and get comfortable before you start!

Now let us begin!! (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚

And so a new year has arrived and with it arrives a new LR∙BT article from me! I know it's a little out of topic considering Halloween is long gone but it's never too late to get horror drama recommendations, am I right?

In the past, I have recommended some horror movies[1][2][3], so this time I have arrived with dramas with "ghosts" specifically, that I have watched, I have watched and enjoyed, am watching and liking,  wish to watch in the future, or think someone else would like.

The said dramas might be horror, romance, suspense, and even comedy. The principal focus in this recommendation list will be that the drama will have "ghost(s)" as an important factor or driving force for the drama.

Paeka (Anne) is a Thai curator who works at the Asian Institute of Textile & Apparel in Thailand. She is a tall, hard-working Thai woman and greatly adored by Harold (Anant), the managing director of the institution.

One night, while Paeka stays in the institute overtime to take inventory of the 30 Qipao that were sent by Jao Wern Yuey, she finds an extra Qi Pao secretly packed and kept underneath one of the dresses.

The beautiful pink Qipao with pretty Botan flowers, however, has a rip that seems to be made by a knife and is also inhibited by its previous owner, May Lee (Anne), who has been unable to pass on after being murdered on her wedding day.

⇢  Not horror.
⇢ Focused on suspense.
 Most annoying  SFL ever.
 No  SML syndrome.
 Side character angst.
 Strong FL.

It's wise to note that there is a side character who deals with psychological and physical abuse from her husband, to a point where she is incapable of leaving her husband despite him gaslighting her, cheating on her, and so on. Everyone who is sensitive to that, you have been warned.

Otherwise, this is a very good suspense drama that will keep you on your toes.  I was entertained, despite expecting it to be horror.

Tharatorn (Mario) is a stoic and strict businessman who has supernatural powers and has always seen Kaew (Mint) in his dreams.

Tharatorn also has a condition that he believes to be Dissociative Identity Disorder, whereby he turns into a completely different person and only remembers Kaew.

However, to his surprise, he is actually being possessed by Mek (Hiranbuth) who both he and Kaew share past life's karma.

The title of the drama stems from the fact that both Tharatorn's soul and Mek's soul are in love with Kaew for many lifetimes,

And this is how the story follows through the three individuals and their growth towards finding answers and true love.

⇢ Headstrong main leads
⇢  Not horror
⇢  Romance + Suspense
⇢  Annoying SFL

I watched this drama around four years ago, while I was still young both in real life and in the lakorn scene, but I remember that I really enjoyed this drama despite the SFL being annoying as hell.

The first lifetime for the main leads wasn't the most pleasing, of course, but they did get a happy ending in the second lifetime.

Oh, and Mario looked absolutely adorable every time he got possessed hahaha.

On his birthday, Med (Singto), a sickly heir to a rich family dies accidentally. Due to the manner of his death, he remains as a ghost for 20 years. He dreams of reincarnation as he waits in the graveyard, lonesome watching other ghosts getting offerings from their family whereas his own grave is full of weeds and dirt.

However, one day his lonesome life lights up when he meets Thun (Ohm), a young boy who is able to see and talk with him during every Ching Ming Festival.

A few years pass and Thun, now a university student, reveals that Med was killed and promises to identify the reason behind Med's murder and takes Med to live with him. As they solve the issues relating to Med's death, the boys find themselves falling in love with each other despite the obvious fact that they must part one day.

⇢  Romance + suspense focused
⇢  Not horror
⇢  Age gap (of course lmao)
⇢  Happy ending
⇢  Great OST

I remember I read the novel before I watched this drama. I had high hopes and for the most part, it was met. However, personally, I was slightly disappointed that the drama was different from the novel.

This drama is sweet and sugary. Yes, there is an episode where we see the compulsory angst, it does get resolved due to Thun finally getting a grip.

I think, the one thing that disappointed me the most was how even when Mek found out how he died, he did not seek retribution while in the book he got his revenge.

The bottom line is that this is one of the finest BLs Thailand has produced so far.

A story of a young dancer, Dok Soi (Now) who allowed a ghost (man-eater) to possess her body in exchange to save her father’s life. The ghost uses her body to catch prey while she must endure the suffering of her bloody hands.

When she meets a young officer called Krai (New) who arrived in her village in order to find and kill the "Man-eater" that killed his father.

Housing the ghost in her body while being in love with Krai, Dok Soi must constantly fight a battle within herself as she attempts to keep the ghost at bay and also dare to love without the guilt of possibly having killed her lover's father.

In the first life, they are twins. The older one was called Kasalong (Yaya) who was raised by her mother who taught her to be sweet and gentle. The younger was called Songpeep (Yaya) who was raised by her father is cruel and selfish just like him.

Both the twins fell in love with Tinnakrit (James). However, he fell in love with Kasalong.  In the end, they both tragically died.

In the next life, Songpeep was reborn as Pimpisa (Yaya), a dermatologist who was dating Dr. Prasawin (James)

However, the ghost of Kasalong still lingered around them and this time she did not want to be nice, this time she wanted revenge.

⇢ Horror + Drama
⇢  Reincarnation; Three lives
⇢  Requires no brain cells
⇢  Good acting though

I am going to be very honest here and tell you that if you have a habit of critically thinking when watching a drama (like me), you might just end up dropping this (like me).

The production staff really made this like it was fiction, there are many logic-defying moments scattered within this drama I am sure.

I have still recommended this because I strongly believe that there is someone who will enjoy this. Hey at least the OST is pretty decent and the ending is happy.

Taechat (Sean) is a good-looking and good-hearted guy. He works for a charity fund where he bumps into and meets superstar Jarawee (Vill)

Jarawee has a crush on Pawin (Klun), who’s also a star of the same entertainment company.

One day, a car accident changes their fates forever. With the grim reaper’s help, Jarawee does not enter the reincarnation cycle. Taechat is the only one who can see her spirit and hence accompanies her to investigate her death. This is how their love begins, but how will it end?

Sean is a treat to watch in this drama. In fact, this drama is the drama where decided that Sean is a wonderful actor. The relationship between the ML and the FL is very healthy and pure. The ML tried his level best to help the FL, who slowly let go of the knots in her heart and turned gentle. Honestly, we all know who the bad people are from the beginning so it's a matter of time before we see them get ruined. In the end, the FL goes to get reincarnated and comes back 20 years later, when the ML is still alive and waiting. Therefore, those who do not like age gaps, avoid this. Overall, it's definitely worth a watch.

The story revolves around 5 girls. They all were born on the same day and they all were given a gift. It was an extra sense. They have a sixth sense.

Yanin
(Ja) is the girl with the knowledge. She can read magic cards and she also can talk to spirits. Sukhontaros (Eye) can smell the type of spirits they are.

Netr’s  (Krissie) special sense is that she can see spirits. Karn's (Wawwa) specialty is that she can hear the spirits talk. Kaem (Morson) has a special sense of touch.

⇢ Slightly horror
⇢  Fun & interesting
⇢  Romance is here
⇢  Bad CGI
⇢  Has a season 2!!!

Considering the episode count, I believe that this might be along with one to marathon or binge.

I have begun watching the first season, and it's extremely entertaining. The ghosts are gruesome looking but this is more comedy than horror.

Speaking of viewer reactions, the majority of the response about the drama is positive and viewers also rewatch it a lot which. is forever a good sign.

Dao becomes human one day and the two live as a married couple.

However, Marut’s mother refuses to accept Dao. She brings another woman into the home and with black magic, this woman is able to conquer Marut’s heart.

Marut becomes a completely different man and begins to treat Dao badly. He even physically harms her at times.

Will Dao be able to save the man she loves from the dark magic that clouds him? How will Dao and Marut overcome the natural life cycle?

⇢  Ghost, Vampire, and B. Magic!
⇢  Evil ML mother
⇢  Physical abuse

I am curious about this one, I have been for three years now. The one review about this title spoke very beautifully about it and gave it a 10.

Another comment spoke about the circumstances under which the FL and the ML first met. It was when the FL was around 80 but of course, she looked like she was 20 something and the ML was around 12.

For those who feel awkward about the fact that the FL met the ML when he was a child and still got romantically involved with him later on, please avoid this.

If you hate watching dramas where the ML is done black magic on and then begins to treat the FL badly, you might wanna skip this one.

Ah yes.. my absolute first horror lakorn. I binged through this entire show like I had nothing else going on. It was... scary.

I don't mean this in the sense that you will be terrified, but certain scenes do make the tips of your fingers buzz and the back of your neck twitch.

It's also sad because some lovable characters die and that left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth.I guess, in the end, it was a HE.

At first glance, the plot is very promising and it's also written by a well-known Thai author, however, I felt like a lot of unnecessary things happened in this that was not needed at all because the ghost just was not that scary.

I also didn't like the actor playing the ML or even his character.

Nonetheless, I still think that for someone who wants a casual no-brainer watch, this would be good for you. Oh, and plus, it's a HE.

Nonetheless, from the synopsis, I am sure that you all know to expect angst in the 1st and 2nd timelines. In the 3rd timeline, we can expect the ML and FL to finally have the opportunity to unite as humans & have their "happy ending".

The story opened with a noble couple in Rangsiya Palace. Than Chai (Chatchai) was married to Than Ying (Lalita) but also had a mistress he loved, Mom Bulahn (Jintra), who was pregnant with his first child...

One day Fueng (Thanya) who is very loyal to Than Ying drives away Bulahn who had just given birth to a boy Chai Daew (Pop) unaware that she was pregnant with twins.

Bulahn and her twin daughter Roong (Patricia) ends up in Pott Pannathorn's house whose wife dies on that day after giving birth to her second child Nurima (Mitra) and creates a bad impression in the mind of Chaat (Son)

I was very confused when I was reading the synopsis of this drama. At first, I thought Son's was playing Chai Daew's character and when I came to the "twins" part I froze and gasped, "Incest?!"

Thankfully, Son Yuke isn't her twin and this isn't Twincest.

I think from the premise this is going to be heavy on angst and tears. The addition of Feung's ghost probably won't help.

Honestly, this is all because uncle Than Chai wanted to eat from two plates at the same time. Tsk Tsk.

This didn't stop him from also falling for Rerin because heh... anyways, Rerin and Siriwong fell for each other but Siriwattana fell for Rerin as well. Meanwhile, Mom Bua was very jealous and so she always tortured Rerin with her trusted servant Moei.

Moei was so loyal she even killed herself to turn into a ghost and continue serving Mom Bua, which brought a lot of trouble in the second life where she looked all sorts of messed up. I mean, look!

This drama has three lifelines. In the first, the female lead was the princess of Laos, Jao Nang Noy (Vill), and the male lead was a Thai prince, Than Chai Yai (Son), who had just arrived from Europe after completing his education.

Directly upon his arrival, he finds out that he is engaged to the second female lead, Wilaileyka

He is resolute in his love and in the end, his mother who doesn't like Jao Nang Noy because she's from Laos gives in and allows them to marry.

However, on the night of their marriage, the Jao Nang Noy dies of poisoning.

After his wife dies, a heartbroken Than Chai  Yai soon follows after, dying of a broken heart. But his spirit lives on in wait for his wife to reincarnate and return.

⇢ Headstrong & loyal ML
⇢  Not horror
⇢  Murderer SFL
⇢  No rape

I was very impressed when I first watched this. I think it was mostly because after watching so many trash MLs in lakorns, here Chai Yai was adamant about marrying the FL. He did not bend to anyone at all. I really admired that about him.

The chemistry between Sonyuke and Vill is as amazing as always. The cinematography was good.  So was the OST.

However, there was one thing that annoyed me so much. The ML was focused on asking the SFL for forgiveness, and this woman did not deserve it because hello she killed the FL twice!

By the end, I felt like the ML owed me an apology since he was so open to giving them away for free!

Trust me when I say this, the story is way beyond the description. In fact, while I have watched the k-drama version a few years ago... this version was much better and more complex in my opinion.

Almost every character was utilised for the plot in some way and not just kept as a sidepiece like in the drama. I also felt this ended much better.

Pikul (Praew)  is a ghost who has spent 100 years seeking revenge against the family of her husband (See) who she believed to have only married her in order to offer her as a sacrifice to his family's goddess.

Eventually, her husband and everyone in her lifetime was reborn in the same family, and so she once again began her dance of death.

First of all, I need to express just how beautiful the OST of this drama is. BEAUTIFUL!

I have just completed this drama, and honestly, it's a great drama, everything went going smoothly and it's was scary.

I think I quite like this flavour of horror lakorn. Not everything has to be a mopey FL who is crying over a reincarnated amnesiac ML who feels attracted to her but can't explain how.

The FL on the other hand also didn't care about the lack of ML's romantic feelings... which is so cool! Also, look at how scary she could look! I love scary ghost FLs! (side-eyes Klin Kasalong)

Overall, it's a great drama. Watch it after doing research as always <3

In the period of King Rama V, Princess Seeked (Tanya), the princess from the vassal state is the most skillful weaver in the royal palace. Although life is full of sadness and injustice, one day she meets Prince Tad (Chai) who falls for her beauty at first sight.

However, the love of men in those times is just like dew — abundant in supply for a period of time but suddenly lost when morning arrives.

Soon Prince Tad falls for Princess Chay
(Natharika) and decides to marry her, leaving a now pregnant Seeked with only a broken promise of marriage.

With vengeance in her heart, Princess Seeked completes weaving a golden brocade and places a curse of the fabric with tears full of bitterness. Then she kills herself.

Through the brocade, Seeked continues to wander the earth waiting for vengeance upon every birth of the people who ruined her life.

I have watched this fairly recently and it was a decent watch. It's not really scary so you can watch this at night time.

I do accept that there are certain plot holes and parts where things could have been managed totally differently — but I mean I was entertained so I forgot the tiny frustrations.

I liked how the ghost from the past life was not a white lotus who was killed and you just feel so sorry for her — truthfully, she was vindictive and vengeful as a person. She believed in fighting for herself and although her life was sad, I liked how she was not pure and selfless.

Fyi, this drama is based on a novel written by the same author of "Qi Pao" which is the sequel of this title.

Karakade was a very mean and selfish person. Everyone hated her, especially her betrothed Date
(Pope), who liked another girl (Prang) but his dad and Karakade's dad were best friends and they promised that their kids would marry each other.

After Kadesurang wakes up in Karakade's body, everyone around her is confused now that she's acting like a completely different person. But her optimistic and playful personality slowly wins over everyone, including Date, who falls in love with the new Karakade.

See now this article isn't about "horror" but ghosts, so you can't really scold me here ok?

This is possibly one of the most famous Thai dramas that contain the tag "ghost", if not the most famous.

I will not lie, the absolute first time I watched the drama, I was very freaked out with the entire first 50 or so minutes.

Right now it doesn't seem scary at all, but at that moment I was counting minutes until it would be over and Karakade could switch into Kadesurang's body.

See now I have watched the k-drama version of this and I am seeing that this version is almost the same as the drama so don't worry, there isn't all that much angst and the ending is happy.

It's a very filler sort of drama that you can watch when you're just bored one day, but honestly don't expect a lot from the actor playing the main lead because personally, he's not all that great with his acting. Otherwise, you'll enjoy yourself.

Upon her arrival to the house, however, she comes face to face with the spirit of Putkanlaya who says that she did not commit suicide and was murdered instead.

The spirit of Putkanlaya asks Hormnam to help her connect with her still-grieving husband (Dilok) and stone-faced dentist son (Michael) in exchange for helping Hormnam, who is a horrible actress, with her sudden role in the current project as a Nang rai (villainess).

From what I have gathered, each episode has different stories. And what this means is that while you may love certain episodes, you may dislike the others.

Additionally, the episode called "The Blue Hour" is extremely lackluster and is just a chopped-up version of the full-length movie with the same title (The Blue Hour). So you might as well invest your time on the actual movie than a botched episode version of it.

Okay, so it took me a while to get an idea of just who the FL was. So from my understanding, the FL is a therapist who suddenly has an accident and goes into a coma, and becomes a spirit for the duration of her coma.

Honestly, when I read the plot I really didn't like the ethical aspect of her being his therapist and them developing a romantic relationship in the drama, and also the fact that she falsified his psychological analysis report... but I guess this is fiction so~ enjoy!  (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I watched this drama around the first years of my Thai lakorn viewing venture.

I didn't know the actors or actresses all that well, but I remember thinking it was a sweet drama for the most part.  I think it was because before this I had watched some solid slap-kiss. This drama is quite well received by whoever has watched it.

While it does have an MDL rating of 7.8, you must remember that these are Thai lakorns and they don't get the hype or inflated ratings that dramas from other countries receive.

That aside, a viewer of this drama actually called him Dr. Jerk M so I don't think his character is designed to be loveable.

In conclusion, the synopsis says the plot is cute, so WATCH IT FOR TOR!

A rejected woman comes back as a ghost to threaten the reincarnation of her past love and his new love.

The above summary is wonderfully informative so Soju here is at your service once again with her potentially inaccurate, mostly reliable interpretation of the plot.

Raiwan (Tik) was a police officer when he was alive and was married to Si Nuan (Joy) who he really took for granted. Eventually, he probably even cheated on her with another woman (maybe the FL) and something happened that led to the wife's death.

This caused the now vengeful Si Nuan to remain in the house an evil ghost. Raiwan, upon his death, is also stuck in the house as the house spirit (They have these in Thailand, they protect the property and people)

Then in the future, Prae Khao (Rita) who is a married/divorced woman with a child (maybe even two) comes to live in that house. Some sort of love occurs between the two ... and well... the wife is there as well so we can't expect springtime eh?

Alright so aside from the zero dollars that went into paying the graphic designing team for this drama's poster, folks are not liking the FL's personality and are calling her toxic, self-absorbed, and manipulative. While he is being nursed back to health, Nak and their child both die during a difficult childbirth.

In addition to that, there are many other adaptations to this Thai tale. You can probably find it all if you go to the page of the earliest adaptation.

Roy Dao started to go investigate the voice that she heard and she saw the spirit of Wiang Kaew coming to hunt everyone in the Badintorn's House.

Not a lot is said about this drama which I mean I attribute to the lack of subbing since Taew, Donut, and Smart are quite famous in Thai lakorn world.

Maybe one day some subber who enjoys subbing old lakorns will pick this up?

From the one reviewer and the trailer, I guess this is not something that will make you pee your pants, but it does seem interesting enough to invest time in.

Now, I do want to gently remind everyone that this may cause an irrational detachment and mistrust towards all your stuffed toys. For the next few days, you may feel like you have been raising demons inside cute toy vessels, and all those cute fluffy teddy bears will also begin to magically look at you creepily*

Don't worry when that happens, go on & watch something super fluffy and entertaining, like Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper.  \(★ω★)/

And if that doesn't work... watch some People's Court. That will definitely work.

A story about resentment of Riewthong (Jooy), daughter of the owner of a puppet performing group, against H.S.H. Princess Rumpa Tinnachart (Janie), daughter of the owner of Tinnachart Palace.

It all began when H.S.H Prince Direk Supamas (Toe), engaged to Rumpa since childhood, fell in love with Riewthong. He ordered a custom-made golden bangle, 'Gum Lai Mat', inscribed with the name of Riewthong as his gift of love.

He never thought that the golden bangle would bind their fates and bring them to meet each other again in the next life.

⇢ High on karma
⇢ High on drama
⇢ ML is the third fiddle
⇢ Low romantic interactions

I genuinely believe that half the time drama even happens is because the male characters just can not for the life of them try to love and marry the woman they get engaged with!

For whatever reason the union was formed, it is there now and one now has responsibilities and obligations towards your significant other. Falling in love with someone else is infidelity, sir.

... I think I've been watching too many Divorce Court episodes lately.

Nammon's (Braifern) parents passed away in an accident. She has a younger brother she has to look after on top of going to school and such.

Pee (Porsche) is a wandering soul who needs help. He's not dead, but his body is in a coma somewhere.

He comes to ask Nammon for help so that he can return to his body. However, he doesn't really remember or know what happened to him, but Nammon is the only one who can see him.

They eventually fall in love and overcome obstacles together.

Apparently, only the first two episodes of this drama have been subbed.

That aside, this feels like an alternate universe to "Let's Fight Ghost".

I don't think it's supposed to be too dramatic, more so focused on comedy and targeted towards the youth so for the most part, it won't be THAT full of angst.

Hopefully.

This also looks like a no-brainer HE.

Prat (Boat), is a good-looking bank employee who endeavours to do simple jobs, never acts out of the way, and is determined to save money, and one day marry his long-time — but much richer — girlfriend, Chachri (Larissa). However, Chachri's family are less than pleased with him, when he proposes to Chachri, her family shows open disgust towards him being poor

One day, Pratt ended up slipping and hitting his head against a rocky platform. This causes him to meet a rich noble man's ghost (
Kiak), who changes his life forever.

Go to the actual drama page to read a more detailed synopsis.

This drama's primary genre is comedy, so expect a lot of crack-headedness.

A reviewer mentioned, and it does seem quite obvious, that the playboy ghost is an absolute trouble maker and ruins most things in the ML's life before somehow helping fix it. Hopefully.

I would honestly watch it someday if I want to mindlessly be entertained with something.

Just look at this troublemaker. I would give him a slap up his head.

Maythawadee (Kannaporn) and Maythawalai (Jakjaan) are sisters who love the same guy, Phakinai (Golf). Maythawadee sets a plan to send her sister to marry the king of another land to get rid of her because she knows Phakinai loves Maythawalai. During her departure, a storm hits the boat Maythawalai is on and it sinks it. Phakinai tries to protect Maythawalai, however, both of them drown together.

Maythawadee's spirit was then caged underwater. She watches and protects any antiquities that fell from boats and kills people who are coming to steal. Maythawalai is then reborn as the daughter of a colonel who studies archaeology.

⇢ Decent OST
⇢ More water ghost!

At this point, I think it's a shame that CH8 dramas hardly ever get picked up for subbing because they really invest in a lot of fantasy/horror genres.

Once again, if you want to watch something totally dramatic, something that makes you feel better about the reality you exist in, this one might be the one for you.

Or if you're one of those that want to watch happier things before if is already so messed up (I feel you), scroll up and find Bpooppaesanivas, Let's Fight Ghost, or The Magical Hour he he he !

A selfish man (Kelly) causes the life of a prim and proper girl (Nune) to lose everything, in turn making her do everything she can to seek revenge with the help of a young man.

This young man uses his charm to harm the daughter of her enemy but as time passes, the revenge goes too far and is about to make her lose much more than she bargained for, such as her own life.

A tragic love story unfolds when Malaai (Pinky) agrees to marry the owner of Rom Ngiew House, Luang Wisarn (Aun), unaware that he is gay.
A lovely viewer gave a more thorough summary of the drama, so I'll brief you all here thanks to them.

The ML is gay, he has also been raising a servant called Dech (Golf). In order to show his gratitude towards the ML who has fed, raised, and sheltered him since childhood, Dech gets into a sexual relationship with him despite not actually loving him.

The story is set in the olden times when homosexuality was not accepted, the ML marries a woman. But of course, he can't form sexual relations with her... so he asks Dech.

Lead long summary here.

Oh, I have opinions & SPOILERS!

The amount of stupidity this entire situation had.

Like hello! You don't send your lover* to have sexual relations with your sad and depraved wife!

They will obviously fall in love and leave you behind!

Lord knows what happens and how they die but the ML and the wife end up dead and become ghosts.

Then the ghost ML kills the servant thinking he will be with him but HA HA the Dech only becomes a spirit and he and the wife pass on together!

They even reincarnate and meet each other, but the ML is still stuck as a ghost!

I think this is peak makjang entertainment here. Peak!
