For this year's challenge, we have chosen the theme desert. While this affects our choice of words, it is just for fun. However, understanding the wording used in the challenge may come in handy:
| Ingredient: Title Recipe: Prompts that describe the traits your ingredient must have Recipe-Block (or just block): a group of 5 Recipes Peppermints: extra Recipes that can be used as substitutions for the Recipes you wish to avoid in the Recipe-Blocks of your choice |
The challenge consists of 46 Recipe-Blocks!
To complete a Recipe-Block:
- Find ingredients that match the description for each Recipe in the Recipe-Block of your choice.
- Add 5 ingredients: Watch 5 titles matching the 5 Recipes in the Recipe-Block of your choice . You can also chose to use Peppermints to complete the recipe block.
- You must watch the entire title within the period January 1st-December 27th, no matter when you join the challenge.
- Each ingredient can only be used ONCE in the whole challenge.
- You add and move around the ingredients in any order you want.
Using Peppermints
- Each Peppermint can only be used ONCE in the challenge.
- You may use as many peppermints as you want per block, but remember you only have 20 Peppermints for the whole challenge.
Double recipe blocks
There are 2 Recipe-Blocks in the challenge that consist of 10 recipes, this is the only place where you get to choose to add ether 5 ingredients and count it as 1 Recipe-Block OR add all 10 Ingredients and count it as 2 Recipe-Block
Think of it this way: you have everything all set out to make dough for soft chocolate chip cookies for guests you’ve invited over the next day-okay, the only one YOU care to see is your adorable goddaughter, but you’ll cook for her parents, too, since they’re doing the real work. You have your butter, sugar, flour, eggs, and chocolate all ready, and with those 5 ingredients, your dessert block has all it needs and you just have to put in the time and finish it up! Success! But wait... Suddenly, you’re called and given new information: their daughter’s doctor said Your eggs might be a drama over 30 episodes. Your eggs might be a “historical+political” title. We got you. We know some of these recipes will not be to your taste. Some you may not have time for. Whatever breaks you out in hives, we have some calming peppermints are your allergy remedy. |
the hives she was getting were from an egg allergy. Oh, no... grandma’s recipe’s OUT, and you know she won’t like the crumbly and dry shortbread kinds and is a purist so no nut butters or sunflower seed butter sneaking in. A million online tips, but you know the only trusted source for your baking needs: your pandemic family at MDL who did a LOT of stress baking, plenty of it gluten free egg free nut free dairy free and sugar free, too, those keto hulks and their 48kg zoom workout friends. Your favorite stress baker tells you plain as day, “If dairy is okay, got a can of sweetened condensed milk? Even condensed coconut can kinda work if the kid won’t scream your ears off for it, but yeah, got condensed milk?” and bam, you have your new dough. Eggs out, condensed milk in, and while sure you spent way more time being a live action K-drama anxious daughter in law on MDL than actually baking, your goddaughter still loves you.
1. Start by adding the Ingredients (completing the titles) that match the Recipes from any one of the Recipe-Blocks within the challenge (you must complete the whole Recipe- Bock)-
2. After that you will have to complete a second one to reach the level Dalgona Now you have watched enough to participate in the challenge! Congratulations!
3. After that you just keep adding as many Recipe-Blocks as you want/can until you reach your goal and/or the date is December 27th.
4. It is enough to complete two Recipe-Blocks to complete this challenge.
5. You may choose any or the Recipe-Blocks withing the challenge as well as complete them in any order you would like.
6. Feel free to choose a Badge to add to your profile or create your own!
In other words: Start off at Dalgona and work your way towards the Happiness Cake by counting the numbers of recipe blocks you have completed by December 27th
If by any chance anyone completes all 46 Recipe-Blocks (including the 2 blocks of 10) and 20 Peppermints a total of 250 titles, we will have a surprise for you. We would however like to point out the importance of participating according to your own situation, no matter what level fits you, we are happy to have you here!
